My (delayed) review of my first Ewa Michalak bra!
I'm projected, narrow rooted, and VERY close set. This bra is so close to perfect. There's 3 problems. 1. The straps are too wide and occasionally bother my tail of spence because they're basically coming out of my armpit. 2. The elastic curls under the wires at the bottom of the band. 3. The bottom of the gore triangle wort of jabs into my sternum. I cant wear this bra or my other EM bra on back to back days or even super long days because this begins to make a sore across my sternum just under the gore where it digs in. Im not sure if I'm too large of a cup size, although this 80HH should have plenty bigger cups than my normal Curvy Kate 34H's, or what. The band isnt too tight, so I dont know what the problem is with the gore. I sort of wonder if moving the straps inward will support my chest from the middle more, but I havent dared to alter my most expensive and best fitting bras yet.
This would honestly be perfect if not for the straps and gore. I'm so very disappointed. Im thinking of trying a larger cup size, maybe getting it longline to see if that alleviates the gore issue.

I had a bit of a shock at the odd appearance- its not just the projection, but this cup has so much less outside space that the cup shape is changed and less round. It took a bit to get used to.
Also I cannot wear any shirt besides a stretchy 2XL with this or the bra/boobs cans stick out, so they go down and the gore is shoved more into my sternum and it hurts. So the now-more limited wardrobe, mixed with not being able to wear the same brand of bras two days in a row has become an interesting juggle.

Updates:
1 year 7 months: While this remains one of my better fitting bras, it hurts. I try to plan to rotate my bras, and I try to make sure I can wear this one on days where I will be out of the house for a shorter amount of time. I will get a sore on my sternum for even 6 hours of wearing this. Yet the narrower and more projected cups fit better than any non-Polish brand. After trying multiple of each Ewa Michalak and Comexim, I decided to keep ordering Comexim's because while both seem to be inconsistent, at least Comexim's doesn't hurt as much. It's still annoying to have to play around with finding a shirt stretchy enough to fit over this, but thick enough to not show lace.

  • Aww, it's definitely sad when a bra fits you really well but one part of it hurts. I don't know enough to comment on the structural issues of the bra, but I do wonder if a bra liner might make this bra more comfortable for you. I got mine from Pambra's.

I wear a very different size in the PL (70FF, probably really need a 70G), but I do find that as the day goes on, I notice the gore on my Dark Magenta PL seems to dig a bit. I am not sure if it is because the bra is a little small, because the wires are stronger, or something else. I do not get a sore, but it is uncomfortable after a while. I do not really get the same issue with my CHP or S bras in the 70FF sizes.

I doubt that helps, but at least it may not just be you?

It helps that its not just me. I felt like it was blasphemy to talk badly about an EM bra with how much praise I've heard. At least I'm not the only one.
My PL is actually less of an issue- I cant wear the S I got for a whole day. My Pl is a little sore at the end of the day, but otherwise fine as long as I don't wear Ewa bras on back to back days. I'll have to look into the CHP- I dont remember what all the styles are.

I'm hoping to try a Comexim Plunge as another narrow/projected possibility, once I figure out the sizing. I was hoping a different brand might fit the same but not have this issue, and they seem easier to request alterations from going forward. Have you tried them? I wont know what to try if they also fit but the gore hurts.

I haven't tried Comexim yet. EM wires feel stronger to me than other bras I own (Panache, Freya - soft!, Cleo, Chantelle, Warner), but they also hit a little differently because the EM bras are narrower, which is a better fit. I would like to try a range of EM sizes at once to see if this is size related or if there is perhaps just something about the exact place the PL gore hits on *my* sternum that causes the discomfort. (Or maybe it is something else that has not occurred to me.)

Need to drop the Covid 15 before I even think about new bras, though. ;)

Almost to small of a cup. unsure if that's why the bottom of the gore digs into my sternum slightly, and why the band elastic curls under the wire

Center gore comfort:
Fits comfortably
Strap separation:
Are too far apart
