Bra shopping disaster

Today,I visited Bravissimo for the first time ever. I had hyped this visit up so much for almost a week. Unfortunately, it did not meet up to my expectations.

My fitting was less than productive, not one bra I tried on fitted well. Not one of the bras made me think 'That's a great fit, I love it'. I tried on ten bras there, only two of which I've photos of, and two of which were a mediocre fit,at best. The fitter grabbed the other eight away from me as soon as I had tried them on so I didn't have any photo ops. The fitter said I was too small for Bravissimo and I was a 28D, if not 28C. I showed her my mad cleavage when I pushed the gore of my Boux Avenue Tatiana flat, she said it was just that I was very close set and that's just what happens with very close set people.

All bras tried on in a 28DD

What I tried:
Cleo Juna, too big in the back, gore soft tacking at the top, lace wrinkling at top.
Here's the Juna - http://bra.pe/XUV7/
Freya Deco- FREAKING HUGE!
Cleo Breeze -Cuuuuute, gore sat flat but was very diggy, cups gaping, possibly too much immediate projection.
Freya Patsy - huge in the back, cups gaping, gore didn't tack, same issue as the Breeze.
Bravissimo Satine - bit big in the back, cups gaping around the way,
Bravissimo Alana - back was massive, cups wrinkled all over.
Freya Muse - obviously gigantic in the back but the cups fitted well.
Panache Porcelain Elan Plunge - decent enough, gore didn't tack obviously, cups were OK.
Here's the Porcelain Elan - http://bra.pe/XUV9/

The fitter said I was about a 26DD, which I would find nowhere,(I know you can get them on Ewa and Comexim but they wouldn't suit me, I'm too shallow). She said my current bra was too big in the cups. I am too small for Bravissimo. I arrived a beacon of hope and left feeling disheartened, childlike and disenchanted. I was then advised to go to Boux Avenue. I took her advice and trudged my way over to Boux.

I tried on four bras, as I was getting myself angry at why my odd boobs didn't fit any bra. I ended up leaving without trying every bra in my size in stock because I was getting so frustrated. It wasn't much better than Bravissimo.

What I tried.
Bettie plunge bra - this felt TIGHT in the band. It has side boning and I was kinda quadding. There was no 28E in stock to try.
Here's Bettie - http://bra.pe/XUVa/
Nadine plunge bra - Two words: Major gaping. If I remember this bra had a push up wedge at the bottom.
Here's Nadine - http://bra.pe/XUVd/
Unknown model- Oh so pretty but oh so weird fitting. Gaped hugely but cleavage-o-rama when the gore was pushed flat. This bra also had a push up wedge at the bottom of cup.
Here it is - http://bra.pe/XUVe/
Evie balconnette- I tried this in both 28DD and E. The gore pretty much tacked but was extremely diggy.
Here's Evie in 28DD - http://bra.pe/XUVc/
And here's Evie in 28E - http://bra.pe/XUVb/

What I have established
- My boobs are weird
-My shape is actually extremely shallow not FOB and projected.
- I need a smaller cup than I measure
-I should definitely be in a 28C
-My boobs, for someone who is only 18,are very soft and will probs start sagging quite soon
-My boobs are so soft that I can't scoop, it all just falls back
-I definitely DO have pectus excavatum and I think it's moderate to severe.
-I'm pretty skinny so have just discovered that digging gores hurt
- No matter how good the bra is, I will always have a shapeless monoboob silhouette.
- I can't bend over in diggy bras
- I will NEVER find a tacking, non-painful gore
- Vests are the way forward, for me,
- I will NEVER find the perfect bra
-Me and bras are not meant to be

I just wish I could have a normal body that would be able to wear normal bras.

  • Don't give up. You are not weird, you just did not jet find your bra. If you are shallow you could try the Lepel fiore plunge. It starts at 30B and comes with removeable pads.

  • Doubt it will fit @Leilani,I have a 25.5 in ub.
