Susannah is my girl....
There is such a wealth of information here. I think I'll give my questions a try. I have found only one bra that gives me decent support and doesn't hurt at the sides. It is the Susannah side suppport by Fantasie in a 36H. I have tried on at least 100 bras. What I think I've learned is that Panache/Elomi are enemies.....I do better with narrow wires, but also short at the sides. No balcony bra has even come remotely close to fitting, no matter what size. I'm 5'7 and am short through the torso, with long legs. Anyone there also got " Susannah" boobs? Or can recommend a similar bra, or venture a guess about why it fits. I'll try to post a picture, but got to work on the technology to enact such a feat.

  • Other Fantasie balconies. Fauve as well since they're similar in construction. Bestform might be worth a shot. Bravissimo unpadded balconettes may work, and perhaps if you haven't already, some of the Cleo Meg/Zia/Alexa/Lily/whatever family. I find Cleo to be short in the sides, and those bras have an impressive amount of depth.

  • I wear Fantasie almost exclusively--I do keep trying other brands without success. I'm learning that even though they look very similar, Fantasie balconies models can be different. I don't know if it's quality control or they are meant to have slight differences. Since I've bought some from eBay, yu have to wonder if those are seconds!

Having said that, I just got a Nicola that I think is similar to what you describe. I have an Elodie and, as another blogger commented, the seam across the mid-cup is too thick and tends to show under thin shirts (and clothing mfgs are producing very thin--i.e.cheap--shirts these days).

The Lizbeth (not plunge!) is another good bet for you. I think it's been discontinued but they seem easy to find. If you go for a molded cup or the Rebecca, you'll have to try them on because you might need a different cup size.
