Money, money, money

How much have you spent from the start of your proper bra-fitting journey until you've found your [almost] perfect size?

I started my journey end of November 2012. Starting with 32D -> 30DD -> 28E -> 28F -> 28FF -> current size 28G. CK Emily fitted me nicely in 28FF, although I wonder if 28G would be better.

Between ordering and returning back and forth, I could probably buy two Masquerade bras full price on the returning postage alone. And pound sterling ain't cheap, honey. Judging by the credit card bills, all these buying costed me one month's worth of my old job's salary. And currently I'm jobless. Thank God for savings and living with parents. Haha.

So yeah, what about you guys?

  • I was thinking about that the other day... I actually think I saved money since I got into online fitting. For years I was wearing 32ff chantelle bras, the only remotely fitting size I could find here, and I had to make sure the store owner got some in my size and I had to even give down payments. My lingerie drawer at that point consisted if about 10 bras, the cheapest of which was 80 dollars, so you do the math.
    Since I gave up on chantelle, the most expensive bra I bought was 50 dollars, and most of the ones I wear I got here, or on ebay really cheap - around 25 bucks with shipping. I don't send anything back, I either make it work by altering, or if it's really too small I give it away to a friend with a cupsize smaller boob volume that is broke and still in college, so she happily excepts them and wears them with extenders.
    So having done the math, I now get 2 or 3 bras for the price of one and I always put a smile on someones face - mine or my friends, and you can't put a price tag on that :)

  • I was only thinking of this today.. and don't want to add it up! The problem I realized until i really found my size I think I should have stuck only to those stores I could easily return stuff to without being too out of pocket. Instead of finding that bargain on ebay or wherever- hoping it fit and not being able to return it. lol.. I have a bit of a stash now and need to sell some I think.. But yes after those that I have not been able to return, even though they were bargains, they aren't when you can't wear them and I would probably have been better to spend a little more from a store I could return to.
