Swimsuit fit vs. bra fit?

What should I look for in a swimsuit? Should I look for the same things I look for in a bra? I'm feeling like it's hard to find a swimsuit with narrow wires. I'm also feeling like if I get my normal band size in a swimsuit, I'll have some back bulge -- I feel like I have back bulge with my current band size anyway, so that's another dilemma. :( Thoughts? Advice? I have a Cleo Lucille tankini in a 32FF (from back when I was wearing a Freya Deco 30FF), and it seems to fit all right -- some issues being that the underwire feels like it digs into my rib cage in the front bottom portion (band too tight, maybe?) and the cups seem really wide (they are almost 6" wide, and I'm currently wearing a bra that is 5.4" wide).

  • In theory yes. You should be looking for the same band support and cups comfort as in a bra. You want your breasts to be firmly held on a band that fit to avoid much bouncing, and I don't think anybody wants wires pressing on the wrong spots.

Problem is that there is way less selection for bra-fitted swimsuits in larger cups.

Did you try searching by measurements?

  • I didn't even realize you could search by measurements! How do I go about doing that?
