Beginning this journey...

I came across this site last week after being stuck in ill-fitting bras my entire life. Honestly, I'm a stay-at-home mom that has been wearing compression sports bras from Walmart for the past 7 years. The only time I had worn an underwire is when I went to church or out on a date with my husband (even then it was usually a bra w/o an underwire). My question is whether or not it will take time to now get used to an underwire. I'm trying to tough it out this week after purchasing a couple of underwires that fit me better than anything I've had in the past. They still start hurting the longer I wear them (especially when I'm sitting) and the more days in a row. Do you find this gets better with time and as the breast tissue has a chance to get back to where it is supposed to be? I'm sure mine is displaced.

  • For one thing, it's not good to wear them for more than one day at a time. I believe they need thirty someodd hours to recover from the heat and strain of being worn, meaning that you should own at least three and cycle through. Also, do you swoop and scoop? That makes a huge difference.

  • I do scoop & swoop, though I know I don't go 30+ hours. I'll have to buy another bra or two!
