What's it called...
when there's a band all the way around and the cups are mounted to the band, as opposed to when the band, is attached to the cups? I have a feeling I'm not explaining this very well, and that's exactly the same feeling I get when I try to explain it to anyone. I really tend to need bras that do have the band all the way around, but I never quite know what to ask for.

A full band vs. a partial band?
I'm not sure, but you might be referring to a longline? There are bandless where the wire is the very bottom, there are ones with bands that have a small elastic part below the bottom of the wire then the longline that has aprox 1" or so of band below the wire.
