I purchased this bra through Breakout Bras for my initial order with them (well, this was actually part of an exchange) Anyway, I was looking for a lounge bra and I was actually pleasantly surprised by this bra, as far as fit was excellent, and the fabric is very soft. The colour is actually NAVY, not bright blue: I love the navy and gold so much more!

However, because I currently have an upper body injury, I don't think this bra will work for me, because I think this bra will dig a little bit into my shoulders - as that tends to happen with bras that are not underwired - the fabric straps have to take a lot of the support/weight of breasts. Of note: one can alter the strap placement with their J-hook (see pic), which is handy. I do find that more comfortable on my injury.

This bra has a very interesting construction: it has 6 rows of fasteners, so it's quite adjustable. The interior of the bra has a "side sling," which is *to the side* of where an actual cup would be, as well as a "bottom sling", which is above the band. So those "slings" kind of tell your breast tissue where to go. The sizes are only in XS, S, M, L, XL and accommodate UK cup sizes F - H, and band sizes 28-40. Of note: the size chart on the Breakout Bras website is in US sizes.

As you can see for the side photo, my breast looks kind of propped up unnaturally, however one can't notice this profile when clothed, so...I can see how someone (nurses) want to wear this for 12-hours shifts, it's like wearing your pajamas! However, I don't really need this much support when I'm in my house, which is why I'm returning it. I can see why the price point is $65, there's a lot of sewing and details. The fabric is soft and silky, it's machine wash cold, line dry. It's made of something called Nilit (www.nilit.com), which I'd never heard of, but I guess it's used mostly for athletic wear and intimate apparel. Again, the colour is different than what is shown online: it's really navy and gold. My other choice was charcoal and pink.

It has a ribbed elastic band, which is soft and sturdy, and has the "Sugar Candy" logo on the bottom right. There's a lot of things right about this bra: it skates the line well between *study* and *soft and comfortable,* imo.

The sizing was good for me, I'm currently at about a 30G (UK), so I'm the first size to fit into a "small", lol. I read online that they run small!

note: for the measurements, I don't really stretch the bands to the maximum, since I don't want to stretch out the item permanently.

I actually like this bra, it's just one of those things that ...I know I won't wear it, lol. It's too informal to wear at work (I like the "lock and loaded" feel of an underwire bra - padded or unpadded - and I mostly buy Polish), yet it has too much structure/support to just wear at home (who am I trying to impress?), so I ordered instead a very simple Hanes bralette on amazon.

I like this bra, it doesn't work for everyone, because of the XS, S, M, L, XL sizing. I also read that if a person has too big of a ratio btwn their band and bust size (small band/large bust), this will not offer support b/c breasts will just fall out the bottom, but that probably depends on the firmness of one's breast tissue as well.

This bra is not owned any more

Great review! I saw this bra on the Bravissimo website recently and was intrigued. I've been wanting a low impact sports bra for a while now, but I'm not sure if I want to give this one a try or not.

  • Thanks for the detailed review, BraOdyssey .

  • I actually just exchanged at BB and chose one of these as my exchange. Currently waiting for it to arrive. I almost didn’t do it and have a feeling I will be returning it lol. Mainly because I also bought it to wear at home. Thanks for reviewing :)

  • damaries , okay, well I actually ended up buying this Hanes bra https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dngxb/ from amazon, and it arrived yesterday, and this was actually more of what I was looking for (and a fraction of the price!) With the Sugar Candy Crush bra, I definitely see the purpose, and the usefulness for it - I just don't quite need something that structured for being at home.

However, I do see the purpose behind this bra, esp if someone was at university, and sitting around studying for 12-13 hours/day.

Under clothes, Sugar Candy Crush looks like a person is wearing a bra. So, the Hanes bralette was more of what I was looking for, it's just like a leotard. Not structured, but just something to cover the girls, lol.
