Jan 14, 2013 -- Change? No chance!

I dropped by a Change store today to check out their 'Tactel' bra, a completely unpretentious (some might even call it dreadfully dull) half cup with a thin foam lining, too flexible wires and probably a too stretchy band as well, but perfect for lounging about the house, or so I hoped. Of course, they didn't have it in the 65E I was after, so I decided to take the 65DD just to check the fit. At home, necessarily, as my baby boy isn't the most patient in these circumstances, not to mention I can hardly cram the pram into those tiny fitting cubicles. Says the sales woman when I'm ready to pay: "oh, but bras can't be returned or exchanged."

Ehm, again?

"No, because bras and knickers are intimate apparel and we don't accept returns for hygiene reasons."

Knickers I kind of get, but bras? Come on! I told her that it would be no problem if I ordered the same bra through their online shop, which she categorically denies is true even when I mention that I HAVE once ordered a bra from their online shop and RETURNED the thing without problems (I just didn't want to do that again as I find a EUR 10 shipping fee rather steep for a place that is essentially just around the corner from me). She just shrugged and repeated it's shop policy that returns on these items are simply not accepted.

Anybody else encountered the same issue?

  • Yeah. Silly me, I actually bought the bras without noticing the policy. I did try them on, but in a hurry so I didn't notice how badly they fit.

I also have used the online shop and had no problem with the returns there.

  • I was in Change just before Christmas (helped a guy friend pick something out for his girlfriend) and the sales women assured him that she could of course always come and get it exchanged etc. So unless they've changed it since then! But their (danish) website also says you have 14 days to return items bought on the webshop, and nothing about 'Unless it's been out of the plastic' or whatever.
