    Didn't fit

    Why bra you don't work???

I just received this bra today. I decided to go with a Georgia full cup since it has the same shape as Selina and Darcy but was on sale. Bravissimo recommended the 34K to me, after I told them that I have some wrinkling in my 34KK Darcy.
When I took the bra out of the package I noticed that it appeared somewhat flimsy. It does look lightweight and not sturdy at all like on the Bravissimo pictures.

When I tried it on... what I expected: perfect fit, like my 34L Bravissimo bras with similar shape used to fit. What I got: a somewhat really weird ... fit.
I don't know is it too big or a weird shaped bra???

    The issues:

There is very slight wrinkling at the top of the cups. It is very minor but it feels like I would have some extra room there, if my boobs were even fuller on top. A good thing for full on top shape.

The cups are very deep and projected, I get to fill the bottom of the cups quite well. On the side I have some empty fabric, as the wires are about 1-2cm too wide (this is standard for me in every bra so if everything else would be ok, I would not mind...). The cups are really really tall. They come up really high under my arms. No way some underarm fat can escape these roomy cups.

At first I only moderately adjusted the straps but when I saw the wrinkling, I adjusted them as short as possible. I still think, I could make them a tiny bit shorter if it was possible. I posted 2 pics where I hold up the straps some more, it would make the shape from the side better and get rid of wrinkling.
The lace at the edge of the cups is stretchy. The top section of the cups is a flimsy stretchy fabric but has a non-stretchy lining for stability.

I find the band quite stretchy for a bravissimo bra, not up their usual very firm bands that I know from Darcy, Selina, English Rose and Urban Rose. When I shorten the straps to the maximum I feel like the band rides up. I know it does not really but it feels like it would during longer wear. The band is not really too big tough. Probably it feels big because the cups are too big. Also I find the shape quite pointy from the side. It is not too visible in the Pictures but compared to my Tango or Ariza it is more pointy.

I only wore the bra for 10 mins since I most likely have to return it, but I kinda have the concern that the bra could become unsupportive over the day and I get neck pain from pull on the tight shoulderstraps. Also the gore could get uncomfortable as it would dig into my boobs.

Another issue I have is that the wires at the gore Always fold over each other no matter how I adjust my boobs in this bra. I don't know why that happens. I don't think that there is not enough center projection. I find the cups deep, wide and tall usually this is what I need in a bra (although I need more tall and deep than wide cups). I don't know if I should get a 34JJ or just let this one be and go for another Darcy or Selina if left in my size…

Oh I've been looking to get Georgia! This colour is absolutely amazing. Sorry it wasn't that good of a fit :(

    • brasaremean yess it's such a pretty Color! I was happy to find a pretty Color left as this years new bras are mostly black or dark colors which I don't prefer. It might work better in your size, I don't say it's a bad bra.

    • Sorry it doesn't fit, it's a nice colour. Honestly it looks so tall that I doubt anybody could fill it...

    • 1

Sovavosi yes it has super tall cups. I'm confused as I used to get a good fit in similar shaped bras from Bravissimo. Maybe there is a reason this model is discontinued and sale and Selina is still around. Maybe they had many returns.

    • If only I had ordered 34JJ too, I be curious if it's solved by a smaller size… but I never thought that 34K would be too big.

    • Beautiful color, sorry the fit wasn't ideal. :-/

    • Definitely not centered enough/not enough center room here. That’s why you are getting those inside wrinkles I think.

    • 1

I returned it, it was an odd fit. I also won't get another, I found the material was not very good. I think the wrinkling at the center could also have been because of that flimsy fabric? I don't get this Kind of wrinkling in 34K - Bravissimo » Melrose Bra (SB25) or 32KK - Bravissimo » Erin Bra (LN441).

    • 1

Sorry it didn't work out for you, but I think it was a wise decision to pass on this one as well, given the dissatisfaction with the materials.

    • alisa, you describe the material as being flimsy and lightweight. A buyers comment on this bra on the Bravissimo website indicated the same feeling while another felt it was more like bikini material yet the stock images and your own pictures suggest to me the material might be similar to the Selina. I really like the look of the new Georgia Mint colourway Bravissimo has but your review has me questioning whether I should get this or not. You mentioned the band is stretchy compared to the Selina but how about the cups?

    • l454d Hm... it's not the same weight of material than Selina or Erin, it's thinner. Like on Alana, but less scatchy fabric than Alana. Georgia cup is soft material but thin mesh like Alana, it's double lined in big cups. I don't think it's similar to Bikini material, but it looks a bit because it's more shiny than Alana fabric.

I don't think it's a bad bra, I don't want it to come over like that. Also the bra did not fit me properly so it was already a dissapointment. In the right size I probably would get less wrinkling. The band also could have felt too big because the cups were too big and I adjusted the straps so tight they pulled the band up in the back? But I found Georgia bra more stretchy because it's just a mesh stretch band like on Alana and not covered in lace like on Erin. No stretch in Georgia cups. I hope I made sense.

alisa, thank you for your insight.

    Didn't fit

The Georgia is discontinued now. Apparently it's similar to Bravissimo Selina, but I find the Selina to be a bit more open on top.
I struggled with this Georgia bra, the cup edge would cut in. Apart from that it's quite decent on me. I put it away for when I loose a bit of weight.

In the mean time I received two 32KK bras that cause lot's of other issues so I went back to my 32Ks.
So I found a way to make this bra work: I added an extender on the inner most row of hooks and close it that way - so the extender only adds ... like 1 cm over extra band, but that gives me the space I need in the top of the cups. The cutting in is suddenly gone! Sometimes bra issues are caused by such tiny details.

On the other side I did not find the band to be too large, so I won't be able to go "larger" with the extender or loose support.
Fabric is actually quite nice, it feels soft and it's on the thinner side but not flimsy. The shape I get is round and centered. The bra is supportive and the wires are average width and the gore is a bit lower compared to other bras in the size range.

Great creative problem-solving! I'm learning so so much about my own shape and how to trouble-shoot bras from reading your experiences! Namely, not to be so rigid in my thinking of fit/doesn't fit. Good for you!

    • The problem solving helped for 1 day and on another day I had to remove the quickly because it felt not supportive enough.

    Didn't fit

I will not write a too long review as this bra is discontinued and there are only a few sizes left to buy.

The Georgia bra is a full cup but it has a lower gore and lower cut cups than previous full cup bras by Bravissimo.

The bra does not fit me, it was too small in cups. The band is true to size and a good fit. The wires are a good width for me, I usually need HH/J wires for width but the cup depth of J/JJ.

This bra is not shallow but it's a much shorter cut than you expect from a full cup. I get overspill and my upper breast tissue is not supported. Also since the gore sits quite low it hurts me. My boobs overspill at the centre and the gore cuts into breast tissue. There is no stretch in the upper cup. This bra is cut all wrong for my tall, projected and full on top shape.

  4. In the spring of 2019, I decided to give the Georgia a try. I really loved the mint Alana I purchased a few years earlier and I feel the same with this one. Comfort and support are quite good with very little quadding on either side. The cup material is a little thin, an observation that a fellow bratabaser also made.in her review so I generally wear the Georgia when I know I will have an extra layer or two. I prefer the Alana and Selina Lace over the Georgia but all 3 easily surpass anything else out there for me.

    July 2020,
I likely wore this Georgia fewer than ... 5 times over the first year. The material is certainly on the thin side and that made me think that it would lose support the more I wore it. However, over the past 2 months, I find myself wearing this more and more and perhaps more now than any of my other bras. I have been wearing fabric nipple pads whenever my bra does not hide them well and that has given me some confidence, especially on hot summer days. The shape I am getting now is a little less rounder and not so high and I end up feeling more comfortable. Plus, this mint colorway is without a doubt my favorite.
I recently noticed that my white Selina had a band whose wings were made of 2 materials, each of different levels of softness that I had never noticed before in any bra I have owned. This Georgia has 2 materials in the wings as well but unlike my white Selina, the inside and outside layers seem to be the same materials Less surprisingly, the cups are comprised of 2 materials and they also seem to be of the same fabric.

    July 2020,
I am so disappointed. Yesterday, after an above average day of stress, I got home and quickly undid this bra but was in such a rush and a bit distracted that I forced the clasps a bit too hard and heard and felt a thread (or two) snap. OH NO!!! I took the straps off and slowly examined the clasps to see if I had damaged them - I did (sob sob).I had pulled two of the eyelets out of position and they will need some repair. I did the same thing with one eyelet to my Bravissimo Erin and although my re-stitching of the Erin seems ok, it is visually annoying. Lesson learned.

    Sep 2020
I thought it would be interesting to compare my original measurement data for this bra to what they are today.

    .......................................... original / current / difference
    band length un-stretched..... 35.50 / 33.00 / (2.50)
    band length stretched........... 41.00 / 39.50 / (1.50)
    cup depth.............................. 17.75 / 18.00 / 0.25
    cup height............................. 12.75 / 15.00 / 2.25

The (2.50) inch change seems unusual, perhaps my original measurements were wrong. Shrinkage from washing might cause some difference but not to this extent.
The (1.50) inch change in stretched band length is also weird, see above
The 0.25 inch increase in cup depth is possible
The 2.25 increase in cup height also looks wrong

The results of this re-measure are quite puzzling. I tend to buy and measure multiple bras so I may have mixed up some of these measurements.

    March 2021
Soon after the above measurements were taken, I stopped wearing this Georgia. I was worried about damaging it further but also because I had splurged on the following new bras: Annie and Gemma in 38 & 40 bands, Satine and the Jenna both in the 40 band. I wore this for the first time in over 4 months on Monday and I have to admit that this Georgia has been so comfortable and supportive that I am seriously considering wearing it for a 3rd day in a row, without a wash in between...eewwwww!

About 2 months since my last observation and for no particular reason, I had stopped wearing this bra. There has been recent discussion that focused on the straps Bravissimo has on their recent product line up. The comments seem to focus on the tendency of the straps to fold over which would lead to straps digging into the shoulders. Some of my Bravissimo bras have this weakness but the Georgia is certainly not one of them. At this moment, the Georgia straps are superior to all of my Alana's and most of my newer narrow wire bras. They are soft but firm with not even a trace of folding and they also do not slip off of my shoulders. I will send Bravissimo a note asking them to consider using these straps on their new bras.

I have gone a whole week without wearing one of my many Alana's. I have been neglecting or maybe ignoring all my other bras since the Alana's fit so well, at least compared to the many ill-fitting bras in my past.
I have had this Georgia in mint for a year now and I may have worn it 2 or maybe 3 times. It gives a nice round uplifted shape although it tends to push my boobs into the sides where it then rubs against my arms a little. The band seems to be TTS although I have not worn this often enough to really stretch it out. The straps are soft but not overly stretchy so they do a good job of helping the band support my boobs. They are a bit too wide for me but that is likely due to my wearing this on the loosest hooks. As it stretches out, I can still use the tighter hooks to compensate.
I recall reading a review on the Bravissimo website where one owner compared the material to a bikini. I do not understand the basis for that comment as this bra is not very close to any bikini I have ever worn. The Georgia does a better job at hiding my rather prominent nipples compared to my Alana's although there is still a bit of show through so nipples covers or a cami are still required.
I find the Georgia to be very similat to my Selina, Selina Lace and Erin bras in terms of fit, style and comfort but they are very different than my Alana's. Overall, I still prefer the Alana to any of these and quite frankly, at this size, I am happy to have this many well fitting bras.

    • The Georgia's had dropped out of my rotation over the past year due my purchases of various Bravissimo bras that feature their narrow wires. I wore the Georgia to work yesterday and experienced all of the good qualities I remember previously having.

I was very disappointed with what I saw though when I took this bra off, not one but two of the eyes were close to being pulled out! It was the middle set that was affected so I can still use the loosest or tightest fasteners. Thankfully, I have worn my current rotation much more frequently than the Georgia and none of them have shown this problem.

    • Yesterday morning, I saw this bra in my drawer and decided to wear it on it's soon to be torn out hooks. Two of the three middle hooks looked ready to be pulled out and since I was going to be home all day, I figured there was little danger in being right. As it went, the day was quite normal with a little bit of heavy lifting so this Georgia with the weak hooks survived without incident. To be sure, I will not wear this bra, at least on the middle hooks, when I leave home.

The straps on this Georgia are indeed among the best in any bra I have ever had not named Jenna. I just wish they were an inch or so closer together to minimize straps falling off my shoulders. I think I will jump on a 38 band mint Georgia if I ever see one for sale.

    • I wore my other mint Georgia the day after I posted my previous comment with the same success although the fasteners are not coming apart on that one. I am very pleased but at the same time puzzled by why I more or less gave up on my Georgia's. I seldom wear these, especially lately due to my preference for my narrow wired bras and my Jenna's. I will likely wear these more often until they finally give up. I am regretting placing a recent order for new bras as my old Georgia's, Selina's and of course Alana's still have plenty of life in them.

    Didn't fit

I love everything about this bra, except I was a bit too optimistic with my band size, so I'm exchanging my 34HH for a 36H. This bra is probably not for most people though. I have very close set breasts and it's really difficult for me to find bras with gores that will tack. This tacked beautifully, which gave my breasts way more support than I normally get. However, a lot of people will probably find the wires a bit much at the sternum but softer wires just won't tack for me, period. I also have breasts that are full on top and bottom, so I'm always spilling ... out of everything, even if it seems like the right size. Usually someone like me gets recommendations for lace bras, but I hate how lace feels, how my breasts look, and being able to see my flesh. This bra completely contains all my fullness while not being a sexy, lace bra (a plus for me). The negatives are that you can see the seams through some shirts, it doesn't come in any light colors at the time of this posting, and the straps are on the wide side, which is good for me but not everyone.
