Dec 19, 2012 - Questions about the Panache Sport

Because my ribcage measures to around 31" tightly, I'm wondering whether to keep either the 30GG or 32G Panache Sport that I just got in. The 30G is REALLY TIGHT, to the point where I had to use my two-hook-tall extender (I don't have any 3-hook ones D:) just to get it on. It's stretched just enough that I can wear it on the loosest hook, but I feel slightly short of breath, and the sides feel like they come up even higher than they already do.

The 32G is better, but the second hook is basically where it needs to be to feel secure. I'd love to keep that version, especially since the high sides aren't as much of a problem in that size, but I'm afraid I'll just end up needing to have it on the last hook almost immediately, and then have to take in the band.

Now, the listing for this bra says it stretches around 19% on average, but I'm not sure how that translates into long-term wear for someone like me that's between band sizes. Does anyone have any tips about that? I really, really, REALLY like this bra because of the delicious comfort and support, so I want to make sure I get (and keep!) the right size.

  • The 32G is a whole cup size bigger than the 30G. I would try the 30GG and see if the extra cup space loosens up the band. If not, I think it's always best to start with a bra that is tighter (and wear with an extender) than to have a loose bra that only lasts for a few months vs. longer wear of a tighter one. I hope that makes sense.

  • Whoops, I meant to say the 30GG was tight, not the 30G. Either way I guess I'll try them all on again and see if I can live with the high sides on the 30GG; I know what you mean about a loose band not lasting as long, and I'm already staring that in the face on the one Freya bra I like.
