Overall, I do not like the Antoinette. The cups are the perfect width and don't dig into my wide-rooted, shallow boobs, but two things make it insufferable. Firstly, the straps are way too far apart. I don't like that they connect to my armpit. Secondly, I can't stand how high the gore goes because it pokes my sternum. Of course, that's just the way bandeau bras are.
This bra possibly runs big in the cup. I had trouble filling it, which left the sides near the gore looking concave, especially since it has a center seam (which showed through the clothes I wanted to wear it with). Otherwise, it might have fit great with a smaller cup under some thicker clothes. It seemed like it would have worked well for my shallow breasts.
Love this bra in appearance! It fits well in my normal size.
My only minor complaint is that the top rim of the cups is fairly thick and rounded (not a fit issue, just the actual fabric underneath the lace) which leads to a fairly pronounced line under a t-shirt. Works best under thicker/firmer/textured shirts.
This was my first real bra love and I still find this bra, especially this colourway, to be the most beautiful bra ever conceived. This particular bra is one of my first properly fitting bras I bought back in 2011. I’ve always had a love hate relationship with this style. Despite its design, all the rest in this bra was thought to make you suffer. Or at least to make me suffer https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> First, there’s an incredibly high and large center gore. I’m not particularly close set, but this is too much for me. Then, at least in this size, the band is ...way too high all the way long. It’s particularly uncomfortable under my armpits where there are placed vertical underwires. The cups are very wide but I imagine I was really spoiled with narrow EM wires. And to cap it off, the straps are unstrechy in their front part. Antoinette is very difficult to put on. The bottom of the cup is quite shallow and you really have to pull the cup up to place the wire in the IMF. Read more 79 more words
This bra was disappointing. The straps are only half adjustable and the non-adjustable part feels like cheap craft ribbon. I think I prefer the normal strapping. The cups gave an awful pointy shape, although I think it might be because the cups are too deep.
The band is nice and firm, I actually find it slightly too tight. The lace overlay is really pretty as well. Overall, other than the straps, the quality of the bra is pretty good.
Maybe I'm just new to bra fitting for myself but this bra was very tight and the gore did not even come close to tacking. It's a beautiful bra otherwise, silky and wonderful on the skin. No tugs or anything poking. I think the cups would fit if the middle part wasn't so awkward. I'm not sure if going up or down a cup/band size would matter in this case though because of the middle(28D). But again I'm new to finding proper fitting bras (have been wearing sad flimsy C-cups my whole life).
** I added pictures finally to show how awkward the fit is. Also,I will be listing it for sale here soon! Now that I tried it on again I realized there is some poking underneath where the underwire digs into my skin a little. Lovely bra,not for me.
The band is too tight to start with, but I find my ribcage is an awkward size for Panache/Masquerade bras: the 30 bands are tight enough that I want an extender for the first few wears, but the 32 have me on the middle and final hooks far too quickly. So I opt for the 30, because the rest of the bra (cup height, wire height etc) fits better.
The band has 3 hooks -- bliss! And quite high wings, which successfully grab everything from under my arms and push it forward. It still looks wide from the front, but for a UK half-cup it's ...delightfully narrow. Even better, it has enough immediate projection to make my boobs happy, and is lovely and open on top, giving support and soft hills/regency cleavage at the same time. Gives a rounded, forward but slightly minimised shape. This could well become my go-to bra for low-cut tops.
Straps are only partly adjustable. The top edge of the cup is quite thick/rounded, so it might show under clingy fabrics.
I'm devastated that this bra is discontinued. Why do I always find bras that fit only to discover they no longer exist?
I feel like the cup is not carried well in this bra. Like the straps are to far to the sides in stead of more to the center of the bra. I like the look of the bra. The band is quite tight, but I really like that. It is firm, but not to tight.
