Bras from Next

Anyone who has tried bras available from Next? You can view them at www.next.co.uk
They don't have the most impressive range but I was pleased to see they had DD+ bras. Their bands start from 32 (their own brand, they have some 30 Wonderbras) and they go up to a UK FF. They seem to call the FF G though. Feel free to correct an wrong info because I'm on my cell with slow network on my way home so I can't bother checking if everything is correct, I'm using my memory :)

Anyway, I've ordered a bra from them and they use UPS as delivery service, and I just saw that it has been signed and delivered now (UPS requires a signature and my mother's partner works from home at times so he signed for it). I'm so excited to try it out! :) Here's a link to it, not the prettiest bra but I'm looking forward to see if it works as a strapless minimising bandeau as it says! :)

I ordered it in a sister size of mine (usually a 28G), 32F. Since the band is supposedly wide according to the reviews, I felt that it would support well despite being bigger, and a reviewer also stated that she thinks you should go up a band size from your normal size so it might fit like a 30FF! I'll have to see for myself but I'm very excited to try something someone else hasn't! :) In about half an hour I'll rip my top off to throw it on :D xD

  • Okay, so I've tried it now :) I'm going to return it, but the bra itself is actually quite good. What's not great is that the underwires are quite springy, but the side boning helps to counteract that a lot actually.

The great thing about this bra is that the band has a really clever design. Why didn't they show it on the webpage? Quite foolish if you ask me. It's a wide band and each band has a 5 cm elastic attached to it, both from the top and bottom of the band so there's two wide elastics sewn onto the band on each side. I'm gonna do a review of this bra shortly and put up pictures of it so you can see what I'm talking about. It feels really sturdy at the same time that it feels soft against the skin, no uneven band tension. +1000 on that!

The band was indeed too big for me, and I'm not sure if the commenter who said the bra runs one size small was right. I think it's either spot on or like half a size too small (31 instead of 32). Why I'm not sure is because the wide elastics might make the bra sturdier, and that might feel to some like the bra is tighter, but it's not, it's just hugging you more firmly than a bra with a band that's not as sturdy.

I had to hook it on the tightest hook to use it as a strapless bra. Sure enough, it didn't slip and it did feel very comfortable. I had adequate support and I'm really picky on that in general. A bra that fits horribly wrong gives me breast-aches and I did not feel uncomfortable wearing the bra.

The underwires are very, very wide for this size. I measured them and they measure 16,7 cm. That is really wide for 32F. Usually it's like maximum 15, ranging from 13 to 15 cm. That's what I've seen here on Bratabase at least and there's a bunch of bras in 32F here. I have yet to measure the rest but I will. Look at my future review if you want to read more about it and see it.

  • Oh, btw, it won't be one of those sad returns where nothing you bought fits you and you're just bummed. I bought a pair of petite jeans leggins and they couldn't fit more perfectly!
