Didn't fit

Edit: Ugh! I was trying to add this under My Bras, measurements for the data base and Fitting Help. I messed up somehow.

My breasts keep growing so it's time to buy new bras as my others are getting small in the cups. My old style (Fantasia Belle in 32J) has been discontinued so I'm looking for a new style and new size. I've been ordering on-line and returning what doesn't fit. This Elomi Rita is the only one of ~50 bras that I'm thinking about keeping because it's the only one that lays flat against my sternum and separates my large, close-set breasts (which is important to me as I get a rash if my breasts touch for long).

I love the look and feel of this bra (sturdy feeling material but doesn't feel so thick that it would be hot in summer). Unfortunately, I think the size or style may be wrong for me. (My rib measurement is 32 loose, 33 comfortably snug, ~34 loose. Bust is 45 inches. Upper bust is 40 inches.) In 34 band the band feels comfortably snug. (I like snug for good support.) I think 32 would be too tight. I am going to try 36 in my next order just to be sure 34 is what I need.

In the 34K, the wires are too wide and go too far back. When I first tired on the bra, the wires tipped in on my back and was slightly uncomfortable even after the scoop & swoop. There's a little extra fabric at the sides of my breasts even though without a bra I have a lot of breast tissue in that location. The band fabric where it meets the cup is too wide/tall for me and goes up into my armpit. I had to shorten the straps so much that the clip to convert the straps are now in front of my shoulders. (I'm 5' 4-1/2 inches and don't think I have a short torso but maybe I do?)

A few days later I tried it on again. In the mirror, I can see that the wire tips push into my flesh but I didn't feel it this time. I wore it comfortably for a few hours while sitting at the computer but not sure this is the right size for me. I'm going to try other band and cup sizes and hope I find the size that I need because this is a nice bra that comes in some beautiful colors.

While doing the stretched band measurement for this bra, I realized that stretching it from the relaxed length to 33" (my ribcage) distorts the wires. So maybe a 36" band would be better for a 33" ribcage.

This bra is not owned any more

  • When you have the bra on your body, the weight of your breasts should be pulling on the wires in the opposite direction, so in that sense the distortion might actually not be as bad as it seems.

  • Forgot to add: this, of course, does not mean that the wires may not be too wide for you or that a 36 band could not work ...
