    Fits

SF Motyl is a softcup reissue of Opium. The fabric is the same, I never had the Opium but I believe some of the lace trim used on the brief bottom is also the same.
The fabric is soft and silky and stretchy. It feels like swimwear jersey and I like it. It's very light on my body.

I wasn't a super fan of the pattern on my screen - there's a yellow-ish green color in the pattern that is a huge turn off for me and I nearly didn't buy the set because of that, but I really like the lace topped SFs and decided to just get ... it anyway and see what I thought in person.
I'm glad I did, because I really like it! My set doesn't have too much of that color I disliked, and what is there blends in well enough that it doesn't bother me. The rest of the set overall is just really fun, flirty, and summery. It's very cute. I love the hot pink lace, the peek-a-boo gore she's been favoring lately, and the butterfly additions are a nice departure from bows and a throwback to old Ewa collections, and yes, they are fabric.

This SF fits me similar to my other lace topped SFs, that is very much like a BM. I get a nice rounded profile and the wires stay high enough for me to be mostly comfortable. I got this in a 70 band as the SF's gore sits too high on my sternum and right on a knot that likes to make its presence known. The band is pretty stretchy so I'm on the second hook while still taking advantage of the extra space of the larger band.
I have pretty wide spread costochondritis across my rib cage and it's the worst at my sternum, the gore on the SFs and BMs are really bad for me because they hit at that area and the wires are harder than they are in an SM. Going up a band size in this cut helps a lot and makes it so that I can actually wear the bra that fits me best without putting me in pain. I'm not sure I've mentioned this before, but that's why I'll mark 29" BM/SFs as too tight, but not 29" SMs.

Anyway, this bra has split straps. Ewa has done these before and I have removed them on every Gazeta I have had (4) because they chafed and I felt like support suffered for their presence. These are much better. The ribbon is softer and they don't bother me at all. They're very cute so I'm happy to be able to leave these loops intact. They're easy to remove, but I like the look a lot.
This SF does not have mesh under the stretch lace upper panel. Both my Babeczki and Owocki do and I expected this to as well. It's a bit odd that it lacks the mesh, but it honestly doesn't seem to have any impact on the fit of the cup and it fits and looks the same as my others.

I've washed this a few times and the lace is holding up well, sometimes Ewa's lace will pill up right away, sometimes it lasts forever. I'm not sure yet if this is the latter type, but it's not the former!
The butterflies at the gore and at the back of both bottoms sit on hot pink bows. It's an adorable look but the bows bleed when washed and those butterflies are now stained. I don't really mind, but I did want to note that. One could probably temporarily remove the butterflies for the first few washes until the excess dye is discharged and then reattach them to prevent the transfer of color.

The bottoms are cute and also stretchy. I got the briefs in 38 for my butt and the thong in a 36. Both fit well, but this specific cut of briefs isn't my favorite. It's way too full coverage for me. I wish it were skimpier or had a full lace back, but it is soft and smooth on my behind so at least they're comfortable.

Very cute! I’ve always loved this pattern. I’m not sure if I like the chp or sf version better. I’m leaning towards sf.

Oh she is a beauty who looks delicate, but make no mistake she is firm. This bra fabric and construction really reminds me of the SF Szaron. The fabric is more on the stiff side. Also note this fabric is the exact same fabric used in the PL Opium.

This bra is eye catching with pops of color that scream spring to me. The lower cup is made with the three part construction using the printed fabric over white non stretch fabric. The upper cup is one layer of bright pink stretch lace. The center gore has a white mesh keyhole with a cute white butterfly over a ... bright pink bow on it. The rocker of the bra has the bright pink lace that ends just before the side wings. The back band is the printed fabric over white stretch mesh. The back clasp is a bright pink 3x4 closer. The straps are a satin shine bright pink with the hardware being white. The straps connect to the front of the cup with a bright pink satin cord that also has cute white butterflies on them. Due to the nature of this fabric the band is firm, but still comfortable.

    Briefs in size 38:
I purchased the matching briefs when I acquired the PL Opium since the fabric is the same. The front of the panties is made using the bright pink lace over a white mesh. The side panels connect to the back panels with seams on the sides. There is a back seam up the rear. The back of the panties has a matching bright pink bow with a white butterfly on it. The panties have a cotton gusset.

Oh my god the butterfly bow 😭

    • 2

This looks amazing on you! It also looks like it gives a rounder shape than your other SFs. Or is it a trick of the light/angle? Either way it's gorgeous and I can't wait for mine to come! Btw, according to jlcl119 the butterflies on the straps and gore stain super easily so you may want to remove them for the first few washes and reattach them once the dye isn't so saturated in the fabric.

    • marilynne I feel this one gives a rounded shape as well. Much like the Sf Szaron. I think the stiffer fabric lends to it keeping more of its shape. Oh wow good to know on the color transfer. Tho I did wash it already and don’t notice anything. I wash mine I a caged bra bag with a load of like colors using cold water. Promptly remove and hang to dry. :)

The bra itself is really pretty. I'm not huge on the butterflies , so I wouldn't be sad if they "fell off" during a wash or whatnot haha. The band is too big for me.. I think I'm borderlining a 70 band as of now, or maybe it just measures big for a 75? I'm not entirely sure.

I had very noticeable "orange in a glass" going on when I first tried this on the loosest hooks. Using the tightest hooks seems to have fixed it considerably. Possibly another indicator that the tighter band would work better.

I'm not sure how I feel about the cutout straps, as I haven't worn it for an extended period of time, but it's a little annoying right now, so hopefully that will fix itself with time.

Debating on just returning this for a 70H sister size, but I've heard sister sizing isn't always the same with Ewa 😬😫

    • Oh, this one is gorgeous too! Is the band loose enough that you feel pain or strain from excessive weight on the straps?

    • Oh, how i love this bra. But the butterflies would be lost in my wash too :P

I'm also not certain I would like this kind of split strap. The ones on my Kinga bra have wider, flatter splits. These look more like round cords. Hmmmm

    • 2

AprilGoulding yeah I've had a number of split strap bras over the years (or more like decades hahah) and if it's not mini flat straps, it's typically 2 "tubular" shape cords or strands, sometimes even stretchy. I've never had split straps that hurt, despite being super sensitive in the shoulder area, but I feel it tends to affects stability a bit.

    • wendybien If I wear the bra on the loosest hooks, yes. The band rides up and I feel like all the weight is suddenly in my shoulders hanging on for dear life with those tiny straps 😂

    • AprilGoulding the straps are exactly what you think.. they're just really soft, rounded cords. If I have the straps adjusted as much as I need, they're borderline biting my collarbone bones, which I don't particularly like. I have a really bad slouching problem (that I'm working on currently) that often negatively impacts my bra fits, so I've also got to factor that in when I get a new bra :/

    • 2

DerangedDragons19 hmm, in that case between the questionable straps and the band being so very large (and aren't you in a weight loss process? It could soon be too loose even on tightest hooks) I really would consider exchanging... I don't know what your options are with EM, would they let you exchange for a different bra altogether...? If not maybe the 70GG might even work? Having those stupid cords sawing into you all day sounds like it would just make you tense up and make it that much harder to address any posture issues.

    • 1

wendybien I decided to take your advice and just return it. It doesn't make sense keeping a bra that's too big in the first place. I think the cups are actually just too big--same with my SF Garden. I can't return that one now since I've worn it a couple times, but at least I won't be stuck with ANOTHER bra that doesn't fit me haha. :)

    • I think that's a smart choice DerangedDragons19 . In my old age I've learned to be more ruthless about returning things--previously, for real I would agonize every time. You may be right about cup volume, it's a bit hard to tell from pics but you could be at that stage where either size is wearable if all the other fit factors are perfect--just not with this bra, since in this case there were several other things making the fit less secure.

This is my second SF Motyl and I have a third on the way. Fingers crossed that third time's the charm!

My stats: 26GG/H according to the ABTF calculator, slightly FOT, firm tissue, tall and narrow roots, center full, close set and functionally high set.

    The Look:
This bra's lace and straps is a very hot pink color, the lower part of the cup is covered in a soft and stiff fabric that has a vague floral poppy print. The straps and gore have white butterfly decorations. It looks adorable with an off the shoulder top, it looks like two butterflies are perched on your shoulders.

    The Fit:
The immediate ... projection on this one just isn't quite enough for me, it's the same problem I had with it in 60GG. The band also runs snug for a 55, it fits almost like a 24. The straps are super wide set but what else do you expect with ewa. The cups technically fit but I like a more compressed feel in my bras to truly feel supported. It gives a pretty round profile and the stretch lace is endless on it. It's almost as stretchy as the antonina's lace. If it weren't for me preferring a tighter fit in the cups I'd have kept this as it's utterly adorable and the immediate projection issue is hardly noticeable.

    Overall impression:
Look 10/10, fit 9/10, construction 9/10, comfort 8/10, quality 10/10. I think the aesthetic of the bra is perfect, this is a technically good fit for me aside from the straps and IP so I'll call it 9/10 but for my personal preferences the fit is 6/10. Construction is solid, just that pesky strap issue. Comfort is also good but the band runs a bit snug and I suspect I'd want to break it in with an extender and the straps are way too wide set for most women. Quality is as amazing as I expect from Ewa.

Motyl=butterfly- thanks to my current obsession with Ewa Michalak, I am learning a few Polish words lol! I absolutely love butterflies, I have plenty of butterfly jewelry and tops etc. They are a huge part of my personal style, so obviously I had to grab one of these as soon as I saved the money. And I’m so happy I did!

SF is Ewa’s take on a non-padded bra that gives the same shape and support of a padded one. I appreciate the engineering and thought she puts into her designs, both in the bra engineering and fashion design aspects. The bottom of the cup features 3-part seamed ... construction and a stiff fabric that supports itself, and the top part is made of stretch lace. I was worried that due to the nature of the bottom half of the cup it would lack the immediate projection I require, but the extra seams do the job very well at accommodating my projection. However, I still feel a marked difference between this SF model and my BM ones. My breasts are relatively smaller so the immediate projection aspect is not a huge deal for me as they are simply less heavy than, say, someone wearing an 80G compared to my 60G. Overall though, this seems to be quite sturdy and I have no worries of the structural integrity of the bottom cup. It is very tough!

However even though the bra feels very much durable, it is made of a soft knit fabric and delicate lace. The floral patterned fabric is very pretty and goes well with the vibe of the bra as a whole. It is very soft, and reminds me of Lululemon Nulux fabric. There is a tougher polyester-like lining on the stiffened bottom of the cup that I actually don’t mind. Usually I prefer cotton lined bras as artificial fibres are irritating but I have yet to complain about that.

The bright pink lace is the exact same one they use on the Roz i Juz line- it is very soft and has varying textures and hues that add depth and dimension to a seemingly simple lace. This lace is stretchy and on both the top of the cups and the waistband on the matching thong.

The butterflies are probably the sole reason I purchased this set, they are beautiful and made of fabric which I was honestly not expecting but was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting them to be made of plastic or something lol. These are perched on the straps of the bra and the gore, and decorate the front and back of the matching thong. The split straps are just below the butterfly decorations, and are not stretchy at all, but very tough- again, tougher than it looks.

There is a small peek-a-boo mesh gore detail under the bow and butterflies there, which is not stretchy and the same mesh/tulle they use to make most of the SMN models. I appreciate the resourcefulness of this brand, using fabrics from other models to complete a look!
