I wouldn't normally post a bra adventure, but I would have loved some information before bra shopping in Japan, and it was definitely an adventure!

So this is my second Japanese bra and it is from a shop called Aimerfeel. I have never found a bra with narrow enough wires and straps for me before. This comes very close to being perfect! The wires are very narrow, and the straps are as close set as I've found, although they are still too wide on me and dug in a bit at first but have softened after washing. Because of this, this bra doesn't gape on me nearly as much ... as the Ewa Michalak bras I usually wear. This bra also gives me really great cleavage, which I haven't been able to get from a bra since I grew out of Victoria's secret https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

There is a lot of option in Japanese bras in my size (H65 = 30G) which surprised me, I spent about 4 hours trying on bras at the seven bra shops I found within the station complex in Sapporo! Some of the bras I tried were even too narrow! Most Japanese bras I find quite ugly, with large applique flowers, ribbons and ruching (but my Japanese friends think Western bras are ugly, so hey). They also have a very pointy shape, which is improved if you add pads to them (which I guess is how they are designed to be worn, most bras have cookie pockets), but they are still pointy. There were a couple bras that fit me but had such a strange pointy shape that I didn't buy them (although they were comfy!). This bra is pointy, which isn't ideal, but it's not as pointy as most others I tried and it's so comfy I don't care.

This bra doesn't provide a huge amount of support, but does provide enough, and it feels soo comfortable. It doesn't feel like my boobs are being pushed to the sides like in my other bras, instead it feels like they are held in front where they should be, which is nice! The quality of the bra is not great, the lace on the edges is already starting to fray a bit, but I have washed it in the machine in a laundry bag and our machine here doesn't have a delicate cycle so I think it's holding up pretty well considering - I've also probably worn and washed it every second day. Also, it was very cheap, costing 3,400 yen with panties included, so I'd say the quality is about as good as I would expect for the price. This bra also has fairly thick padding and pockets to add cookies (which is perfect for me as I have one boob a whole size bigger than the other!)

All in all, my Japanese bra shopping trip was a success! I've since ordered more of the same bra online as I like it so much, plus some others to try which weren't successful that I will be reviewing and posting on the listings page in the next few days.

This is so cool! I've always been interested in Japanese bras. Are you still in Japan? Where do you buy them online?

    • 3

Thanks! I left Japan last week, I bought the aimerfeel bras online at Amazon.co.jp and rakuten, as I found it easier than using the aimerfeel site which is in Japanese. I don't know if they will ship overseas though. I also bought some bras from Shirohato, who do ship internationally, but I found the aimerfeel bras fit me better :)

    • I was looking at the measurements- 5.5" width and 8.7" depth? Are those right? I'm only asking because I'm also interested in narrower wires

    • 1

yes.. any place we can buy japanese bras online?

    • 1

Hi revisa, yes those are the measurements for my bra, but it is difficult to measure the depth as there is a sling inside and the cup is pointy rather than rounded, so a straight line between underwires may miss some of the pointed part. The cup is fairly shallow at the bottom and deeper in the top half where it is pointy, I guess this is what gives the cleavage.
Newhere, it seems that aimerfeel on amazon.jp does not ship to Australia (as far as I can tell), but it looks like aimerfeel on Rakuten will ship to countries other than China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. Shirohatoshop.com ships internationally.

silver , this is great news. We need more info on Aimerfeel, and lots of people need narrower wires and closer set straps!

Band fits like a 30, if not, 28 at smallest. Does have good stretch, but also flexes right back, so this is good. They say Japanese bras tend to run a couple cup-sizes smaller to the equivalent from western brands. But, I would say this 65H, which= 30FF (UK), approximately seems to equal of that cup-size. The only thing is the wires are quite narrowly set & whilst panache’s wires are a bit too wide for me, these cups are too narrow. Instead, the cups are very projected in shape and possibly more projected than many bras in this size. My UK bra sizing would actually be a ... 30F, but because I am wide-rooted, evenly-rounded, yet on the shallow side, I estimate my size in Aimerfeel to be a 65F. This 65H has never been worn, but tried on several times. The band was on the tighter side the first couple of times I had tried on the bra, as a teen. The bra has been tried on every now and then, over the years, just to see how it would fit after a sufficient amount of time had passed. Now, I am 21, and as I have not grown to fit this bra after all, I will surely be selling it. The band is now less tight, but fits more like a true 30 band, in my opinion. Could probably just fit a 28, too, but I cannot be 100% sure as I do not own any TTS 28-band bras.

The straps are removable, and if the bra was the right size for me, despite the cups being a little too narrow for my width, they would fit comfortably and snuggly, in my opinion. The cups are firmly padded despite this being a moulded bra, and are sturdy yet soft at the same time. If you are narrow-chested and projected, this would be a great bra for you. The quality, support and additional versatility of the strapless option (and tan/skin ish colour!) makes it an all-rounding win.

I had rated the Comfort as, "Good" as I have yet to try it in my size- I had bought the bra knowing of its UK-size equivalent, but not truly knowing my own size, yet.

    Didn't fit

Aimerfeel lists this particular size as H65 (bust 93cm, band 65cm). I probably should have gone with a G65 but this was bought off Rakuten without trying. The interesting thing about Japanese brands is that after a certain cup size they tend to increase the projection much more than the wire width, which is awesome for me since I really don't need wide wires. Even Freya wires are a tad on the wide side for my particular size (UK 30E which isn't huge).

Aimerfeel is a brand that is more for flashy, cute looks than function, so the material can be cheap so you have to be careful when you hook the bra.

    • "The interesting thing about Japanese brands is that after a certain cup size they tend to increase the projection much more than the wire width" Wow, it looks like Japanese bra makers actually did the research! I don't think any woman who is a very large cup size needs extremely large wires too, or her boobs would take up 90% of her torso... Boobs seem to grow down/outward, not wider!

3cups smaller its was trial in the shop and I had massive quad boob and side boob tho it was biggest cup size so far they made still not happy. Band was quite comfy and accurated and because of height of band it was more like a longline bra more than just a normal full band bra

This bra is not owned any more
