Gahhh

It gets frustrating when there is another (mis)conception about bra size. This one is new and honestly, this is the first time I've heard of such thing.

When I measured V1, instead of saying "but X cup is so huge!", she said "did you think I gained weight?"

And when we found out she was mismeasured, and so the bra size is a few cup size down from our initial guess, she said "Oh that means I've lost weight!"

I've tried so many times explaining to her that no, it has nothing to do with you losing/gaining weight. It's just that we mismeasured you that's why the bra size is so far off. And it's only the starting point anyway! You may wear this size from one brand and that size from other brand. I wear 28G in my Panache/Cleo bras but 28FF in CK Emily and 30G in Miss Mandalay Paige. Does that mean I've lost/gained weight? FUCKING NO.

Sorry for the language. I'm really frustrated because I couldn't get it through the thick skull.

  • My mom still thinks my boobs have "grown" large now because I'm fatter than I was in my twenties. No matter how much I explain that I've spent my whole life hiding them, slouching, and causing them to change shape from wearing the wrong size, she cannot fathom that they have always been proportionally larger. The fat may have padded them a bit, but wearing larger cup sizes is what is really allowing them to be their proper size.

I know it's not quite what you're talking about, devilangel, but I think many women have the misconception that large boobs only comes from being fat and/or getting fatter will make your boobs huge or losing weight will make them shrink.

    So frustrating.

  • Sigh, I feel you. I really don't know how else can we do to make them understand. Grrr.
