  1. The navy/orange Ella has swifty become on of my favourite bras. It's a very nice shape to wear especially under V-shaped necklines, and since I wear lot of blue, I get the nice feeling of wearing matching colors even beneath my clothes.

The band is tight enough and the straps are fully adjustable. The bra gives good support, although the uplift could be better.

Even though I would go for a 28J in other Curvy Kate bras, the open-on-top design of the Ella allows me to size down a cup size to 28HH. I even fit a 28H, although I get a bit of quad-boob at the end ... of the day.

The shape of the cup from the side, though, is far from ideal, even though it smoothes itself out a bit when under stretchy clothing. The shape is best described on Bras I Hate's blog (http://brasihate.blogspot.com/2012/05/what-does-curvy-kateflirtelle-have-to.html) and apparently, this particular weird shape means that the cup size is too small. When I tried on the 28J, though, the edge of the bra cut into my underarms horribly, so I think that under these circumstances, I prefer a 28HH...

    --- EDIT ---

I've had the Ella for about two years now and have worn it so often that the wings are slowly starting to come apart. Otherwise, though, the bra is as good as new, so kudos to CK for some excellent quality designing here.

I wore the bra a lot, because it fit me well, was comfortable and was low-cut (good for V-necks). The shape, however... My boobs have grown a bit larger over the last two years and I am now more of a 28J (= 28JJ in CK), so maybe that was part of the problem, but the shape this bra gave me started getting a bit weird. Sort of splayed, east-to-west-ish, and pointy from the side. I still reached for it several times a week, but I haven't ordered a CK bra ever since... and I don't plan to do so either. I guess I'm just more of a Panache/Freya gal in the end.

But this first Ella will be sorely missed.

  2. I bought this bra in navy. I love the contrasting yellow and orange embroidery, and I also like the embroidery on the cups. The bow detailing is really pretty as well. The cups are made of mesh, and the bottom half has lining on the inside.

In terms of fit, before I even fastened the bra, I knew the cups were too narrow. Once the bra is fastened, the cups do stretch so I was able to fill up the cups no problem. The band felt fine, it was nice and snug but not tight.

Overall, the bra is gorgeous and it fit great. The problem is with the wires; they were poking me pretty badly. I could feel the pressure. I think it may be because the wires are trying to pull back to their original shape, but to be honest I'm not really sure.

    Fits

I have this bra in blue/yellow. There are few bras that fits me better than this one! My breasts are nicely rounded, perfectly separated while still retaining a little cleavage, and it keeps its shape all day long. The only minor issue is that I can get, after wearing it for hours, an ever so slightly spillage at my larger breast, but it's down towards the center gore, and not visible under clothes. This is no T-shirt bra, and the lace will show under the thightest fitting clothes, but I've worn it under fairly fitted clothes with no show-through. The material is very comfartable, with no itching.

The colour combination isn't the most elegant I've ever seen, but at least it's fresh and fun.

  4. Oddly enough, I fit into both the 28H and the 28HH in this style, the only difference is that I feel more supported in the larger size. Apparently this is because the bra is very open on top, and I have full-on.top boobage.

I'm quite a fan of the shape it gives the breasts, both from the front and from the side. It also gives much more support than the other Curvy Kate model I tried, the Criss Cross, though compared to my other bras, even this support is not that great. There's a lot of bounce when I wear the Ella :/

I love the blue/orange color combo, though. Great under low-cut blue tops!

This bra is beautiful and generally comfortable. The band is VERY stretchy, the cups are generous, and the wires are not too high in the armpit area. In general this is a great everyday bra!

    • Thanks for being the 1st to review this bra! I have yet to try a CK bra and have heard they can be very stretchy. Would you recommend size down 1-band and consequently up 1-cup (instead of 2) since they are "roomy" or just down 1 band?? What are your best fitting brands/sizes to compare? I find Panache bands usually tighter than Freya but Fantasie always seems to run TTS and best so I like to use them as comparison.

    • I think that the next time I purchase one of these I will get a 34G instead of the 36FF, they do seem to stretch quite a bit more than some of my other bras and I have been wearing this one on the tightest hook. If you go down a band I would only go up 1 cup size with this bra as the cup seems ever so slightly big.

At the time (my bust has since changed) the band was too tight and uncomfortable, while the cups were too small as well as wrinkling in certain areas. The contrasting embroidery was pretty, the cups are semi transparent. The the gores and wings are too short for my needs, particularly to move migrated breast tissue back into the cups. The straps are fully adjustable and adjust easily and hold very well due to the strap textures. The material is soft, as well as the embroidery. It was quite uncomfortable for me to wear at the time due to an incompatible shape, and now I've moved far past this size (to 28FF). It's a basic black bra with a little contrasting upgrade of colourful embroidery and ribbons. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

This bra is beautiful, but completely the wrong shape on me. My boobs are deep, narrow and slightly bottom-center heavy whereas the bra has wide wires and a high center gore. My breasts settle after a few seconds of wear. Only wore to try on.

    Fits

I really love this bra, but I outsized it before I got a chance to wear it. I have the Emily in a 30H and the fit of the Ella in 30H was much better for my shape - more give in the band and deeper cups.

I had to extensively bend the sternum away form my chest, and it still leaves marks. Same with under my armpit. My Freya Jolie in the same size does not hurt me under the armpit, but this one does.

Still fits me much better than the Emily though, gives a very nice round shape and of course the colour of this bra is beautiful. After 1 machine wash on the delicate cycle however, I've found multiple holes in the mesh of the bra.
