This bra is perfect. Amazing, incredible, beautiful, wonderful, any similar adjectives. Is this bra 'the one'? It's probably 'the one'. Or the SM style is any way. At first I thought the CHP style was my favourite: I love the shape and the fit except for the too wide for me wires. However, the SM is a great technical fit and personal fit. I originally purchased the HM style from the seller (through Facebook) but she couldn't find it and sent me this practically brand new SM style instead. The wires on this model are the perfect width at 5.25. They feel too narrow when I put my ...breasts into the cups before I fasten the band but after I do so they stretch to fit my roots. The straps could stand to be a touch shorter so I don't have to adjust them all the way but I'm just really short. They are kind of stretchy but not overly so and are wide enough to be comfortable. The straps are a little wideset but the wings are low enough to not cause any kind of armpit harassment. I love the bows but I wish the ones on the straps were a little smaller. The gore is low and overlaps and does not stab me in any way. The band stretches to 29.5 inches which is my personal favourite length. Quality wise this bra is almost there. The bright pink bows are sewn on with beige thread which shows in the middle, there are some loose threads and the hooks were pulled (that was a very easy fix though). It's relatively stealthy under a shirt even with all the embroidery. However, it shows through on my thinner shirts but I don't really mind. There's a full review on my blog, but I can't say enough nice things about this bra. I love the fit, the shape and the comfort. I can't wait to wear it. Read more 217 more words
Ugh. I hate having negative reviews but this bra did not work. Too tall, too empty on the sides, too shallow on the inside, wrinkles because I can't fill it. It's so pretty and the quality is fine, but it's such a big shape and size incompatibility I know I'll never be able to make it work for me. I got the underwear in a size medium and they do not match the feel of the bra and I feel they run small. I haven't had such a poor fit in so long.
I love my first taste of Samanta! This style was not compatible with my shape but I now have an idea of what ones would work for me. From my understanding, this is a full-coverage style which is where most of my incompatibility comes from.
Pros: Super cute, tts band that is comfortable and soft, awesome shape, depth is tts
Cons: Samanta does not ship to the US so I cannot order directly (boo!), cups are too full coverage for me, cups rub and harass my armpits, and not enough immediate projection (very minor issue that I would have overlooked if I kept the bra), and the wires are on the wider side of average.
I would love to try more Samanta styles but I'm having issues finding stockists that ship to the US. Samanta does if you ask specially, but it's very costly. Their styles are so gorgeous and I'm so bummed that it's so difficult to order them.
This is my first bralette ever. Forever 21's site calls this a bra but the tag on the bralette calls it a bralette so that's what I'm going with. It is a two-layered cup made in the triangle shape with one dart for seaming with underwire and side boning.. The band on the medium fit me best but the cups were too small and the band on the large is (was) too large but the cups were almost perfect. I did have to compromise a little-I would have preferred tighter straps but I had to loosen them to avoid quad. The straps are stretchy and there are two sets of them. There is only one row of 3 hooks and it hooks in the front. The mesh is quite stretchy so I think this could work for many people. I already took the band in (all photos/measurements are pre-alteration) so now it stretches to 30.5 inches instead of 35.5 making it much more supportive. I love this bralette!
I wanted this bra to work so badly. I knew going into it that it was probably going to be a size too big and I ordered it fully aware of that fact (it was so cheap I couldn't not find out if it would fit). This bra technically fits fine but the pros don't outweigh the cons.
Pros: Just as cute in person, cup depth is fine.
Cons: Wires are too wide, wings are too high and the cups themselves are too wide meaning they chafe like the dickens, the gore is very stabby and actually broke skin, the wire channels are a half inch too long meaning this bra doesn't need to be as tall/chafing as it is, and the cups are super tall with lots of excess space at the top along with straps that are too wide set and without anyway to prevent slippage.
**EDIT** As of around the middle of November, this bra no longer fits. It is at least one cup size too small and if I swoop and scoop and stand up properly I pop out. I still wear it because I don't have many options but I have to stuff myself right in. However, the band, wires, and straps no longer bother me at all.
After wearing both 32dds and 32ddds for a while, I was dissatisfied with the fit-bands were loose, cups were iffy at best (dd's were too small, ddd's were too big). I remeasured myself and instead of rounding up my 31 inch ribcage to ...32, I rounded down to 30. I found this bra on Ebay for the right price and ordered it. I did not have high hopes. I was not a fan of Melissa's colouring-I was afraid the white would be too matronly. However, I feel in love as soon as it arrived. The baby pink (not that taupeish colour seen in pictures) offsets the white and makes it look younger. I like the back and how the straps continue along the top edge of the back. After seeing so many plain ugly bras in my size in my price range, I am ecstatic to find something so cute and pretty that I can actually afford. The mesh on the wings is not totally opaque which makes it look less like a workhorse and more like something found on bras in traditional sizes. When I tried it on, I found the bra to be pretty comfy and a pretty great fit, especially after wearing the wrong size for so long. The gore tacks, my tissue is all contained, there's no quadboobing or gappage. I get a great shape, uplift and cleavage-this bra seriously does wonders for my boobs and it doesn't show under clothes. I can even run up stairs without worry. However, this bra is not all rainbows. I have 3 main complaints with this bra. The underwire comes pretty high up on the sides and it bothers me slightly, although I believe this is because I am petite. This is not extremely uncomfortable at all, it is something I can deal with. It just means I am aware of the bra through out the day. Second issue-the straps. These straps are soooo wide set it's ridiculous. They disappear right in my armpits and rub throughout the day. It is uncomfortable, but bearably so. 3rd, the band is kind of tight. I measure at a 30 but this only stretches to 28. This is a minor complaint as well as I hope it will soon stretch just right.
Tldr: Pros: beautiful, great shape, relatively comfy, gore tacks, narrowish wires, smooth shape under clothes Cons: wide-set straps, highish wires, tight band Read more 358 more words
I was really excited about the prospects of an unlined half-cup. Sadly the fit is not as perfect as I would like but better then expected. Going into this I knew the gore was going to be super high but it didn't bother me as much as I anticipated. The band on this model runs a full band and a half tight making it impossible to wear without an extender. The straps are wide set and only half adjustable. I anticipate having to shorten the straps someday as well as the soft front part to twist up. This is an absolutely gorgeous bra though. The embroidery is lovely ...and the cups fit pretty well despite the gore. The cups are tall but I have the tissue to fill them. Sadly this gives an odd, smushed shape that's particularly noticeable under clothes. This bra was a bargain though and I do like unlined bras so I will keep this handy even though it is less then ideal. I know it sounds like I have a lot of negative things to say about this bra but I do like it. I can make it fit almost perfectly with the extender and it'll be nice layering under not so tight clothes like sweaters and things come fall. I would love if Ewa updated this style with a shorter gore and started making unlined half-cups again. Read more 124 more words
WARNING: Lots of nipple in this review. This is a quarter cup bra and I didn't have pasties/bandaids on hand-if this is against the rules, let me know and I will adjust accordingly.
I've been so bad about reviews this year. I've been going through a lot, and while I've been ordering bras I haven't had the time/energy to dedicate to writing good reviews. Hopefully, this has all changed!
This is a quarter cup bra from Playful Promises. It's my first quarter cup bra ever, and my first order from Playful Promises. They had a sale on and when I noticed this bra and matching ouvert brief, it ...was love at first site. I ordered off the UK site (the US and UK sites had different stock and this model wasn't available through the US site). It took 7 days to get here.
Pros: Beautiful colour, matching brief has the cutest little lace skirt, construction seems solid, materials are nice and soft, straps are soft and match the cup fabric, nice firm/tts band, narrow and firm wires
Cons: Longest straps EVER-not fully adjustable and stretchy, shallow cups, sizing on brief is interesting
