Nursing bra help

I’m almost 8 months pregnant and finding bras confusing again. I haven’t grown very much during my pregnancy thus far, maybe a 1/2 cup, and so I’ve been able to wear my bras that were just a little bit big on me pre-pregnancy. But I’m going to be breast feeding (I hope), and I know that can make my breasts grow a lot. But how do I know how much?!

The general google advice seems to be buy a stretchy, wireless bra that has nursing clips, but at a 42G pre-pregnancy, I haven’t been able to find anything big or supportive enough.

I can’t stand when bras don’t fit me properly any more and my best fitting bras are Polish, which we all know take at least a month to get here. So what the hell do I do? How do I know what size to order? Will my bras ever fit me again?

  • there are some maternity stores that carry nursing bras in bigger sizes - a lot of people find their true size when they are pregnant / nursing and go to a specialty shop. Is that G US or UK sizing? Anyways, there are brands that have larger nursing bras, but its almost impossible to predict how much you'll grow, plus your breasts will be bigger for about the first 2 weeks after the milk comes in, and then usually calm down and lose a cup size, and stay there maybe until the baby starts eating solid foods.

its maddeningly impossible to predict, but do look for local specialty store for maternity, nursing, or bras in general. Once you know what size you are when nursing, you can order some on line. I forget, there are some decent brands i think in your size range but not mine, so i only know the ones that are much bigger - i wear a 32/34 JJ to KK depending on the brand

  • First, Congratulations! !!!

Ewa Michalak does nursing bras, and I do believe you can order any of her bras with the nursing clasps, though you'd need to confirm that with her. She definitely has the widest range of sizes that I've seen, and with the standard 4 hook settings, you have some wiggle room for the rib expansion.
As @dbmamaz stated, how much your breasts (and rib cage) will change can vary wildly. I've known women who only went up one cup at their max and didn't change bands, and others (like myself) who went up 2 bands and 5 cups. My second (18 years later) was one band and 4 cups.

Often stretchy band/cups can be wonderful during the transition, so bras like Molke may be appealing.

Their bras cover ranges instead of singular sizes and are marketed as nursing bras. :-) Congratulations again!!
