    Didn't fit

I'm brand new to seeking abtf and this was in my first haul of Freya bras, and UK bras in general. So I may not know what I'm talking about! Haha
That said, I found this bra to be very wearable comfort wise, and well constructed, so I decided to keep it. I find the band too large for me, however, and it does ride up soon after putting it on but since it's far better than my previous go-to bras/size, and super soft/comfy it's staying for now. I definitely need a 30 band and sadly the sister size of 30E in this bra, and in the longline version were slightly too small in the cup leading to some spillover as it cut in along the top and pushed my tissue around in strange, unexpected ways giving me a bizarre shape - such as a large "dimple" in the bottom of the bra, for example!

This bra was a happy surprise! I was looking for a nude seamed cup bra that wouldn't show too much under clothing, and I really wasn't expecting this to fit the bill. I only tacked it on to my amazon order because it was eligible for free returns.

This bra is sooooo comfy! It's also the prettiest bra I own. My only grievance is that the band is really big. I can wear it comfortably on the tightest hook right now, so I'll probably have to alter it eventually. The bra gives a nice rounded shape to my breasts. Even though there's lace and seams, it doesn't show too much under clothing. The bra is also quite a bit darker than my skintone, but it disappears under my white t-shirts. I'm so excited to have found this bra!!

I used to LOVE my Freya bras, even though they weren't a perfect fit. They gave a nice rounded look and I could wear most of them every day, though there were a couple that had seams which might show under a thin shirt. They were great bras. My favorites were discontinued. If you love the fit, I would definitely order another one in the same or a similar style so you have a backup.

    • You say "used to". May I ask, what changed? Did you find a brand that fit better?

    • 1

I liked the Freya Marvel and the Freya Patsy. As my size increased, I couldn't get them anymore because they were discontinued. The newer styles seemed to be a different cut and didn't work well for me. I think I might have sized out now, but I'm not sure.

    • I see. That's too bad! I haven't tried Marvel, but Patsy didn't work out too well for me.

I bought this hoping for the support of the Idol Balcony bra with shorter cups that are better suited to
my body type. I’m super disappointed and returning it. The band runs HUGE. I have a 30E and even on the tightest hook, I can put my whole hand under it and stretch it several inches away from my body. It measures 35 inches stretched! Cups seem true to size.

    • Sorry it was disappointing! If it's like the other bras I know from that line, the band is probably cut to a normal (unstretched) length--it just stretches halfway round the globe. I really didn't like the Fancies line overall because of the materials and construction. Flimsies would have been a better name lol

    • 1

wendybien “Stretches halfway around the globe” is an accurate assessment! Good to know the @Fancies line is all like that! I’ll skip over those in my quest for a perfect bra :)

    • I appreciate your review and info on this style. Unfortunately, for some reason all the Freya's I've been able to get my hands on in 36 and 30 bands are also horrifically stretchy. No support whatsoever. Keep hoping that there will be a version where this brand finally figures out how to make a bra, that we can't do hula hooping or jump rope with.

    • Ugh typo'd when I meant to say ***all the Freya's I've been able to get my hands on in 28 & 30 bands, also horrifically stretchy*** The only way around this is to look for anything with a low elastane percentage, like 6 to 10 percent. taller bands rather than thinner ones, tend to stretch less. Maybe this is why most brands use barely an inch wide band on all their sizes, hope to force every size to have a crappy loose fit that rides up over the underboobs.

    • Sorry to be the (late) bearer of depressing news, but I have been checking out Freya bras since the brand launched in the late 90s and apart from their first few seasons in existence, I can confirm their problem with excessively stretchy bands is a chronic one. I think it just goes with the price point and targeting of somewhat younger wearers--the quality just isn't there. If you are limited to UK brands and need a small band, I would look at Cleo, Fantasie etc. instead. Cleo runs small and firm, Fantasie is pretty true to size in small band/large cup.

I tried this bra in the following sizes: 32F, 32FF, 34F. This one, the 32FF was the winner! 🎉

    ## KEEP OR CHANGE

🤩 This one's the keeper - in other bras, I'm a 34F, but the band on this bra stretched a LOT I've only tried this color so I'm not sure if it's the style or the style+color. 32F starts to compress so it was no surprise the 32FF has the right volume.

Review for 34F (with measurements) https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dn7m6/

    ## FIT OVERVIEW

    - Band is a bit loose
    - Gore fits nicely
    - Cups perfectly fits my larger side
    - Straps are fine
    - Wire feels good but sits best when fastened on the middle hooks
    - Padding is soft & seams are softly covered.
    - Material is nice. Lace is soft the foam is not scratchy
    - Visibility: no texture or lines showing under a mid-weight sweater, seams show on a super-thin t-shirt.

    ## SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO NOW

🤷‍♀️IDK, It fits ok but I think I can get a better fit.

🚨UPDATE:: I love the 32FF - Sister size, smaller band same cup volume - review: https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dn7qw/
I think it's because ... this band is a much stretchier "34in" band than other styles by Freya and the couple of other brands I've tried.

    Didn't fit

I am a big fan of the Freya Fancies line and would like to try all of the available options. As I am currently exploring Freya's padded half cups, I wanted to give this one a try. Unfortunately, while I like this bra a lot, I couldn't justify keeping it at the price that I paid, as the fit was comfortable but less than ideal.

The main issue is that the Fancies Padded Half Cup doesn't come in 28 bands, so instead of ordering my normal 28E, I had to try the 30DD. This is the second Freya that I ever ordered in a 30 band ... and predictably, it's too big. On the loosest hook it is absolutely riding up, so it fits similarly to many of the Fantasie 30 bands that I complain about. However, the problem is that this band is not firm enough for me, so even if I considered altering it down, I don't think it would give me the firm, supportive feeling I like. The wings are firm single-layer powermesh, but something about them doesn't feel quite stable enough for me, even on the tightest hook.

The second issue is that while the cups are the right volume and fit, I get the feeling that there's a shape mismatch going on, but it's hard to diagnose when the band is too loose. First, the cups are on the wide side, and they are also quite deep. The wide cups means that the wires actually sit a little further back on my sides than normal, though the cups sit flush against the body and I don't feel any emptiness in the cup from this additional width, which is probably because I am filling out the cup completely. The cup construction reminds me of a foam-lined version of the Panache Andorra Wireless bra that I tried a few months ago, which is also very wide in the cups but doesn't show any emptiness at the wide sides. Thus, I think there is some influence from a soft-cup bra in the construction and that's why it feels a bit different from a traditional underwire bra to me.

The cup is a 4 piece cup construction with a 3 piece bottom cup and a horizontal upper panel. Once again, this is the soft foam batting used in Freya and Fantasie padded cups, not the firmer foam used in Comexim, Ewa, or Parfait padded cups. I actually find the foam to be quite comfortable, but it does make the fit a bit trickier as the foam has no inherent structure on its own, and tends to magnify fit issues in a similar way that unlined bras do. The cup shape fits me reasonably well, but I get the sense that the shape distribution is not quite right. My impression is that the cup is a little too projected and closed on top for me, because the shape it gives me is not as rounded as I expect, but once again it's hard to tell due to the incorrect band size.

The lace used on the cups is exactly the same as the new generation of Fancies Unlined Plunge from 2019 onward, which is softer and not scratchy like the old Fancies lace. The trims are the same, with a long ribbon bow with micro dots. The straps are the only different feature, other than the different band construction. Unlike the standard wide straps found on the Fancies Unlined Plunge, the straps on this bra are quite narrow. I'm not sure why this change was made, as I think this bra would be improved with a firmer band and wider straps.

I found this to be a super comfortable bra for me, and I think I could even lounge at home in it (and I never wear underwire bras at home), but unfortunately this size on me fails at being supportive. Maybe if I can find this for super cheap, I would consider altering the band and seeing how it fits. I think this is a nice option that fits a little differently from a traditional underwire, but it is not for everyone.

Update: I’ve now tried the Fancies Longline in my normal size of 28E, and it fit perfectly. I think the issues I am having with this bra are due to the difference in proportions between 30DD and 28E, and the much more supportive band in the 28E Longline style. Unfortunately, the single layer powermesh band and narrow straps in this style are just not supportive enough for me.

My shape: Projected, average width roots, short roots, slightly bottom full, even horizontal fullness.
Finally a bra that fits! I am in love with this bra. The straps come in much more than my other bras so it doesn't chafe on my tail of spence. The cups fit nicely and even though my right breast is 2 cup sizes smaller I don't need an insert to fill it out. The material is soft and comfortable. The band is snug, slightly looser than an average 32, but comfortable and not riding up. If you have short roots I highly recommend this bra.

i absolutely adore this bra. i didnt go up a cup size when i went down a band size so i do have some quadboob, just barely though. i feel dumb haha but the reason i didnt is bc cups are always way too wide for me (even my other freya!) so i was thinking it would balance out; but the cups are actually suited for narrow roots! its so comfortable but it shows under most shirts, but i could care less about that! power to the bra wearers. a slay in my book

It fits quite well but I find that the gore is a little high for me. The lace definitely shows under shirts. The band is a little loose for a 30 but it fit me fine. It wrinkles a bit with my smaller breast but it is manageable.

The color of this is really nice and it's beautiful, but it did not work for me at all. My right breast is slightly smaller than my left breast. Somehow, even with FOB breasts, there was empty fabric at the bottom of the right cup. I couldn't figure out why but this was a no go for me.

My breast shape: Shallow-low projection, wide root, full on bottom.
    Height 5'7", weight 145lbs.
