my shape: even/slightly fob, shallow, wide root, close set. update: i bought a 28DD whose wires are wider and better for my shape. i just wanted to like the quad/large boob effect of the 28D so badly that i ignored the fit issues. summary: even though there are several minor fit issues, i love this bra for catering to my shape better than 28D - Cleo » Juna Balconnet Bra (6461) did.
as people have already said, this is a great bra for shallow boobs. i bought this off of amazon after returning the juna 28D. unlike the juna, the maddie gives me uplift, so much ...so that i quad-boob barely. i prefer this supported look over the juna's gaping cups so woo!!
the gore is a little too wide for me, but it still tacks. the wires come up to the armpit at a steep slope, and cuts me off. i will have to try this in a 28DD and look for other models with wider wires.
while i wouldn't ditto the other reviews calling the fabric "razor sharp," i agree that this bra isn't delicate. this is not a bra you'll forget that you're wearing. maybe it will soften after some washes.
wide straps, as usual per cleo. Read more 102 more words
I have this one in red. Initially the wires were digging in the center, but after fiddling with it a bit, it's okay now. Although it's not the most comfortable bra I have, I love how it creates smooth, round shape under shirts that looks really nice. I have shallow breasts with not much going on in the upper part, and it seems the shape of the bra works pretty well.
Update: So I've had this bra over a year and a half and the gore was still bothering me to the point that it wasn't wearable anymore. I ended up removing the wires and now the fit is wonky. Oh wellz.
This bra is very beautiful! Unfortunately the wires are digging in my breast tissue under my arms and the cups wrinkle a little bit. I think it's not the right shape for my breasts.
This is the first bra that I've gotten that fits me, soooooo I'm pretty excited right now haha. Was a little worried that the cups wouldn't be wide enough, but they are. If the center gore were like .25 in wider it would be 100% perfect, but it's definitely acceptable. The band fits me rather snugly on the loosest hook for the first time, which is cool. I do get a little bit of underarm fat, but nothing crazy or unacceptable and I expect that that will diminish after a few wears. Overall very pleased. The only other thing is that since ...it is a molded bra and isn't full coverage, you can see a bit of a line through a tight top. And if I tighten the straps I start to have minor quadboob which makes the line more visible. But I think that this is to be expected considering the foam lining and the cut and it's totally not a big deal since there's no gapping. I think it's really pretty too! I generally go for black since most of my wardrobe is, but that can get a little boring. I like that it has the subtle stripe detail, lace edging and button in the middle. Very cute! Will definitely be purchasing the matching undies if they're still in stock when I get paid again...
EDIT: 24 hours later I am still pleased with look and fit of the bra but have to say that the comfort (or lack thereof) is absolutely appalling. I think that this may partially be due to the fact that I'm probably more of a 30 than a 28, but considering that my underbust measures at 27.5 comfortably snug I'm not quite sure. The band itself is alright, but the underwires on the center gore dig in painfully. I didn't notice it last night (after the first day of wear) but when I went to put it on again today it immediately hurt. I wish that the casing or gore were a little more lined. As I said, I think that perhaps I need a 30, but this also might be because I have a fairly bony rib cage and therefore little padding of my own in that area. Read more 286 more words
this band was uncomfortably tight on me, and the gore pinched the skin between my boobs. i gaped a lot at the top. i wish this could have worked out because the wires fit me pretty well, and the bra was really soft and pretty.
neve had defects with the cup edge creasing, which may have contributed to the issues i had with gaping.
Cleo bras seem to have a break-in period. Initially, the bands are way too tight and uncomfortable, but after a good wear or two, they transform into the comfiest things ever. This one was intolerable to wear more than an hour at first, but is getting better with wear. The Marcie is similar to the Lucy, but the cups (known to run small on the Lucy) are even smaller on the Marcie. While I get some quad-boobing during certain times of the month, the rest of the time, this is a great fit. I generally fit a 28D as long as it runs small in the cups, so this ...fits the bill. I believe the centre gore of the Marcie is taller and narrower than the Lucy as well. I prefer the gore of the Lucy (shorter gores don't dig in to bony ribs as much), but this one fits alright as well. It lays flat but does poke a bit if I slouch. Overall, it's a good bra that works well enough and gives me a bit of variety, but the Lucy is a better fit. Read more 76 more words
So, this was an experiment, with minimal success. I've never had a bra this style (unlined, and full cups)
Wires too narrow, frame too narrow. I can, technically, put it on and scoop and swoop into it, but I'm bulging out the sides while not filling out the lace on the top center of the cup. Wrong shape, definitely, perhaps wrong size. The 28 band is too small for my bony ribcage, which I'd suspected it might be, but the cups are also just too close together for my frame.
my shape: small, even/slightly fob, shallow, wide root
most importantly, the cleo juna fits my boob shape. so far, the bra feels rather tight (surprising. most reviews say that the band is stretchy and big).
i don't like the sewing. the seams show through shirts and makes me look pointy. the lace wrinkles a lot on me, especially when my shirt moves. although the bra looks very beautiful, and i wanted it to work, i don't think my boobs are fot enough to fix the issues i have when actually wearing clothes over it.
I really wanted a soft cup bra and have been looking for a while. This one is the closest fit I've found so far. Soft cups don't seem to mask uneven sizes as well as the shaped/padded ones. While the cup fits my larger breast well, it does pucker along the top of my smaller breast. It's a small enough issue that a tank top over it will smoothe it out, but it does make the fit less than perfect. I close this bra on the loosest hook and it stays put completely. This has the proper tightness for me (two fingers of space), but I do find it ...a little bit tighter than I prefer. The band feels a bit itchy because of how tight it is. I'm also not a huge fan of the wider straps on the D+ brands, but that's personal preference; they stay put and work just fine. *Just wanted to add that after a break-in period, the itchiness and stiffness of the material is gone and it is much more comfortable! I re-measured the band and it doesn't seem to have stretched out either. It's a very cute bra and I like the shape and projection I get from it. Read more 96 more words
After trying the 28dd Lucy, I tried this one, which is still a no go. Despite being told these are wide wires, they seem too narrow, or just wrong. The shape is very spherical, which just hangs all wrong on my tall roots.
I really want this bra to work, because soft cups are hard to find for small chests and this one's truly adorable. Unfortunately, straight out of the package, it was just a tiny bit narrow and a tiny, tiny bit deeply-shaped for me. The cups wrinkled just a tad at the sheer mesh part of the cups, which I honestly feel is more due to the fabric type, but there was no cup gaping.
After I took these measurements for Bratabase, I bent the underwires a little so the cup width was closer to 5.5 (the width that works so beautifully in my Betsey Johnson) and it was much more comfortable for my wide-rooted chest. So it can be made to work for shallow shapes, too! There's still a bit of wrinkling but otherwise, it looks and feels great. Thank god for 28 bands.
Several bra size calculators pointed me to a 28D, so I tried the Juna based on the recommendations for more shallow shapes. It's been an interesting experience to say the least. Some observations:
-The 28 band is not comfortable for me at all. 32 bands are definitely a hit-or-miss for me. 30 bands are looking to be my best band size.
-The cup almost fits... but I get slight orange in a glass effect in the bottom of the cup. My conical shape is probably at issue here, making me too shallow for most bras.
And some personal preferences: not a fan of the seams and the pointy shape that this bra gives me!
This is my very first Cleo bra and I absolutely love it. I found that it is comfortable and it enhances my bust. The thing that I noticed about this bra is that it gives me major cleavage which I couldn't get in other bras.
I have a wide-set, shallow chest and I am very happy with the fit of this bra. The wires come out wide enough under my arms to encapsulate all of my breast tissue. It's a really cute pattern and the material is very soft and comfortable.
The only real problem is that the lace where it meets the top of the cup puckers slightly, meaning that I may not be *quite* projected enough, but it doesn't really bother me. The top of the lace sits against my chest very well. I like this bra and I will probably be trying to get my hands on a Juna for my next Cleo bra, which is supposed to be a pretty close cut to this bra.
band is a bit large and very stretchy, I'm a 26 size so it rides up considerably. the center gore digs into my sternum, though I'm confident this would be easy to fix with a bit of bending. wire width is fine, the cups do run rather small, I get a lot of quadboobing in this size, will return it for the DD and the E and see which one fits better. the bra is gorgeous and has lovely lace detailing on top of the cups which can disguise minor fit issues. makes for a nice rounded and lifted shape, very comfortable if not for the gore. minor padding, very soft fabric, good every day bra.
That red/pink color is amazing. Do you remember what color they called it?
