I really had high hopes for this bra, considering I have had good luck with the cleo Maddie, and this was supposed to be an updated version. The cups are really small on this and much more enclosed than the Maddie. I'm not sure if a cup size up would fix this problem or if it's just the wrong cut for me. It did not feel similar to the Maddie, other than they are both molded balconet bras, but they are cut very differently to me.
This is the shortest molded cup bra I could find. The band is surprisingly stretchy for Cleo though. I wear it on the second or third hook, but it works well enough for when I want a seamless look. I always like to have a molded bra around just in case 😂
Lexi is one of the few bras that technically fit me, but I just don't love enough to keep. While on paper this style has a lot of good qualities, it also comes with some issues.
The Lexi cut is very similar to the Maddie, which fits and flatters me very well. It's a wide balconnette shape with short cups and wide-set straps, and gives a very rounded appearance similar to a corset. Because of the short cups, it works for FOB and shallow on top folks because there's not much potential for gapping. However, if you are used to a standard demi cut, the ...cups will visually look quite short and small to you. I also find that the shadow stripe satin fabric visually contributes to this effect.
The main thing I dislike about this bra is the thick upper binding on the top edge of the cup. While Maddie also has an upper edge detail, it's a lot less noticeable under clothing. I found that under tight clothing, this gave me a very visible seam running across. Since I prefer unlined bras for everyday wear and would only wear a molded cup bra under tight fitting tops and dresses, this defeats the purpose. The cups are also on the shallow side, so the cups can border on quad-boob at times, but I have tried Maddie in 28E and it was far too big. I could use just a little more depth and height in this cup for a slightly better fit.
In addition, the wide-set straps sit on my body at an uncomfortable place, and it's tricky to adjust the straps in order to provide enough support to keep the cups from sitting too far away from the body, but not apply too much pressure to the muscles and ligaments at the top of my shoulder. However, I like the solid band that feels nice and supportive.
This would be a good style for FOB, shallow on top people who need the lift and support of a balconnette style but don't plan to wear very tight-fitting clothing over the bra. I also think it would suit people with a broader frame so that the wide straps fall on a more comfortable part of the body. Read more 277 more words
My breast shape: Shallow-low projection, wide root, full on bottom. If they had this bra in a 36C, I would definitely try it because it seemed like it would be a wonderful tshirt bra. Unfortunately, the cups on this bra were just too big for me. Comfortable though!
This bra is close to perfect for me! It runs really small in the cup (I come out as a 30E in the abtf calculator) and this one is still too closed-off at the top. Maybe it's an issue with my (maybe) tall breast roots. It comes up pretty high in the armpits and chafes a bit when moving around, so it wouldn't be the best for shorter women I think. The underwires trace my IMF perfectly, and the band is just the right size/firmness. I worry that the 28G will trade the quadding issue for too-wide wires, but we'll see.
I first tried Lexi about a year ago after having some success with the Cleo Maddie in 28DD. It fit me at the time, but I didn't really love it, because Maddie was a better fit, and the thick upper edge binding on Lexi was more visible under clothing. Amazon had a good deal on this in my current size so I gave it a try anyway. I didn't really expect to love it, and sure enough, I didn't.
One point I had forgotten is that Lexi is pretty shallow-friendly, as the cups are quite short and on the shallow side. This time, I also ...noticed that the shape is a bit of a mismatch for me. Once I have this on and am fully scooped and adjusted, I have massive overflow, but I can feel the center point of the cup is a bit empty. Therefore, the cup is a bit too projected at the center, while also being too short and slightly too shallow overall. I don't think I should size up in this style because Lexi and Maddie are both quite wide balconette styles, with wide-set straps, and I would not want the straps to end up sitting in my armpits.
This style gives a good push-up appearance if you are on the shallow side, as I remember being impressed with how this gave me a corset-like appearance in my smaller size. However, if you are average to full, I think the cups are simply too short to be a good option.
The band is decently firm and TTS for a Cleo 28. It is made from the same silky microfiber shadow stripe fabric that covers the cups, with very firm elastic throughout. The leotard back is a deep U at the center of the back, unlike the shallow leotard backs that Freya tends to make. Cups are molded foam and slightly thicker and firmer than average compared to most current US molded foam bras on the market. The overall look of the bra is clean and attractive, with shadow stripe fabric throughout and minimal trims, but the thick upper binding ruins it for me. I wish they had done a clean-finished edge to keep the bulk down, because you can really see this through clothing. Straps are also plain medium-width elastic and fully adjustable, but are totally smooth and slippage could be an issue. The only trim is a bowtie at the center gore. A good basic for shallow folks who need their bras to do a little more lifting than most UK bras offer, however watch for that upper binding! Read more 339 more words
I really want to love this bra because I need a good T-shirt bra right now, but this isn't quite the right fit for my boobs. Since I am a bit center-heavy, I have quadding towards the center top of the cups, and gapping towards the outer part of the cups right before the bra strap.
Based off the measurements I had hoped this bra would fit, but unfortunately it gives me quad-boob. The center gore bends my breasts strangely but I'm not sure if it'd because it's too wide or because it's too tall. I think the cup is too short as well. Unfortunate because it's really comfortable and cute!
