Okay. I've had this bra for a few months now and I'm just giving up. The cups fit fine up front but the cup is too wide. The wires dig in painfully after about an hour and no amount of adjustment seems to help. The straps refuse to relax just enough to make them comfortable. I should have just returned this from the start and never kept it.
Curvy Kate/Flirtelle: Your bras are so pretty but you just don't fit me and cause nothing but pain. It can't and won't ever be. Have a nice life.
This is my favorite bra at the moment. It doesn't quite fit, but none of the bras I own at the moment do. The fabric on the cups is very nice and smooth, not at all scratchy, and the embroidery doesn't show through my tee shirts at all. It creates a nice, rounded-yet-natural shape under shirts. The band is soft, stretchy, and very comfortable. The cups are shallow and wide, typical Curvy Kate/Flirtelle shape, which means I have about an inch of empty space on the outer side of each cup. The underwires poke me both in the center and under the arms, but it isn't really bothersome until about 6-8 hours into wearing the bra. This bra isn't right for my shape, and I hate the way the floral embroidery looks (though I realize this is a matter of personal taste, and some might love it), but as far as comfort and quality of construction go, I think it's a great bra.
I really like the look of this bra, it's definitely cute. But not teen cute, mature cute, but still not too "old" for me, I'm 17. It looks very pretty. I'm sure this bra would be super comfortable if only I could solve the size issue! I ordered it in 28f and 28ff to see which fit me better. 28ff definitely feels better and is more comfortable. The bottom of the cup is filled out properly, but the top of the cups don't lie flat on my breasts. I'm SO fed up with not finding a perfect fit https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I'm thinking about ordering ...it in a size 28g and 28gg, not that I think I'm a double g, definitely not, but why not try it? It's aching right now on the sides of my boobs... Maybe I do have bigger breasts than I think? It's just that all of these double letters sound monstrously big to me! Still not used to it... It has a strong band, surely it'll last long. The top of the cups aren't stretchy, which is great once you get it in the perfect size. I'm hoping I'll find a better fit in a bigger size! I think it might be worth trying a 28G. I used to wear this bra in a 28HH when a 28GG Antoinette fits, so I think two cup sizes up from the Antoinette might make it a better fit. :)
Thanks alot! :) I think I'll give it a shot. Try a 28g and 28gg, just in case :) It's a shame having to send things back all the time just to wait for an alternative size...
This is a light weight and comfy bra, in a nice and smooth fabric, with embroidery in same color. Double tissue in the lower half and mesh trimmed on the edges on the upper side. The color is a warm honey, very nice under any color. It does not show through - good for office - and it is cut low enough for summer outfits. It gives a good , natural shape. Overall it is a definitely comfortable and supportive, not too plain,
Nice and well finished Bra. I like the pale shade of nude and the embroidery in nude and white tones on the nude mesh upper panel. Very thick and supportive lower half but comfortable. It is a well built Bra but not my shape : it seems a bit 'empty ' when I wear it -which gets better during the day. On the other hand the central gore is comfortable at the beginning , but I perceive it more and more and in the evening red marks against my sternum are evident.
Very nice Bra overall, simple but well finshed. Classic style ideal for business attire but not too plain. Soft against the skin but supporting fabric. Comfortable band and straps. Nice embroidery not visibile under medium weight t shirt. In a honey shade which goes well with most colours. Did not fit me in the cups but it was a trial - i ve been looping weight and need refitting.
The band measures a 34 and full stretch, was a little tight at first. The bit on the cups is great. Just the band is not right. It's a basic bra nothing special, if the band didn't pull out 3 inches I might've kept it but it's not a very pretty bra
Clearly size is too small for me and I’m not entirely sure I’d get a better fit sizing up. This has a three part cup. The outside is a beautiful black stretch lace with a stretch beige mesh layer under it. The back band has a single layer of black mesh. The under band is a wide piece of elastic. The straps are nice and wide at almost an inch. The back clasp is a 3x3 hook closure. I personally did not like the design of the back of the band, being cut straight across vs a U shape that I prefer. Since I’m not thrilled about the over all cut I won’t be repurchasing in a bigger size. Overall quality is good and I’m sure this would be very comfortable for someone who fits it properly. The lace is beautiful, so I’ll give this an excellent across the scoreboard.
This is a really cute swim top! I only wore it for maybe 15 minutes total but for a padded "bra" it fit me fairly well. I could tell that I wasn't quite filling up the bottom, the top strap area wasn't filled out, and I was overflowing in the middle above the gore. Because of the small fitting issues and that fact it will be worn as outer-wear for a physical activity I decided not to keep it. The fabric was really nice especially on the straps and the band.
No stretch in the cup, straps dig into armpit. My boobs touch over the gore, cups dig in at the bottom and aren't filled in. My boobs are overflowing at the top. Its got some bows and lace so if that's your thing its nice but at this point I don't want any extra frills on my bra because they just end up irritating me.
Pretty comfortable all around but it is definitely not big enough in the cups, it gives me full butt cleavage, maybe its supposed to as a bralette but for anything more than $10 I want something that is more flattering on me and fits better.
The usual problem is here - the side wires cut into my breast tissue under my arm. The cups are not wide enough I guess.
This bra also feels too tight around the back. I used an extender but the front wires leave an imprint on my skin within an hour so it is still too tight. I note its band only measured 34 inches when I measured it. This seems to be the case with all the Brastop Curvy Kate and Flirtelle bras I just received. (They all have 31.5 to 34 inches bands!) In summary, the Bratabase says I should take a 40H bra to 42HH- ...40:11 to 42:11. And yet my 40H bras are too tight even with an extender, which is why I recently bought a bunch of 40HH and J to try. If Brastop is having these brands poorly made too small that would explain why the bands don't fit. All my old 40H bras come from Brastop. Hmm, this is a head scratcher. Can they really ALL be made too small? Is it normal that they wouldn't measure 40 inches if they are called 40H or more? How would they fit anyone? So Brastop should expect them to be returned. Not a business model that would work long term. Am I missing something?
I have a stretchy lace 42G M&S bra that it rides up my back so I am leary that a 42 inch back is too big. It's 43 inches stretched out and 36 inches just lying on a table. My ribcage/underbust is 41 inches. So I am lost which band size to order for a new bra. Unless I count on a Brastop Curvy Kate and Flirtelle bra being way shorter than labelled and order a bigger band than I need. Yet they don't seem to be wide enough, anyway.
There's a little extra room in the top of the cup but it's ok. This bra is the closest to fitting of a few plunge bras I just ordered but it's still not fitting well. Read more 241 more words
This bra is not deep enough in the cups so that the side wires cut into my breast flesh. Yet the cup is a bit too big on top so going up a size in the cup will likely make it far too big.
The lack of side support mean that there is a flat chest and no cleavage.
Thrilled with this style! It's nice to see a Flirtelle option in sub-32 backs again. Very comfy and feels true to size - dual cup sizes are always a little tricky to fit but the soft, stretchiness of the fabric on this one makes it pretty flexible. There's a beige stretch mesh lining in the cup for a little added support, the underband is thick and made from a ribbed elastic which is great for preventing it from rolling, and this is quickly becoming a go-to bra for working from home in.
This review was written about 5 years after I parted ways with this bra and is thus based on memory, so take it with a grain of salt.
This Anneliese is a balconette bra and was one of four Flirtelle bras I purchased from Brastop back in late 2014 at an excellent price of £15 each. Amazingly, all 4 bras were similar in terms of fit and comfort. Not amazing was that all of them were too small in the cup and the straps were not sturdy enough to minimize bounce. On the upside, these bras were way more stylish compared to the matronly bras in my rotation at ...that time (Elomi Caitlyn and Elila 1305). The cup material was a little on the thin side and was just a little unsupportive but provided better nipple coverage than the Curvy Kate's that I bought at around the same time. Perhaps the best attribute was that the Anneliese was the first bra that didn't leave me feeling like my boobs were naturally east-west, everything was front and center which was in itself amazing.
I donated this bra, along with my other Flirtelle's and Curvy Kate's to a local shelter long before I realized that entering measurement data into Bratabase was a good thing. Read more 103 more words
I was recently reminiscing about this bra, about how I was attracted to the photos Brastop had but a little disappointed at the actual color. The boysenberry was just a little too dull for my liking as I was expecting it too be a little brighter/cheerful.
I'm still trying to forget the bounciness I got with the Flirtelle and CK bras I got. I guess some folks like that in a bra but I certainly don't want or need this in my bras.
The Ellie was purchased at the same time in 2014 as 2 Curvy Kates, 2 Fantasie and the Flirtelle Anneliese bras from Brastop during one of their many sales. Sadly, none of these were right for me as the bands were weak and the straps gave too much bounce. The cups were supportive although that may have changed over time. I moved on from these in less than 2 years.
I think it might be worth trying a 28G. I used to wear this bra in a 28HH when a 28GG Antoinette fits, so I think two cup sizes up from the Antoinette might make it a better fit. :)
