    Didn't fit

Well, this bra makes me feel sad because it's a pity that 70A is a small size for me. I can't even fill the cup! Every time I wear this bra it lifts up and embarrass me, so uncomfortable! I thought that this may be because it's too small (ha-ha), but then I noticed that my poor boobs can't fill the cup (I hate them so much). The straps want to leave me forever and fall down about a million times a day. If I make them shorter, the bra lifts up, kinda sansara. /Anyway, the Bratabase says that my size is B, or even C... I'm so miserable/
But the bra itself is pretty, if you have breasts and not so ugly as I am, you should try it.

It sounds to me that this bra is a terrible shape mismatch for you. Please don't let it affect your body image! When you find the right fit, everything looks and feels great!

    • Brash5 oh, frankly speaking, this bra fits me the best way. I have bras that are worse :(

    • 5

From your description, the bra does not fit you. The band should not ride up when you move. The straps also shouldn't fall down, this is a classic sign of a too big band and too small cup.

Sovavosi /thanks for a new word ('ride up'; I'm not a native English speaker, and it's still difficult to me to make myself understood)/ hmm, I don't understand how could a cup be too small if I can't fill it?

This person on Reddit explained it better than I can: (going to copy and paste her post in case Reddit is blocked where you live, but it is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/4coiek/measurement_checkrecommendations_wearing_38dd/)

The empty space in the cups is not always a sign of the cup being too big. There are several reasons to that:

Empty space on the bottom: Lack of immediate projection. Immediate projection is the projection you need at the wire. Imagine the place where your boobs connect to your chest. The angle they need there may be different. While some people have tissue that may be directed up at about 45 degrees here, others need almost a perpendicular 'shelf' here. If you bra is too shallow at this point, it just can't contain your boob's weight, so it slides down up to the point where it's projected enough to contain that tissue - so you end up with empty space at the bottom of the cup. Here is how it looks on me (I need tons of immediate projection in bras while this one is quite shallow at the bottom): I have both quadding at the top and empty space at the bottom.

Space near the strap: Short roots The bra may be of your size(i.e., volume and/or bust perimeter), but designed for taller roots while yours are shorter. This way your boobs may end before the bra ends, so you'll experiense some gapping at the strap, while you may have squishing and quadding at other points. Here is my issue with bra cups being way too tall for my short roots: see how the boobs end before the strap starts?

Empty near the top edge, but not only near the strap: shape mismatch. The bra may be designed for someone full-on-top while you are full-on-bottom, so the bra will be gapping a bit at the top while being your size. That means you need a bra of more closed shape.
Empty on sides: Shape mismatch or Wires too wide. Boobs may be fuller on center while the bra may be designed for boobs which are fuller on sides. Also, different bra models have different shapes, so in the same size some of them have wider wires and some have narrower ones. Wires being too wide may cause some empty space on sides(not always, depends on shape)

Empty at the center: Gore too narrow or Shape mismatch When one's breasts are set wider and the bra is designed for closer set breasts, the gore (the part which connects the cups) may be too narrow, so cups will start too close, so there will be some gapping as there's no boob yet. Also, the bra may be designed for center-full breasts while the person amy have side-full ones.

The most common reason. Are you putting the bra on properly? Do you place the wires on your IMF (the place where your boobs connect to your chest)? Do you ensure that there is no skin-to-skin contact between your breasts and your chest? Do you scoop-and-swoop to direct all the tissues from bottom and sides to the apex of the cup?

If you do a fit request and/or post measurements we are better able to help find a better fitting bra for you.

    • Sovavosi reddit works properly, but thanks anyway <3

    • cupandahalf great idea, I'll post my measurements in a minute

First, I must say I am so sorry you feel this way. You need to understand that there is a lot that goes into bra sizing, and it is both the cup and the band that create a bra size, not just the cup.

An A cup in a 28/60 band is smaller than an A cup in a 32/70 band, which is smaller than an A cup in a 36/80 band, etc.

You state that Bratabase says you should be a B to C cup, but what band size does it suggest? It is most likely that you are choosing the wrong band to cup combination.

Also, each brand varies in fit, so while this particular bra didn't work for you, there are plenty of other options available to you!

A less than ideal fit can be frustrating, but you are not alone in this-we have all been there and feel your pain.

We all have our insecurities, our weaknesses and mind demons. We are all affected by images that society has imposed on us as what is ideal. None of us meet those ideals. We are all just manipulated to believe this, as a ploy for marketing and sales of various products under the illusion that those products will help us achieve this unobtainable goal.

We are all beautiful in our own way. We all have a uniqueness that sets us apart and makes us perfectly special. Never feel ugly. You are not ugly!

I see several others have started offering some good suggestions, so I won't add more, but just had to say these words.

      Welcome to Bratabase. :-)

    • MamaPagan thank you a lot, so inspiring!
By the way, I've recently seen the statistics that say that most women of a country where I live have big breasts (so there are plenty of D and almost none AA cups in the shops), but I'm a woman of another nationality, may this affect?

    • 4

Breast size is determined by genetics. Also, D is not the end of the alphabet. I know they try and make it out that D is huge, but please look at these examples.

      This is a D on a 28 band: http://bra.pe/I1al/
      This is a D on a 36 band: http://bra.pe/IgYd/

They look very different and are of different volumes. Like MamaPagan said, the letter without the band size is meaningless.

Shops tend to supply what they feel will sell. It is the same everywhere so we all see that same sort of situation. Many of us shop online by necessity as we can't find our size in any local shops. Here in the US they limit both band and cup ranges so basically if you are a 32A-C, 34 or 36A-DD you are set, anything outside that range is typically "specialty" sizing and not so easy to find. Thus, the internet solution.

So from your measurements I would guess you would fit into bras sizes around 30B. I think the bra cups and band on this bra are both too big. But that's ok! There are lots of bras out there for you, and beautiful ones. Being slightly built is beautiful, and let me tell you big boobs can be a pain, literally.

Here are some bra brands that cater to your size range: https://thelingerielesbian.com/2013/06/12/the-best-bras-for-small-busts/

And here are some bloggers that might make you feel more like your body fits in somewhere (I guarantee it does):

Some of these gals might be a few cup sizes bigger, and sadly the perfect blogger for you, 30A wearing Lamb of Of Lambs and Lace, has a defunct blog, but you can still google pictures of her.

All of this is to say you are not alone and have lots of bra choices, so don't give up yet. I tried on 150+ bras but I am an unusual size with less choice than you. And I have some good bras!

Agree with cupandahalf a 30/65 B would likely fit better. I have a few 34B/C bras (which is to large a band for me) they ride up in front horribly and the cups look incredibly empty. However if I pull the band back so it tight against me In front the cups are filled or even overfilled. And you shouldn’t feel ugly! Your not. MamaPagan said it better than I possibly could, and she is absolutely right. we’re all unique and there is beauty in that.
