This baby does keep the boobs in place, even in high impact activities! It has a considerable apex projection and is on the wider side...the band has 4 hooks per column, which is awesome!

It looks really pretty good on you! I hadn't heard good things about Freya's Activewear, but this looks like a nice option. Have you tried other full bust sports bras? I'd be curious how it compares to Panache Sport or the other encapsulation ones.

    • 2

I did the review of the Panache Sport in 30E here: http://www.myfashioninsiderblog.com/2015/11/lingerie-videos-panache-sport.html

In comparison, I believe Freya's option will grant more support to heavier breasts, but in the medium bust range I believe they're very similar. I think Panache has more immediate projection and Freya more apex projection! I find Panache's silhouette a little bit rounder and the padding of the underwire and straps softer and more comfortable...so my favorite to wear for medium impact activities is Panache Sport! :) They're both too wide for my frame, of course, but that was expectable!

I have the same one in 28F, different pattern and colour combo and I like it.

The Freya Active in 28F has an extremely tight band. I would suggest going up a size in the band. It has four sets of four hooks in the back, but I cannot imagine wearing it on anything but the loosest right now, and I'm about 27" around the ribs. Only get the 28 band if you are actually 26" or smaller, unless you want your back muscle and fat squeezed noticeably.

Cups seem true to size, but I can't tell that well due to the ridiculously wide wires and shallow-on-bottom, pointy cups. I assume this design is supposed to both minimize and encapsulate your breasts during ... exercise--and it works well; there's no bounce whatsoever. Other than the tightness and lack of stretch, the bra feels good. The only fabrics that are stretchy are the backs of the straps and the back of the band.

Center gore floats above my sternum, probably because the band is so tight and cups are stretched lengthwise, and it's probably supposed to be that way. The top comes up high, anyway, so you shouldn't have to worry about cleavage.

The bra is very well constructed and sturdy. The wires are very thick and stiff. However, the horizontal seams on the cups show through shirts, but I think it's substantial and good-looking enough to not have to wear anything on top. It gives a slightly pointy, but minimized shape.

I sold this bra because it was too tight and did not suit my shape.

The fit was just generally wrong on this one, and I found it hard to pinpoint the problem. Maybe I needed a way larger cup size. The structure looked promising, but I couldn't really judge how the wires felt.

I'm not sure about trying a different size, though. The bra also had a generally scrunched-up appearance vertically on me and fit oddly in places. The bra felt too wide at the armpit and the "sides" of the cup invaded the fold of my arms. I complained about this same shape problem in the other Freya Active bra I reviewed.

Straps too separated maybe? I noticed uploading my back view photo ... that they seem extra-separated.

The band also curled up everywhere. I'm pointing at the band curl in one photo. But the band visually lays smooth on several other reviewer photos, so clearly it's possible to get a smooth fit here. Maybe this would resolve in a large enough cup size.

The only comment I have about the wire-- potential buyers should note the gore is VERY high. This is a hard measurement to convey in Bratabase standard measurements due to the instructions specifying "fabric to fabric" - so for sports bras it will rarely reflect the actual meaningful gore height. But check out photos of this bra... those are some high-sitting wires at the center. They didn't even come close to tacking on me so I'm not sure how they would feel if they did.

I'm not sure about this bra. I might add 2 cups and try a 28G if there's one available on Amazon Wardrobe. Or maybe not. If it fit right at the armpits, I would have no hesitation.

First of all, the obvious... wow, is it ugly. Images speak for themselves... The cups are just so grossly saggy-looking.

Might be caused by too-long straps. See back photo for how little you can adjust. There is simply no way to make the straps tight enough.

On the plus side (the only plus) - the cup wires felt shaped and placed right! Gore didn't quite tack but I gave it cred anyways. This was the FIRST sports bra that had wires that felt even close to correct on me. But with the saggy feel to the cups in front, I wondered if they really had enough support for ... activity/movement?

Also on the wires, I noticed when measuring that a very short wire was installed, with 1-2" of empty space in the wire channels at the armpits. Maybe that's why I didn't have a wire fit problem, lol.

Armpit fit problems. Cups are too tall / wide. So even if I magically made the straps shorter in back, I'd just cram the sides of the cups further into my armpits.

The cup shape with that sloooooooowwwwww taper into the strap is just so bad.

This bra was also borderline impossible to clasp myself - so difficult that before I had it on, I wondered if it was worth keeping for that sole annoyance.

So basically everything about the fit was comically bad - and $70 LOL.

This bra looks amazing and the fabric is nice and soft! The black with purple accents is very striking and makes me feel like a badass, heh. I sized down in the cup as I do with Panache, which seems to have been a good choice for me.

The band is surprisingly stretchy compared to the exceedingly tight sports bra bands I'm used to wearing, which makes it easier to put on, of course. It seemed to stay in place pretty well as I wore it around, but that's no guarantee on how firm it'd be during activity. The four hook clasps are MAGICAL.

The wires are very wide, but ... I don't seem to have an issue with the width despite my not-so-wide breasts. There may be a little extra room at the top of the cup in my larger breast. However, I don't think I'll be keeping this because my smaller breast just seems to swim in the thing, to the point where the fabric dents in at the apex. Yech.

I might exchange it for a 28E, though I'm afraid it'll compress my larger breast too much. Decisions, decisions...

This bra fits well in the cups (only a tiny bit of wrinking on my smaller side), but the shape is too pointy for my taste. I could excuse the pointiness if it controlled bounce very well, but it doesn't. I'm a distance runner and hours of bouncing boobs hurts. The band is also more snug than I like, I have trouble fastening it on my own. I'll be returning this one.

I have close set narrow boobs and this bra fit ok since it didn’t cause pain. The fit issues are too wide wires and gore not sitting flat. This bra provided enough support and fit my shape well enough considering it is a molded bra.

I haven't had a new bra for running in about 5 years and I really needed one. After some research, I settled for this. The quality feels good and it has a J hook option which I like for running.

This bra is not standard Freya sizing. On Bravissimo's website it was recommended to go down one band size and up one cup size. 30F seems to work as a starting size for me in most brands and I have two Freya 30F bras and one 30E which fit OK. I thought a 28F might work as I didn't want the cups to be too big and not provide ... support when running. I was very wrong. I should have just trusted Bravissimo's advice and started with a 28FF.

The band feels supportive enough but the cups are far, far too small. I thought it might be a little tight but I am spilling out of the top and the sides, leaving me with massive armpit bulges. I will try this in a 28FF and 28G and hopefully one of those will work for me.

During my journey to find a bra that fits, I also decided to find a sports bra that fits. I decided to compare the top 3 companies for sports bras recommended on r/ABraThatFits: Panache, Freya, and Shock Absorber. My main goal was to find a sports bra suitable for running. For reference, I'm projected, FOB, center full, narrow roots, petite (4'11"), and normal bra size UK 28F.

This sports bra was nice but a little strange. The shape of the molded cups point upward in an unnatural way, so my breast tissue didn't fully fill the top of the cups. I could only fill out the cups if I ... scooped my breast tissue up into the bra, but of course any movement caused my tissue to slide back down to the bottom of the cups making it essentially useless for me.

The wires were also located very far below the molded cups, so they just sat over the bottom of my ribs and didn't provide any actual support for my breasts. I found the band to be true to size.

It did not pass my jog-in-place/jump tests, since there was space at the top for my breasts to move. Overall, the quality of the bra was good, and I think it could work for people who have FOT or fuller breasts.

I've posted links to my reviews of the other sports bras below for easier reference:

This fits *much* better than the 28E in the cups. The straps are placed slightly wider though, enough that I may not be able to use this bra for yoga, though I can use it for running with no issues.
I was afraid this bra would be less supportive in 28F, but it's not - it's just less squeezy.

Wires are way wide for me. I've got some empty space on the sides, and my smaller breast doesn't fill it out as nice. The underwires sit on breast tissue where the gore is. I'm not a fan of the pointy shape either, it's only due to the seams of the bra.

Even with all the poor fitting issues the bra really does work. It definitely eliminates any bounce. I'm free to run as hard as I want without any pain!

This is about the weirdest sports bra I have ever owned. It's also the best, so weird is good in this case. It doesn't seem to compress my chest at all I'm just as large in it as I am out of it. Despite this, it keeps me in place so that there is hardly any bounce. The design is pretty standard for a sports bra, but with the aforementioned cups that don't compress. Instead they are somewhat pointy, like an old fashioned bra. As to the fit the cups and band were too small, but it was the only size available and, sadly, it still fits better than any other sports bra I have ever owned.
