I believe that even though I have small breasts, the "issues" I have with them are shared with many who have larger breasts. My problems are underarm boob, side-escape, and quad-boob even though I have shallow, FOB breasts. On average, I weigh between 95-98 lbs. so people think I'm delusional if I try on 32Cs and find the cups are too small. I've caused many a bra fitter to eat her own words when checking on me in fitting rooms. "Oh, you're right," they will say," but that size band doesn't come with larger cups," etc.

For me, it's all about the band, and small bands are scarce, and ridiculously costly. I've tried, for many years (as is evident here at Bratabase) to find bras that truly fit. I've come close, and I've even found bras that I love. Unfortunately, my favorite "classic" bra is Panache Porcelain in size 30DD. The reason this is unfortunate is that Panache is difficult to find in the US, and it's an extremely expensive brand. In addition to the scarcity and cost, finding a size 30DD is not easy. I usually order it from the UK, but, because of the difficulties incurred by this bra, I don't like to wear the couple that I own all the time. I try to keep them from wearing out as long as possible. I also love the Panache Andorra, which, I know, is strange for my small size. It's just as hard to find, and my husband thinks it emphasizes my nipples too much (it is a pointy shape).

I have found a bra I really like, in the most unexpected place, in a most unexpected design. Like many of us, I had assumed all "bralettes" were like camisole-type shirts, and I thought they were too flimsy to provide any shaping and support. For years, I have worn these camisole-type bralettes for pajamas, because they are cool, comfortable, and very loose. When a friend of mine, who is very similar to be in size, told me about Aerie bralettes I laughed and said, "But you've only nursed one baby, not three." Luckily I took her advice and tried several Aerie bralettes...and I love them. For sure, Aerie has lots of classic style bralettes, but they also have many "real" bras, including bras in size 30D! My "Pushup Scoop Bralette" is similar to a Sports Bra, except it's made of gorgeous, silky lace, and it's very sexy. It does not look "matronly" like so many other wireless bras. The biggest selling point for me is that it's actually snug on my small frame. It's snug enough to have support! I usually wear Medium in Sports-type bras/bandeaus, otherwide I plunge out the tops and bottoms of the cups. I am thrilled to say that does not happen with the Pushup Scoop Bralette. I wear XS, because, frankly, I like the "lift" it provides in the smaller size, but I am "squished" a bit. Size small would work cupwise, but the band isn't as stable. The Pushup Scoop does not give me the lift and rounded shaping of Panache bras, but it does hold my jiggly tissue in place very well, and it provides a very "natural" look. I don't know how long this bra will last before stretching too much, etc. but I am very pleased with it as an "everyday" bra. I got it on sale for $15.00, so I have no reason to complain about it even if I wound up throwing it away!
