Finally got my Curvy Kates today... and was totally underwhelmed. I got a Curvy Kate Smoothie Moulded Bra (CK2401) in 28g, and an Curvy Kate Elegance (CK1401) in 28gg. I wasn't sure what size to get, as I've heard to size up in ck, so decided to get one of each. The smoothie is a better shape for me, but it's too small. a little bit of cone happens, but i think it's exaggerated because it was folded for shipping. Unfortunately, they have the same awkward fit that panache has... where the cup folds over on itself because it's too long and/or not deep enough. it wasn't awful in the smoothie, but still there. so aggravating. the whole bra sits too low, which gives me quad, and just looked awkward. I could possibly pull it off in a gg, but I don't know if that would fix it sitting so low.

The elegance was weird. I've never seen a bra in my size that came up so low on the sides. and there was basically nowhere for my boobs to go. I'm used to a Freya Deco (4234) that lets my boobs go out, and gives them a nice round shape. it's almost like the cup wasn't rounded on the inside but kind of flat?, and just led to a super awkward fit where the bottom folded over on itself. Scooping and swooping, and then moving my boobs all around to try to fit them into the cups didn't work.
The lace was awful. it showed through 2 layers of tops when i tried it on with clothes. I do not understand why bra companies do this.

All in all, i'm pretty dissapointed. I thought at least one would fit! I haven't sworn off curvy kate yet, like I have panache, but this wasn't a great intro to the brand for me. :(

  • I'm so sorry! I don't know those models you mention but the only CK I've tried is the Portia, and I love it. I'm still fine tuning my size but did not find I had to size up in band or cup (I've got a smaller cup on order in fact). Since I don't know anything about those other two styles, I'll tell you the Portia is unlined, which scared me, but I get a beautiful shape and support. I'm shallow with a wide root and my breasts are more than four fingers apart. I thought my size was 30 FF, sister size to your 28G, but I'm ordering the 30 F right now. It's a really pretty bra if you can deal with the unlined.

    Good luck.

  • That stinks :-(

Curvy Kate has such beautiful bras! There are so many I want, because of how fun they are, but I've read about a lot of negative fit issues, so I'm afraid to waste the time and money. :-(

I own the Daily Boost (NOT one of the pretty ones) and on me it's not like my Panache bras (which are for me...not perfect, but better). Daily Boost's cups are deeper and narrower than, say, my Panache Jasmine, but its underwires still encircle all my breast tissue. Even though I'm shallow with wide roots, the Daily Boost holds me "front and center" more than any of my other bras. It's too bad it really quite wrong for my shape.

Try doing a search on here for Daily Boost in the size you're looking for, and you'll get options that say "These Have the Same Cut". I think maybe Princess & Rosie have a cut that's not wide like Elegance & Thrill Me.
