Using ABTF, I calculated my measurement to be 40H/40HH (UK) as a starting point. I’ve seen a few reviews saying this should may run a little small. It does contain all my breast tissue, but the wire eventually starts to irritate me as it is taller and wider than what is ideal for my shape and frame. Aside from that though, this is the first bra that lifts and supports my breasts and for that - I love it. I’ve learned more about bras and my shape in the last few weeks then I have in my whole life. My shape has major projection and I’m full on top, with minimal on bottom. I’m not entirely sure if the 40GG would have been a better fit, but I believe a smaller cup size (the 40 band is perfect for me) would not elevate the issues I have with the height and wire (wire leads under my arm past my root) Still learning but this was a good first try. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I think sports bras sometimes fit a bit different than regular bras, but that does look slightly big on you. Elomis also tend to run wide. Hopefully you can find some even better fitting bras in the future!

    • 1

Thanks so much! I think I saw @Elomi has one that might not be as wide. I think it's the Morgan style - I'll definitely try to experiment with smaller cups sizes. I recently picked up the panache Sports Bra 40GG and it's a bit too small in the cup. So I'll definitely have to keep note of the different brands and their fit. Whereas the 40H may have been too big in Elomi, it may have been perfect in panache if that style had gone that size. Or it could be the shape of the bra.. This is definitely an art. Heh :)

    • congratulatons on finding a bra thats fit so well. It is a lovely bra and does looks to fit you quite well.

    • "definitely an art"--totally agree, 50shadesofviolet Thrilled you can love this one! Best of luck during your search!

I have loved the quality of Elomi's fabrics...until now. This bra was made of tough, plasticky fabric. It was not nice to touch. The inside was ok but I did not like wearing it because it was so stiff.

Carmen is a plunge, a true plunge at this size, with a stretch lace top. The lace had an elastic edge which took away all the good fit qualities of the lace for me, but that's because I'm full on top and Elomi is definitely best for even to full on bottom folks. The wings didn't seem too high but the wires were ... definitely already bending back, like Elomi wires do. The band was nice and firm but stretchy. I think the elastic Elomi uses helps the band feel more stable.

I could have used more projection at the bottom of the cup and there was wrinkling. The texture of the cups is also on the straps which was cute. I liked the metal-like plastic adornments on the straps and gore. The straps were reduced stretch and fully adjustable. A good bra in a terrible fabric.

Another AW2015 design bra with terrible fabric. I could barely stand to put it on. When I removed it from the package I got the overwhelming smell of plastic. The bra itself, besides the lace and mesh top, felt terrible, like stiff plastic. It's made of some sort of tough laminate rip stop material. It looks soft and silky but it's nasty. The lace and mesh top is nice though. It's soft.

Anishka is a plunge, a true plunge at this size, with a stretch lace top. I could have used more projection at the bottom of the cup and there was a lot of wrinkling, which in this thick fabric showed through clothes. The straps were reduced stretch, ribbed to stay up, and fully adjustable. A good bra in a terrible fabric.

    • It's so beautiful! What a shame the materials are repulsive. SIGH.

I really wanted it to be soft and supple. I don't know why everything has to be plastic. I don't need to be lifted to the ceiling, just lifted off my ribs.

So sad! I wanted to get this for my mom (I like the half cup, but sadly it's not in my size), but she needs super soft fabrics and comfy materials :(

This is my regular size in Elomi. I usually size down one cup from my Panache/Curvy Kate size.

Fit: I had no support and containment in the cups because there was no projection at the bottom so my breast tissue spilled out the armholes (which were super high!). Also, it was so tall on the sides it was quite uncomfortable to move my arms (not great for activities). It was SO POINTY. My breasts actually couldn't fill out the points completely. A really terrible shape on me in general. The band, however, was just right: firm and supportive without cutting off air.

Comfort: Nice soft thick fabric. Elomi's elastics and materials are always top of the line. The thick straps were also quite comfortable. However, the fit precluded any real comfort.

Style: I liked the bright red-pink, which is Elomi's thing (I have three or four bras from them in a similar color). If only the fit was right!

So pretty, this is very silky and shimmery like what you'd expect from sateen. The bra is a little flimsy in the cups compared to my other elomies, this does not have the side panels you find in the plunges. It's a lovely bra, fits really well, has strong elastic and feels so well made it's like wearing air. The gor doesn't work if you have center breast fullness in combo with firm tissue because the wires are very much in charge. Which is a plus if you have a bra that is also the right shape, this bra would be great for someone with bottom fullness and a normal space between their breasts. It would also be great for anyone who has softer breast tissue, it is remarkably good at shaping for an unlined bra. Personally it is a bad shape match for me I'm gonna stick to elomi plunges they love me best.

Wires are a bit too wide, so they're not perfectly in my IMF after the first half of the breast, but they don't hurt in my armpit.
I think I have roots too short for this bra, because there's a little gap between my breast and the strap (2-3 cm), but the cup has no other empty space.
The straps are well placed for me and are comfortable.
The gore tacks and doesn't hurt.

This is decent compared to the Matilda. It is just a bit snugger than I would have liked it to be considering my tummy protrudes outwards right underneath my bust line. The stretch lace is nice, perhaps a little too snug near the center gore if I am positioned wrong. The wire sits great where it does considering it is more angled at a slope compared to the near straight up of the Matilda.

Trying on this bra new reminds me again of why it is the one of the best bras on the market for larger women. Everything is soft, comfortable, and supportive, as well as beautiful. The band is firm with wide elastics. The cups have an amazing amount of immediate and apex projection. There are real fit issues which take away from these facts, but if I were a splayed, wide set, FOB kind of gal, this would be my bra every day.

Fortunately for me I've come up with the solution to make this 100% my best bra for a close set, narrow, FOT like me: narrower, firmer wires, turning the cups into plunges, and narrowing the gore. This creates the perfect bra, and I've been successful with two of them that I already had, see: 42H - Elomi » Amelia Spacer Moulded Bra (8740)

  11. Etta Bandless Bra (8840)

Best Elomi bra for narrow breast roots, one of the few bras I own where the straps won't fall off my narrow shoulders. The band is not as long or stretch as much as other Elomi 40 bands I own. The shape is a rather unfortunate pointy 1940s look. The seams are thick and the horizontal seam will show under most clothes. The embroidery on the transparent portion of the cup can be itchy. There's a J hook for racerback.

This bra has atypical Elomi wires that do not stretch back and mold to the body. The wires are instead firm and quite narrow for Elomi, making them similar to Panache and Curvy Kate. The center gore is fairly low as well.

This bra produces nice rounded breasts but is wide set and built for wide roots. Under the lace is a satin non-stretch panel that is supposed to pull the breast forward. On my soft breasts it creates a line dividing my breasts which is sometimes noticeable. The lace can be scratchy under the armpit.

This bra has the typical soft Elomi wires that stretch back and mold to the body so if you need wider wires and prefer molding wires this is a good choice for you. Keep in mind that the projection forward may change as the molding happens however, especially if you have a lot of forward projection rather than side projection.

I'd love some feedback on plunges in this size range, (40h) because to me this is looking like a full coverage bra. The pattern is really interesting, and I like the fact that the outside of the cups is reinforced so it coxes the tissue onto the front part of the body. Which is amazzing and I'm sold for that point.

I bought the plunge because my breasts kinda V outward but are close together, so every gore no matter how narrow all came up to high and dug into the tissue. So it's doing it's job there. But is sure doesn't feel very plunge like/doesn't create cleavage.

    • So I wear mostly Elomi and am 36J/38HH right now. That limits my options in plunges since many are at an H cup "barrier." I tried Madison and it was a disaster on me . Kenza worked better but I really hate the stupid jungle print( not to my taste). I think you might like Elomi Carmen if you have not tried it. It comes in a nice new blue as well as black and beige. The stretch lace cup tops do a great job even on my soft tissue and the gore is a bit lower. There is also a helpful J-Hook.

    • AWESOME, this thing very very very nearly fits. I was looking at the Carmen but got this because I found a deal on it. That great info thanks! :-)

The straps aren't fully adjustable. I don't know why I didn't even realize this. I own three of this bra. I wore them before my weight gain...and with multiple band extenders when I hoped it was "just a phase" from the pandemic. Well, here's the data anyway. This bra doesn't fit me, but that's not surprising. I ordered a bunch of bras in the wrong size, but this section still needs more data. I am a bit surprised that the band is as tight as it is, but I think that HAS to be because the cup is just soooo small on me. Quad-boob hell. The Elomi Kim used to be my go-to, so I'd love to try it in a larger cup size than this. Unfortunately, it's not in stock right now, so I'll have to wait to see how that goes, but in the meantime, here are the measurements for the measurement gods.

First of all, this color (Pansy) is just such a lovely shade of purple. It's very jewel toned. If amethyst is your vibe, this colorway is for you. I don't think this cut has enough immediate projection for me, unfortunately. The material is a bit rough, as well. Has J-hooks. That's pretty cool for the narrow shoulder havers. High roots and narrow shoulders, get a buddy to help you adjust the straps because otherwise, it's gonna be a lot of taking it off and putting it back on. I think this one is a pass from me, but it didn't fit in the first place, so that's an easy pass (though, again, it's a VERY pretty color. bummer).

I love the look and feel of this bra...if only it fit. It's terribly unfortunate that they don't make this longline version in a larger band/cup than 40H. It's a beautiful peachy pink. It's definitely sheer enough to see nipples, so if that works or doesn't work for you, now you know. I like the longline style of this bra, but the wires are a bit high on the sides for me, however, I have high roots, so, I'm not a great barometer for average root havers. It's also not deep enough in the cup for the amount of projection I have, but the cup isn't even the correct size, so the depth issue is only going to be exacerbated.

There wasn't space to include a custom measurement, but from the top of the gore to the bottom of the longline lace is 15cm/6" & from the top of the wing to the bottom of the longline lace is 18.5cm/7.25". These are the measurements for the size 40H.

This pattern is so cute. The projection actually feels pretty good, even though this is clearly a smaller cup size than I need. It really makes me reconsider all the other bras that I ordered up multiple cups to try to fix my projection issue. I am a bit worried that the gore might not tack after I get a bigger cup because the gore is so high, but I'm hoping it's just lifting because of the cup fit, it's just lifted more than others. I wish the wires were a bit more narrow. I'm trying to steer away from going Polish, but mostly out of burnout from so many recently ordered bras that don't fit— and no access to in-person try-ons where I live in the US. I'm a big fan of Elomi bras and this one feels a lot like the Kim I used to wear before pandemic weight gain.
