This bra is a disaster on me. Everything about it is just wrong for me. The band is true to size for a 30. The cups run a tad large, and just don't suit me in any way. The actual bra is beautiful and feminine. I wish it fit! If balconettes and vertical seam bras work for you this could fit the bill. It does have room for considerable projection and the gore is fairly narrow (if high). The straps are wide set and so is the overall profile. The mesh on this is much softer than on the Dessous. The bra sure is beautiful though!!

I have this in the Mauve color in 30E and it fits the bottom half but not the top. Considering ordering the next size down and inserting a wider wire because these bras run narrow imo.

Hmm, so this is my third best fitting Dessous (best: Parma Violet/Concrete, second best: Peacock/Concrete) - it is an older season than either of the afforementioned colourways, and if I'd known how differently they fit I may not have bothered with this one unfortunately (I cannot return as was from Brand Alley). The fit is a 6/10 for me - the wires are narrower and a lot shorter than the other two, for me neither of these is a good thing. The narrower wire I could probably handle if it was longer - as it is its very easy for my breast to escape out the size rather ... than being fully and comfortably encapsulated. The gore is great - a good width and height for me. The cups could do with being a tad deeper - although they fit and seem to smush my boobs a bit making them looking even more shallow than they already are. The straps are THIN! Too thin for my liking and thinner than either the PV/C or P/C. The band is tighter than recent seasons - would be fine if it wasn't for the wires issues described above.
Still a pretty bra but I'll see how often I actually wear it...

  6. Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000)

I'm trying to decide whether to keep this bra or not - I bought the same bra in Parma Violet/Concrete colourway literally a couple of weeks ago, and it fits wonderfully. When I saw my size pop up on Asos in this Peacock/Concrete colourway I madly bought it before it could sell out again. I didn't even consider that it may fit differently as I was under the impression that both bras are from the same season. I'm still pretty sure they are - but the fit differences, whilst subtle, have quite a big impact (for me at least).

Differences: the lovely thick straps on the ... Parma Violet have gone - the Peacock has straps that measure just 2/3 of the width of the PV ones - a shame as I love thick straps but probably good for people who prefer a slimmer one.
Band length - Peacock measures just under an inch shorter unstretched than PV- I'd say Peacock is true to size and PV a tad looser.
Wire shape - although the measurements don't show a lot of difference, the Peacock has wires that are undoubtedly narrower/more of a pronounced U shape - PV's wires are far wider and that's one of the things I loved about it initially.

I have two more Dessous on order from BrandAlley (Navy/Limeade and Seafoam/Khaki from previous seasons) so am curious (read: somewhat scared!) as to how differently these ones may fit...hmm. I'm in two minds of whether to keep this one - I love the look but it doesn't fit me as perfectly as PV. If I didn't have two more on the way I'd prob keep this one...but we'll see.

Also: my disbelief regarding the sizing of the Claudette bottoms has turned to utter indignance: I ordered a large and XL thong (no briefs available in this colour unfort) and both are TINY!!!! I didn't even take the large out of its plactic-y confines as I could see it was minuscule - I tried the XL and knew it would still be muffin-top inducing. This is ridiculous! I'm a very normal sized UK12!

    • I have a L thong, and it is crazy small. I am hoping the XL panty will be a better fit.

The sizing from year to year is definitely different.

Some seem to fit a bit deeper in the cup, and stretchier in the band.

    • While I have no comment on knickers since I am way too chubs for the known small sizing on the Claudette choices, I think the straps do vary on the Claudette Dessous. If you take a look at my 36E - Claudette ยป Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000) , I posted a pic of me wearing the seafoam colorway. It wasn't my favorite so I returned it - otherwise I would measure it for you! I have the Peacock, Chinchilla, Neon Pink, and True Blue if you would like me to check one of those for you!

  7. Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000)

Wow, I can't believe how far I've come in my bra journey! This bra is everything I thought I would never like, and everything I thought would never work for my boobs.
How wrong was I?! It's completely non-padded, non-moulded, non-lined and SHEER! ie no hiding what your boobs really look like. I imagined they'd look unpleasant and the bra would be very impractical as I couldn't wear it under anything but a large jumper for fear that my nips might show. As someone who lives Monday-Friday in moulded bras, I'm now looking for more relaxed, natural boob-shaped bras for weekend wear.

I fell in love with the ... look of this bra and ummed and ahhed after reading copious reviews - I found it on Asos in this beautiful colourway. I was lusting after the teal/grey combo which had sold out in my usual 30E, so ordered this instead as an experiment, convinced I'd try it for research (and likely be able to cross it off my lustlist therefore eliminating it from my dreams) and return it .... ha, yeah right! It fits me really well and is really flattering.

It's a very modern, mature bra but the amazing colours give it a really fresh, youthful vibe - this combo of clean lines, classic unfussy design and bright colours makes it feel really perfect for someone of my age (big 3-0 next year) but equally so for any age group! Quite a feat in design.
It is definitely fairly large in the band - but not so large that it rides up. My usual size of 30 is ok for me, in that it didn't budge whilst being worn - and that was with me moving around picking fruit this morning, so that's a good sign! I'd be curious to try a 28 just to see what it's like, but imagine 30 is right for me.
The band seems stretchy, as do the straps - I need to tighten them quite a bit, like Cleo Maddie, but these straps are wider than Maddie so don't feel as flimsy.
The straps are stunning (I never thought I'd obsess over such a small detail!) - soft matte dove grey with a shiny ribbon like stripe running up the middle. The wires are GLORIOUSLY wide! They're poifect for me! Not quite as wide as @Tutti Rouge Liliana, but close I think.
I get a slightly rounded, somewhat minimised natural look in this bra and I love it! Its just right for the current British heatwave. The diagonal seam on the cups is perfectly placed to cover your nipple, just showing the areola. It's a surprisingly good look which not only I but my boyfriend think is rather sexy! Shocker.
The bra is very comfortable for me and makes me feel great https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":-D" />. Shame I don't have the matching knickers - I tried a medium (my usual size) but they were tiny! This is the most expensive bra I've ever bought (full price unfort!) but I have no qualms about it - and am even trying to source some more in other colours!

First and foremost, the straps are too wide set, maybe for someone whose shoulders are at least 2 inches wider on each side.

Although the underwire itself isn't too long, the cups are cut so that the sides dig into the arm pits.

Secondly, there isn't much support. The fabric is neither stretchy enough to mold to the breasts nor stiff enough to hold up the breasts.

As for the band, when hooked on the outermost set, I can fit a fist beneath the band. The second set of hooks, a flat hand.

When I ordered this bra, I hoped very much that it would fit me well. After all, it was regarded a good bra for shallow breasts with wide roots. The bra itself is pretty enough. Unfortunately, it's for very shallow breasts with very wide roots.

The band: It is comfortable. I can secure on the first set of hooks for the just right tightness (unlike the 30D & 30DD of the model I tried, whose bands may have been stretched out and hence needed to be hooked on the 2nd set of hooks). The 3 hooks per column is fantastic. The side boning is wonderful.

The straps: Very wide. ... Feels as if it's cutting into my chest at times, though if I place it just where my pecs meet the shoulders, it feels comfortable enough since it actually pushes the migrated breast tissue toward the breast initially.

Cups: The problem seems to lie with the cup design itself. The center gore at the bottom is too wide, the cups too wide as well, and the underwire too long.
If the gore lies against my sternum, the underwires sit an inch beneath the bottom of my breasts and an inch beyond the side of my breasts. The underwire seems both too wide and long for my breasts, and the cup design on the side cuts into my arm pits so that I can't raise the cups. Worse yet, eventually, the bra cup design pushes some tissues around my armpits to my back rather than enclosing them within the rather wide cups themselves. Moreover, if I do try to make the underwire sit just beneath my breast tissue at the bottom, the center gore sits atop my breasts instead of the sternum. The center gore at the top of the bra itself might fit my dimensions, but the gore widens significantly at the bottom. YET, all at the same time, I get a very slight quad-boob effect at the top because the cups are wide but very shallow. When I lean over slightly (as you can see in the pictures), the quad boob effect becomes more pronounced.

So, it's just not the right fit. Sadly.

Lastly, although the bra is named a "padded bra," it's more like a spacer bra. There is actually no padding, just a foaminess to the cup.
