SM Bezyk/too big bands

I'm wearing my SM Bezyk today. I had ordered 70J instead of 65JJ to avoid custom order fees, but as a small 30 the band is way too big, so I've been keeping the straps loose to avoid having the band ride up. I just caught a glimpse of myself in the bathroom mirror at work and was surprised and ashamed to see how sad and saggy my boobs looked. So I tightened the straps which helped a bit, but now the band is riding up like crazy. I need to stop telling myself that 32 (and some 30) bands will be okay, or at least start altering them down to fit. And while I'm at it I should start moving the straps on my bras so they don't cut into my arms and deform the cup shape. No more too big bands for me!

  • It's actually funny, because I'm in the process of trying to let myself order bras which are too big in the band. I feel like I've been shooting myself in the foot by only getting 28 bands, as altering the back of a bra is really easy (and I think I do it a different way each time).

I find that anything looser than exactly 28 inches is painful, and the wires drive into my front and I'd happily wear less than that down to about 26.5", but I think that my prejudice has stopped me from getting some stuff which could otherwise be a good fit.

  • My problem is being too lazy too ever actually alter down the too-big bands, telling myself that it's good enough. I don't have a sewing machine and I don't want to ruin the bra's appearance with bad hand-stitching, at least that's my excuse for putting it off. Also I do fit into some ready-made bra sizes, so I have less of a reason to sister-size.
