Lacking bottom firmness - a shape issue never heard of

This is a bra adventure following my bra adventure about full on bottom breasts. My full on bottom bra adventure seems to have proved that what people use to describe a fit issue actually really does seem to be about breast shape.

In the end of that adventure I finally connected the dots to my own breast shape, which is indeed full on top.

Mostly when people describe full on top they describes upper breast firmness; the kind of boobs that has a top shaping itself above cups. While that's a sign of full on top boobs a lot of full on bottom boobs can look like that as well. And certainly a lot of round boobs.

But the most known full on top blogger BrasIHate&Love (further referred to as BIHAL) shows a more exaggerated form of full on top boobs in her post about "how to figure out the shape of your boobs". It's an all together different shape of boobs and if you are not used to it you might not even understand what you see. I know I certainly didn't.

So I will now tell you what I see.

The first thing I note in the picture is that the projection in the boobs differs greatly between the both pics. Her full on top boob projects less than the full on bottom version.

The other thing I see is how the volume is distributed vertically. The full on top boob has a much wider vertical base.

So the volume is distributed totally different and hence they will need totally different bras.

The typical full on bottom boobs need immediate bottom cup depth and more cup volume on bottom. Imagine what happens if you give the full on top boobs immediate cup depth and more volume on bottom; she will look rather strange with boobs looking as if they would be "fallen down and over the top". Because full on top boob naturally wants inward. It's how she's built.

But here's the thing: How many times have you heard about soft full on top boobs? Boobs that has extremely soft bottom tissue with next to none firmness combined with rocking halfcups, plunges and the like? That's me. I hadn't figured it out until RG asked me if I could do as BralessInBrasil in her second sketch in this poste: http://www.bralessinbrasil.com/2012/07/torso-length-height-underarm-fit-and.html

When I managed to do that after leaning over and standing up the bottom became completely flat. But more interesting was the fact that my top looked bigger in comparison. So I did some other test with squishing them between my hands to compare volume. The results are the same. My boobs can become completely flat on bottom but they will never be flat on top. My nipples will when doing that hang lower than the flattened boob.

Here's another very flattering (or should I say flattening lol) picture of my boobs. http://sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/557803_10151231596015540_861851193_n.jpg Flat on bottom, nipples leaning over, combined with upper volume (and yes my boobs are naturally fuller on my sides since my front is so curved, that's another shape post).

I've seen soft boobs describes as if they "collaps into themselves." Yes, mine does that. On the bottom. Only on the bottom. Not on the top.

So I've come to the conclusion that my natural breast shape must be rather unusual because I've never had anyone ever suggesting "your boobs looks like they might lack bottom firmness".

No wonder I have such a hard time understanding how on earth I can wear 3 sizes a bigger cup if the bottom is shallow but I could never ever do that with bras allowing immediate bottom cup depth.

So for example: 34HH Goddess Alice; I filled out the bottom but not the top. 32HH and J Freya same issue. 32J Flirtelle Camilla same issue. 32J S:t Tropez cup same issue. I could make a list of almost every single bra I've tried that has had this fitting issue but I had not understood what was happening because I thought it was about the wires. But the wires simply came further to my front because my boobs sloped to the bottom of the cups and forced the wires forward.

So when I get my 32JJ Jasmine (perfectly compatible with being in between 34J and 36J in Andorra) be prepared to laugh as I will then show my fitting issue. As well as me in the 32J Alexa probably will have the same issue.

Since I have not in this adventure been writing anything of my other fitting issues such as extremely wide rooted and fuller on the sides, extremely high on chest but having a longer torso and on top of that being allergic to pressure I can safely say that until MilkAndHoney makes me a bra I'm totally and utterly screwed.

PS: I had originally written an even more extensive post about full on top which basically is that the more full on bottom the more projected if the root is the same. The fuller on top the less projected if the root is the same. That's a theory I've had for a long time and the BIHAL sketch kind of suggests the same thing. DS.

  • Oh wow!!! I have that issue too! It makes so much sense. I looked at your picture, and that looks like my shape. Mine are full on top, with the nipple kind of low (like explained on bras I hates post) but the bottom is soft and it always looks like my breasts slope down into the cups, like they don't sit high enough (the cups). I'm always trying to push up the cups and pull down the band on the back. I never feel like I get enough lift. I can really relate to your post!
I'm on the lookout for a nice plunge that lifts and give cleavage, but I can't seem to, as they never have enough room for my top fullness.

  • Just adding - it's like a lot of bras try to pull the top of my breasts into the cups, because I have no bottom fullness/firmness to fill out the bottom of the cup. The cup always seem too big, though I have heaps of breast tissue above the cup. I don't think it's always the orange in the glass issue, I think it's something with my shape.
