Full coverage as the style implies. Very thin material with lacy mesh and embroidery on the outside. No extra padding or lift except for the underwire to hold you in place so make sure your band is a proper tight fit otherwise you do tend to jiggle. If you're in between band sizes you'll want to double-check the fit, I was at 41" around the ribs when I got this bra in a 42 and regretted not going down to a 40 instead. The gore tilted forward at the top instead of sitting flush and I had to tighten it all the way to the last clasp. All in all it was comfortable but band seemed to run large on me.

Smooth across the boobs--no lines. No underwire or bones, therefore, no support. Maintains shape for a very long time. Larger breasts will tend to weigh down the cups allowing for saggy syndrome.

This bra fits good when you first purchase it but then after a few wears into it, it will stretch out and it becomes the old faithful that's still brand new. Does not have an underwire and 100% cotton. Therefore, no support for larger breasts. It tends to sag with weight and eventually looks as if you're not wearing a bra.

It's a very comfortable bra, and until I was sized as a us 38H, it was my favorite bra, I had it in every color it came in, and it was my daily bra. The bra gives a beautiful round and uplifted shape to the breast, and due to the cotton material, is great for absorbing the under-boob sweat some of us busty ladies have to deal with.

I had just bought some new ones when I was sized properly, so I figured I'd sell them.

    • hi, it says that this bra fit you but then you were sized as a 38H? then this should be too big in the band right? :)

    • Looking back now, it was too loose, but cacique has pretty stretchy backbands so it felt "firm". Plus, at the time I was wearing them, I was about 20 pound heavier & my underbust measurement was about 2 inches more.

    • oh, then you should report as if it wouldn't fit for your current measurements :), as it used to fit when your underbust was bigger right?

    • Nope, these bras didn't fit, and I didn't know any better- . I was 4 inches too big in the band & 3 or 4 cup sizes too small. I'd just been wearing the wrong size so long, I got used to it.

    • Even being 20lbs heavier, they didn't fit right- band was too loose & I was always pulling it down,

    • Right, I was suggesting you edit how this bra fits you and report that it doesn't as right now it says that the bra fits you :)

I would definitely recommend this bra! It's been a staple in my closet for years. When i found this style of bra, it changed my silhouette forever. I have had many compliments on my chest, bra, size of breasts, where they sit, perkiness etc (from friends or family that know me and give me compliments or criticism) whenever i wear this bra.

I find that since the sides of this bra are re-enforced with a built in straight wire, my sides do not roll at all and stay flat against my body which was a huge plus for me. Also, this bra gives exellent cleavage and has air ... pillow slots (pillows included) that i can take out or leave in depended on how much cleavage i want. Also, since I'm not entirely symmetrical, sometimes i leave in only one air pillow in order for my chest to look even.

A con would be that this bra can stretch out rather quickly. The band stretches quite a bit and i find that the band rides up in the back. Even when i fasten using the last hook, the band still rides up but then, most of these bras are made from cotton so it naturally stretches out. The good thing is that these bra's are pretty cheap (especially when you get them during their sales which they have all the time!) so they are pretty easy to afford.

I really like this bra - it is my daily wear, go-to bra. They come in a number of colors and I already know they fit me, so overall I've been really happy with them.

Pros - I like the shape a lot, nice and round. The wire does not dig into my armpits like other bras do. The straps are comfortable and wide, but not ridiculously so. It's pretty fashionable, for a big bra. I feel like the band fit well and supports most of the weight of my breasts rather comfortably.

Downsides - the band stretches over time and when it does, it settles further down so I get less support - have to do the hooks up tighter. A few bras have stretched enough to where they do not stay up properly. Also, the straps tend to lengthen themselves with wear, so I have to make sure to adjust them.

Most everything about this bra is good, except the straps are too short and won't adjust and lengthen anymore. The lace is very sexy, but also very wearable for everyday looks, Even though its a larger bra for bigger breasts, there are removable "air-like" pad inserts for that extra push-up.

The straps are too loose and they don't stand up well to the weight of my breasts through the day - I can start out having them at one length and by the end of the day, it's completely different. The bra stretches pretty quickly and the underwires tend to pop out the sides of them in a couple months.

This bra is OK. The underwire ribbing in the sides (under the arms) tends to dig in along the bottom of the band, making it uncomfortable after awhile. The top of the underwire under the arms also tends to rub. Boobs also tend to slide toward the center where there is no fabric, causing slight quadboobage. Straps are comfortable though.

I've been with this bra since 2009 & still have my 1st one. I'm not of the "handwash & hang to dry" bra school... mine gets worn, tossed in the wash, and dried on low with all my other clothes. 2 years of that treatment? It still looks brand new & is just now starting to show some wear in the elastic.
Warning... Cacique runs small in band size & in this model, there is not alot of stretch, so plan on going at least 1 size larger than normal. Cups are close enough to size that your 1 band size up equilivent ... should be fine on most. (Ex... I was in a 36I Panache (36G UK), wear a 38H in this but can also do a 40G with relative ease.)
My only complaints about this bra have to do with the strap lenght & the cut of the cup sides. I have narrow-ish shoulders & high breasts.. which leads to the straps having to be pulled all the way tight to not slip. In having to pull the straps that tight, it causes the cup right in front of the underarm to rub/dig in depending on activity. (Yes, normally the cure for both of these problems is going down a cup size... tried that... got uni-boob syndrome & still had to pull the straps all the way tight)
Overall, a high quality, comfortable bra that works with almost anything you wear over it. Just cut the straps shorter, move the outer curve of the cup & give me more colors https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Oh yes...buyer beware... there are 2 versions of this bra on the Cacique/Lane Bryant website. The "modern fit" balconette is the one I have reviewed & worn for 2+ years. The "smooth" balconette is much more stretchy and has very small cut cups. (My bestie wears a 42D normally & it fit her to perfection)

I bought this bra some years ago and wore it for a few formal events. Now I know I was always wearing too loose a band. So, it was never a GREAT fit for me, but aside from that, I think it's a very good bra. In fact it fit me pretty well then, and I know now that I was wearing too loose a band.

I have not worn this bra in years and my current size is 32H, so I didn't try it on today to fill out the fit section of the review. It is measured thoroughly though.

The good: it has removable, clear straps that can ... be reattached in a variety of ways. You can wear it as a strapless bra or as a halter bra, regular straps, criss-cross, etc. It also has very thin silicone strips along the top and bottom of the inside. This is AWESOME because it helps to keep the bra in place, especially when you are wearing it strapless. I also like that it has a little bit of vertical boning in the back band; this helps to keep the band from rolling or bunching. It's very well-designed.

I found it to be comfortable and to stay put better than any strapless bra I've owned.

Looks: it's a plain black contour cup bra. Nothing exciting, but I like that, because it is unobtrusive under a strapless or halter dress in black. It offers good coverage, though, and I never felt like I was going to spill out.

This bra did stretch - not so good in the band but as the cups were a little too small, it doesn't poke very often. I think it would be a very good bra if I had it in the correct size.

    • Having the very same scenario is what led me on a bra crusade, which ultimately led me to bratabase. I wish I had found bratabase, other retailers, and other brands sooner!

Obviously as this post is over three years old (but for the sake of anyone who comes across it), you must have found your answer by now. You just fell off the bottom and top of Cacique's size chart. The largest cup they make in a 36 band is a DDD, and if you were a 38DDD, you're now a 36F (by their sizing), and that does not exist there.

And that brings up the fact that they have their own size chart that is not congruent with either the US size chart or the UK size chart. You know, because trying to bra shop with a new size on the internet isn't hard enough already.

I love this bra I've had it for over a year, and I've worn it a lot.

Very comfortable. Great support and lift.

It has stretched out some and the "side" underwire is poking though on the bottom of each armpit.

I'm trying to find a similiar model to replace it now.
