    Used to fit

I recently received this from Mandapandarawks (thank you!). What an awesome bra! It's officially my new favorite. I've always wanted to try Gaia but was hesitant because I wasn't sure what size to order and didn't want to get stuck with a badly fitting bra. I usually wear balconettes because filling out the top of a full cup is impossible. Not so on this one. There's no lace, stretch or otherwise, and I think that makes the difference. I do find the wires a bit narrow but I have wide short roots. I also think the color design is nice. The cups are a pleasant salmon color with tiny white polkadots. The straps and band are white. I'd given up on padded bras a while ago because they're usually too shallow. This one stays in place without pushing the wire out of my IMF and it gives a nice rounded appearance under clothes.

    Didn't fit

My shape: full on bottom, soft tissue, narrow shoulders/roots.
Special thanks to MamaPagan for sending me this bra (and many others!) to try on!
Appearance and Fit: Same fabric as the Gaia Ginger Full Cup (see review here: https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dium5/)
So this is an interesting fit for me. It's lovely everywhere except, you guessed it! the tops of the cups, which gape everywhere except the center. I think I'm going to keep this bra, in spite of that; I can't seem to fill out tops of cups that don't have stretch lace. So far, the semi-soft Gaia bras fit me the best, but I like that this bra is all ... the way padded. It would be a great bra to wear in the cold of winter.
I can definitely tell the difference between the regular full cup and the maxi full cup style. The gore is a lot higher on the maxi full-cup, and the straps are made of wider elastic. I have a little issue with fabric creeping into my armpits, which leads me to believe the straps are a touch wider set. Strangely enough, it doesn't bother me as much on the maxi full cup as it does on the regular full cup.
I think my perfect Gaia bra would be a Frankenstein mishmash of the 65J semi-padded cups and thinner straps with 70K band and its 3 hooks. I wonder if they could make something like that for me? (The only bra place I've ever heard of doing anything remotely similar to that is Comexim.)
Edit: Ok, so the gore HURTS. It's too tall and digs into my sternum. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    • How does the top of the cup look under a shirt? I have the same issue with half cups, but if you can't see the line then it's good to go. :)

    • Love these polka dots and the wider straps. So cute!!

I also wish Gaia would make a custom bra for me, but I don't believe they do that. Their designs are beautiful, their fabrics comfortable and their price unbeatable. However in my size (65J) I find their construction gives too little support. I would want them to give me a 65 band, but with 3/4 hooks, wider straps, but NOT a higher gore. Maybe I`ll just write to them if they would do that, asking doesn't hurt.

BLee That's EXACTLY what I would want, too! If you do email them to ask. please let me know what they say!

    Hasn't set fit

    Ginger Maxi in 70K
I am adding this bra for data/informational purposes only. This Bra is not owned by me at the time of addition to the database.

Ginger is a padded semi-demi bra. The padding is a light foam lining. The pattern is tan with micro white dots and white accents, same as Gaia’s Gina. The cups have 3 sections-2 vertical on bottom with 1 horizontal on top, and the straps are stationary, not removable or changeable.

The band was 26” to a max stretch of 33”, with 3 hooks and 3 rows of eyes.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape ... measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 10.75”

2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 12.25”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

The cup on the 70K maxi is smaller than the 65K Gina, and the same unstretched measurement as the 70I cup, but with ¾” less stretch making it smaller than the 70I as well. Also, for some reason this Ginger bra has a center gore spacing of a full inch, making it far wider spaced than most Polish bras. I’m used to the center gore wires basically touching, if not overlapped, so this was odd.

So far every Gaia bra I’ve tried in the Maxi has been smaller than their regular line by roughly 2 cups, making the Maxi line basically useless unless you’re just wanting a tag that says a higher cup size. I’ve also found the quality of their Maxi line to be much lower than their regular line.

I am so disappointed! I love the pattern and wanted it so badly! The matching panties are so cute as well, so I now have 3 bras with the matching panties and can’t wear them other than as a half cup for my hubby’s eyes only, but definitely not doable under clothes as it looks bad.

I got most of my Gaia bras from my treasured Polish bra supplier Magda (Tomahuka on eBay & www.Bras4You.com) as well as the matching panties. Magda offers excellent customer service, and gives you a free random pair of panties with orders of 2 or more bras!

I also tried Ginger in 70J, plus Gina in 65K, 70I, and 70J. Gina is similar to Ginger except for the cups are in 3 vertical sections and more of a demi style than the Ginger. Unfortunately for me, none of the fit, and I had to accept that I was not going to have a lovely Gina/Ginger set to wear
