Claudette Woes

I washed my Claudette Dessous in a mesh lingerie bag as usual and did NOT put it in the dryer, but when it came out of the wash it had these weird tiny white lint bits all over it. No idea what it was, so I threw it in a different mesh lingerie bag and put it in for another wash with the second load. Weird white lint was still there after the second wash.

Most of it rubbed out of the band with a little bit of patience. Unfortunately the stuff that was on the cup just rolled up into tiny little lint clumps that are now stuck between the outer mesh and the lining. I gave up trying to extract the stuff while it was wet and just left it to sit for a few days. I attempted to remove the stuff again today but it seems impossible to extract it from between the two layers of mesh. It feels like some sort of fibre (not elastic, I don't think) and doesn't seem to compromise the bra in any way other than making it look gross.

I'm contemplating just destroying the bra for scrap parts because I have no idea how to get the mysterious lint out. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on what it is or what to do about it?

  • Maybe you should show us a pic? Sounds like little elastic fibers sprouted from the mesh...

  • I've seen snapped elastics pop out of fine mesh before (mostly in cheap lace underwear) but this looks and feels different. they're not individual strands that could be pulled out of the mesh, it looked kinda more like wet fluff. will upload a picture later
