Jan 10, 2013 - Back in Michalak...or not.

So I recieved both my Ewa Michalak orders a couple days before I left for Boston last week. Ecstatic, I ended up wearing the PL Black for a one-day outing with friends and family, just because I was so pleased with the shape, comfort and fit. As the day ran on, the bra naturally became less comfy, and it ended up getting taken off in the car on my way back home.

That didn't stop me from taking it and the CH Onyx I ordered on the road, naturally. For the flight out to Boston, I wore one of my old wireless Anita bras. During the trip, I found myself relying heavily on those bras as well as my Freya Adas, and scorning both EM bras for reasons of comfort. Walking around every day and wearing a bra for several hours longer than I usually do at home took its toll, and I soon had an unhappy bra line beneath my sternum.

Now, considering that the old Anita bras I was wearing most are a stretched out 34F, I know I should probably be thinking that those were the problem. However, while I still felt able to cope with wearing my new, properly fitting Freya Adas despite my irritated skin, I couldn't stand my new PL bra for more than half an hour. It felt like it was putting much more weight squarely on the section that was most irritated, and I just couldn't handle it. It made me really freaking sad, because I loved the way the bra made my boobs look.

When I complained about this to my partner, he just told me what I already knew, but wasn't eager to accept: that I need to ignore shape for now, and focus on comfort. I've been trying to ignore the fact that the most comfortable bra I've worn in months is basically going to nix wearing lighter-colour t-shirts unless I can dye the bras (which I might try when they're older) or if Freya starts making a less obtrusive colour.

Later on, I'll be listing all the Ewa Michalak bras I got, and posting up the ones I think I can safely part with.

  • Aw what a shame!!! I can totally relate. I don't want to give up on shape either :(

But I must admit that I look forward to see your listings.

  • I'm sadly used to going for the comfort side of the beauty equation, tbh. I plan to check in a couple times every year to see if things have changed, but for now? I'm just going to build myself a pyramid of Freyas.

As for the Michalaks, I got in seven bras, three of which fit (not counting the bra band/stomach interaction), and by GOD if I could keep them just to try on every so often... but I know that's a waste, when there's people who actually *can* wear them. I just need to finish taking photos and measurements and stuff :P
