Hello Tutti Rouge :-)

One thing I have had my eye on for a while now is the Tutti Rouge range. They are just so eye catching and pretty. Well I stumbled across a sale of ASOS and ended up getting 4 Tutti Rouge bras. 3 28G's and one 28GG (on recommendation form the sales lady)

As it turns out they are all more stunning in person than I expected from the pictures. The details of the designs are amazing. I really love them all. Especially the love heart shaped strap sliders.

Unfortunately the shape of all of them is totally wrong!!!! I noticed that most people seem to have the same problems that I am having and even one of Tutti Rouges models is wearing a bra that seems to double over and buckle at the bottom of the cups. The main problem seems to be the underwires which are shaped like a nike symbol or perhaps a banana. This leaves very little room at the center of the bras (where the gore is) and an extra section of super shallow oddly shaped fabric at the bottom of the cups that doesn't seem to line up with the volume/space needed for the respective size.

I honestly wonder why they create all their bras in this way. I really wish I could pull the underwires out and replace them with an underwire form another bra. The quality, detail and thought that has been put into each bra is amazing. They really do look stunning. So sad that they are so oddly shaped :(

  • I don't think the underwire shape would be as much of a problem if the cup sections were different. Many cut and sew three part seamed bras have a much larger side section than front (side closer to cleavage) section. As important as width and depth is that bras are basically cut in two ways for different volume distributions: for more forward projection (lg front section) or wider/shallower breasts (large side section). Tutti Rouge seems to cut for the second category. Many companies that carry high cup sizes have several lines, so each line can address the different body/breast types. The second type when above a DD only occurs if one gains weight in the upper torso (which one can be sure of if one notices volume change after weight-loss in the upper torso).

  • There is more wiggle room with molded cups even if their wires are too wide and their cups too shallow because a) they maintain a shape and b) if they are seamless (often only molded plunges are) they will be more flexible because seamed bras are precise so if the fit is wrong it is precisely wrong c) with molded plunges, quadraboob can sometimes be shifted a little to the cleavage area especially if there is a low center gore...The flexibility of the Molded cup design offered by lines with an otherwise incompatible cut (with mine, projected and narrow) or wires that are too wide, is part of the reason why I think the cut of the cup pieces and their proportion to each other is important, not just the underwires.
