I'm getting married hopefull early next year! However I have no idea what to do about the lingerie.

I'd rather have seen/tried some options before I go dress shopping- as I'm dreading finding the dream dress and then not be able to get lingerie for under it :(

I vary between a 32g-30h depending on the brand - and I have close set full on top boobs - does anyone have any ideas of what might work? I've tried the wonderbra ultimate strapless and I'm gutted that it doesn't work for me at all- the 32g was much too small in the cups, the gore was about 4cm away from my body and the band was too big- it was falling down my torso, and as there is no 30h I'll have to give it a miss.

So any suggestions would be much appreciated.

:) x x

  • It depends on what you want. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to get something strapless to fit me when I got married, and even if I did manage it, I wouldn't feel comfortable with my shoulders exposed, so I went for the route where I got a dress made having selected a regular bra to wear under it. I was about a 28JJ/30J at the time for reference.

I wore a CK Princess in pink and white with matching briefs as bridal lingerie, which was not conventional but was very me! The bra set was cute, unique, and comfortable, and I had a dress which had cap sleeves and a princess line bodice together with a full skirt.

You could possibly get a sister sized strapless altered, but there's no rule stating that a wedding dress must be strapless/low backed, unless that's what you really want! If you think you're going to be hard to fit in the lingerie department, I'd suggest picking it out first and getting a dress to work with the underwear, as opposed to the other way about. Some people can get a corset back to work, though I personally found that being braless and laced into an off-the-rack dress gave me rectangle boob, which isn't sexy at all.

To get better suggestions, some ideas about your dream dress would be good. Do you really want strapless? Do you have any idea of a neckline? Are you someone like me who doesn't expose their shoulders ever and want dress options for a normal bra?

  • Ereshiy I'm not desperate for strapless (mrVintageswifty is though lol).

The problem I have though is that I am very fair and blonde and pretty tall (me and mrVintageswifty are exactly the same height down to the last cm) and I think that having a dress with sleeves will just add width to me especially when I stand next to my OH - I know I look slimmer and more delicate next to him when I have my shoulders exposed.
I think that I won't be as washed out if you can see a lot of my neck/shoulders/décolletage.

I'm not sure what to do really- I know it's not going to be straightforward :(
