I missed this gorgeous piece after it sold out from a limited run, have spent years trying to track down a 34D or wooo mayhaps even a 36D to take in the band from.
So when a boutique recently listed one in 32D (which while I knew was complete foolery), I jumped at the chance, reasoning 'It would have fit months ago, maybe my boobs will recede like the red sea and allow fair passage'.
Alas this is the opposite of what's happened, so out went the wires, slightly improving our chances of getting along in the heat of blasting summer's sun.

On to the good stuff!

The brands' Monotropaceae collection from which this bralette hails is an abstract wonder of wearable art, all done in fabulously lux tinted english netting and layers of silk, vintage sewing techniques and subtle modern silhouettes.
Being born of expressionist interpretations, my expectations of comfort were somewhat suspended. The sort of fit invoked is more suited to loungewear, vacations, leisure, opium dens, summoning & the like. Activities which evoke a certain level of 'frankly my dear, I don't give a damn' energy. It certainly inspires one to greater feats of mayhem, as it hardly feels like some shrinking lily prone to tear or shirk from the occasion.

One of the more fascinating aspects of this style is the double layered floating embroidered inner cup which might be there for modesty, or assist in the gravity-defying mystery of this svelte little lightweight wonder's strength. It requires adjustment prior to slipping on the straps, which proves somehow easier than hoisting the whole of my breast about. out the way of where wires & band would be. Just a pinch of the end to this floating petal panel and lift is had.
Very curious where else this sort of design theory will wander next, as the typical bra experience so far has been...less exciting or innovative.
