Going braless

Have you ladies ever felt that after a few months wearing well-fitting bra, you are more comfortable when braless?

I mean not more comfortable in the sense of wearing bra vs naked, but more towards braless before and after wearing well-fitting bra.

When I used to wear 34C (I have to admit, sometimes I missed buying 10 bucks per pop 34C bras. *sadface* I owned nearly 25 bras during those days), it's rare that I would go braless in the house. I just feel so uncomfortable and that my breasts are sagging. I feel they have to be supported all the time.

But after wearing well-fitting bras for nearly 3 months now, I am much more comfortable when braless! For the first time ever I was braless for nearly the whole day today, just wearing my silk robe, and it feels goooooooood. I feel they are firmer and not that saggy. To be honest I don't really notice the difference visually, but I feel there's something different about them. I still don't like being braless in tank tops/clothes though. I feel they smushed my breasts a lot.

But one thing that's weird though. Now that I'm wearing my proper size, by the end of the day I usually take them off because somehow I was...uncomfortable? Mostly it's because of the wires right at the U curve that's digging my ribcage (I sit a lot. One can only sit with the right posture for so long before slouching into oblivion in the chair). And then there's the lace that folds under the wires (I'm looking at you, Andorra and Tease Me!). That is fixable with needle and thread, so I don't mind. But yeah, whatever the memes said about women going ahhhhh after taking off their bras don't happen to me until AFTER I wear a well-fitted one. Talk about irony. And Alanis Morrissette got it all wrong about that one.

  • I can totally relate! Back when I wore 38B/C I couldn't even think of sleeping without a bra. If I took a shower at night I'd put a bra on immediately or it felt painful.

Now that I'm on 34E/F I can't sleep with a bra on at all, and there are days where I don't put a bra on (when I don't leave the house) and it feels great! I also often remove my bras when I get home, because they start digging a little.

  • Woohoo! I rarely sleep braless in those days as well.

Now, I have two bras that I use as a sleeping bra - Debenhams Gorgeous in 30E and Parfait Saffron in 32F. All bras in my proper size (28G) are too painful to sleep in with. Either the gore attacks me or the wires are tooooo wide. :(
