Workout clothes and underwear from Freya and others

Do you own workout clothes made with the coolmax fabric ?
On Freya's website, they say this fabric is odor free, so you can wear the item many times before washing it. They also say "wick away sweat".
If you have something similar, does it really works ?
(I am pariculary interested in Panache sport shorts, they are so pretty)

Because right now, I do sport in basic elasthane+cotton clothes, and sorry I will be unglamour, but I finish totally wet...And because I am a student with no washing machine at home, I have to wash my workout clothes by hand many times a week, or wait a long time before I go to the laundromat. So if this coolmax fabric really works, I want it !

But I am quite septical, because I have a shock absorber bra, made with the same type of fabric I suppose, and it finish wet and smelling bad after only one hour :( . I think it can be worse, (comparing to the shirt I wear over it) but nothing exeptionnal.

  • I have not tried the Freya gear, but I work out a lot too and have the same issues with "performance" sports clothes - they still get wet and stink!

I switched to light weight merino wool (like cyclists use) and that solved EVERYTHING. At first, I was skeptical . . . I mean, WOOL!? Won't that be so hot and itchy? BUT, I tried it and now I won't wear anything else. It is so amazing. I stay dry and odor-free and stay that way through multiple wears. It is very soft and comfortable and even looks good enough to wear as normal clothing. My favorite brands are Icebreaker and Ibex and I always stock up quite a bit when there is a sale.

  • I find synthetic fabrics end up smelling worse than cotton blends. In my experience, the only advantage is that when it's damp, you don't get the increased friction that you do with cotton when it gets wet. I don't do formal workouts often enough for it to matter these days, but for work (I have a very physical job) I just have enough junky clothes to last all week and wash everything when I have the time. If you can find cheap workout gear, it might be better than investing in items that end up costing more and not saving you any time or frustration.
