I have shallow, wide root boobs...I think...I'm missing something...

Hello everyone,

It's been a few months since I've posted, simply because I've been wearing the same bras and not trying anything new. Recently I purchased some new bras. One is a Tango Plunge, (because I am an idiot and no matter how many times I try unsuccessfully to fit into a damned Tango, I never learn). I keep reading things like, "The Tango balconette just sucks for anyone whose boobs are not shallow and wide." (on BrasIHate.com). This makes it sound like the Tango should be my dream bra...Yet so matter what size or shape, from 28DD - 30E, the tops of the cups collapse into folds while simultaneously digging deeply into my tissue and creating quadboobs.

The other new bra is a Freya Deco. How have I traversed a bra journey for 2 years and never tried a Deco?...Well, most sources say Deco is the worst thing anyone with shallow boobs could possibly get near their body, (aside from anything sold by Victoria's Secret.)

The Deco has always intrigued me, because it LOOKS like something that would fit me. I've learned to "eyeball" styles that will work on me, and, except for the damned Tango of the Orange-In-A-Glass (of which I've tried about 10 and still own 2), my suppositions are pretty accurate. Aside from my nemesis Tango, in my own, thoroughly unprofessional estimation, the bras that fits me best are the Panache Porcelain and the Cleo Marcie .

Yet, against all sage advice, I bought a Deco, from Amazon. Without trying it on first.

I am utterly shocked...because it fits...and it looks quite good. Yes, I do get "gapes" if I lean forward, but I've yet to find a bra that doesn't either dig in, or gape a little depending upon my position. When I'm standing "normally" this bra gives me great uplift without creating rolls at the tops of my breasts. I'll take a little "gape" over "armpit boobs" any day.

So, now I am confused, and I'm at the point where I'm wondering if I need to start all over again when it comes to assessing what fits and what doesn't.

Now I know my breasts don't have good projection unless I'm doing a handstand, underwater, in hot water. Is it possible I've got something wrong in my head regarding the shape of my "roots?"

A couple of days ago, when I was wearing a Marcie, my husband said, "You've got a great rack." He sees my bras all the time, obviously, and I'm certain he's never told me I've a "great rack" when I wear my Porcelains... ;)

Do you suppose I've been mistaken about my "roots"?
