Very pretty pink bra. I like the design of the fabric. The fabric is really stretchy and soft. It is too small for me which is uncomfortable. My 28DD fits me sometimes with an extender and it is very comfortable.
This is a tragic mismatch with my shape. Breast tissue comes out the sides. I mostly fill the cup but have weird, almost triangular gaping in the center 1/2" of each cup. My nipples are noticeably to the outsides of where the "center" cup seam is. The wires are too narrow....it looks like it's a great fit for a lot of folks in this size range, but just not for me.
I'm not heartbroken, since I'm really looking for an unlined bra anyways.
This review is for the candy pink (SS13) colourway. I didn’t notice the seam tension error that a lot of people have reported with the red AW12 Marcies. The colour is a neutral pink - in flash photos it looks more blue-toned. The cups feel true to size, but the band is very tight. I measure 26” snug, and the 28 band Marcie is technically a good fit for me (no wire distortion etc), but it feels tighter than I prefer to wear my bras and it's more comfortable with an extender. The wires are also quite hard and inflexible.
The Cleo Lucy (5851) didn't work for ...me so I was hoping that the Marcie would, and I do like the rounded shape and relatively roomy upper cup, but the straps seem to be a dealbreaker: they just don't adjust long enough for me. Even at their maximum length they feel uncomfortably short, make the cups seem smaller than they are, and tend to pull the bra up in front (no mean feat considering how tight the band is). I’m only a bit taller than average, but the 28D feels like it was designed to fit a much shorter torso than mine. Read more 95 more words
The gore was really uncomfortable for me on this bra. I am a shallow 28D, with pretty widely spaced breasts and a pretty bony ribcage. At first when I put this bra on, I thought "oh, the gore doesn't feel too bad", but boy was I wrong! It dug into my ribcage terrible, and I couldn't even bend over without wincing in pain. I'm new to wearing bras with underwire, so I thought I should try toughing it out a bit, but this was clearly beyond anything reasonable. I couldn't wait to take it off at the end of the day.
Other than that, it fit generally fine. My shallow breasts filled the cups well, but the lace at the top of the cups didn't lay flat. While my smaller breast didn't fill the cup as well, the lace actually only showed through my shirt on the larger breast - I guess because it was pushing it up more.
Anyway, I will definitely be looking for bras with lower gores after this one.
I really wanted this bra to work. I should have spent more time researching because WOW this band is TIGHT! I ordered a 28D and the band only stretches to 26". Because of this it digs into my sternum and ribs. I only wore if for a few minutes but I might have a bruise already. It also squeezes and gives me under arm bulges (as shown in photos)! Unfortunately I ordered it on closeout (the coral color) and I can't return it. I also had trouble with the top rim laying flat. I have shallow breasts, but I actually fill out this cup (I measure to ...be a 28DD but wear a 28D or 30C because of the shallowness of my tissue.) However, even with filling out the cup, the top edge of this bra didn't lay flat and floated away from my body.
I guess since I'm stuck with it I may try to alter it or wear a band extender. Otherwise, besides the tight band and the top ridge protrusion, it actually fit well in the cup and under clothes. Read more 77 more words
This is probably the best Cleo fitting bra I have tried on so far for the shape of my breasts. I haven't had much luck with any of the unpadded models apparently such as Lucy or Marcie, and the Juna was unfortunately too big in volume. The Maddie was too tall and required me to be more fuller on top, causing some gapping in the top. I measure 27.5 underbust, 31.5-32 overbust standing and/or laying down.
This bra is very similar to the fit of the Maddie but less...taller, very very slightly more projected (but still shallow) and very slightly more closed in on the top seam. The ...cup is lightly padded with some decent structure, but soft and loose enough that it caters to the shape of breasts if needed. The padding gives my small shallow and soft breasts some good shape. There is a lace mesh overlay with embroidered blue, red & pink circle confetti that doesn't seem as bulky as it looks, but has the slight potential to show up under thin shirts. I am a tiny disappointed that only after a couple weeks, some of the embroidered confetti is starting to pill and show its' loose threads so I'll have to be a little more gentle with the cups.
The cup fits my larger breast perfectly although with my smaller breast there is a paper-thin bubble of extra space all evenly throughout the cup but it's alleviated if I put in a loose padded cutlet.
This bra's cups are definitely on the smaller end of 28D which is why it fits me...if you're shallow and about even in terms of fullness on top or bottom give this a shot. Read more 176 more words
I'd been eyeing this bra for ages on ebay. When it popped up on sale on bravissimo, I went for it. The pattern is nice and the fabric is lightweight, not itchy. It feels like it would be good in hot weather.
It doesn't fit me. I think part of it is that the straps are too wide set for my shoulders. When I pull them in, it makes the front of the cups gape out awkwardly. When I pull the straps out to the side (where they're falling off my shoulders) the gape mostly disappears. There's empty fabric at the sides and along the front of the ...cup. There's no wire poking me anywhere. The underwire does rest on the edge of my larger breast but it's not uncomfortable, at least not in the few minutes I've worn the bra.
Pulling the bra in various directions makes the shape of the cup show more clearly. It seems like a nice, rounded shape that would probably be complimentary on someone with the right fit. I wish it fit me because it really is lovely, but there are too many fit issues to make it worth keeping/altering. Read more 87 more words
See my review for the Cleo Jude, 28D, in Hawaiian Blue/Pink, here: http://bra.pe/R8y/
This entry is pretty much just to add measurements for the Petrol/Magenta, which I also own, and which is from a different season.
A summary of my earlier review: This bra is for wide, shallow breasts. It fills essentially the same role as the Freya Deco, but for a different boob shape. It is fast-closing and not friendly for full-on-top breasts. It is a good-quality bra that has all you'd expect from a basic t-shirt bra, is comfortable, and comes in a variety of colors. If you're on the bigger end of your cup size, size up.
Something about the cup shape is wrong for me. Too close together and too small? There is also a weird bulge on the outer part of one cup when it is on. I tried 28DD and 30D and neither one fit right, despite the cup being slightly larger in those ones. Still had the bulging on the sides.
Description of being a "padded" bra is misleading. Cups are thin foam with a lace extension that is incredibly itchy and irritating. This is in no way what comes to mind as a padded bra (e.g., padding in a push-up bra or Victoria Secret bras). Underwire does not fill entire casing and gore has a tendency to shift from flat to one wire protruding forward and the other tucking behind it.
When I first tried Lucy, I purchased 28D and 30D as my preferred size of 28DD wasn't available. I originally decided that 30D was a good fit, but after trying and fitting dozens more bras, I realized that I don't really love the fit as much as I thought.
Visually, Lucy's cups tend to look shorter and smaller than other balconnet bras (look at photos from other users of this size and you'll see what I mean), and the fullest point is lower in the cup and more projected than what I am used to. Because of this, I really fill out the bottom of the cup, ...but the top embroidered panel ends up being a little empty. This is fine on my larger side, but creates quite a bit of gapping on my smaller side when I move. I also feel that the main cup doesn't feel as supportive as I'd like, so I thought I would try sizing up to 30DD, with 28D being far too small for me.
28D in this style was actually not too bad, although it looked like it would not work. I think this is due to the wires having enough give to open a bit instead of dig into the body, so the cups actually become a little bigger on me when the bra is worn. The soft mesh cups are also very nice and didn't cut into me and give me any overflow like a more rigid fabric would have done. Styling-wise, I like the fabric and embroidery on Lucy. Both are very comfortable for everyday wear and feel very similar to Marcie.
Ultimately, I think Lucy's proportions aren't quite built for me. After initially not being a fan of Marcie, I feel that Marcie fits me better than Lucy after a minor wire reshaping. This seems odd as I was told Lucy is for FOB and Marcie for FOT, and I feel that I lean FOB, shallow on top. Good thing there are so many options in the world of bras to choose from! On paper this bra should fit me, but I have a few problems with it. First, the cups are open at the top and create an area that I don't fill. Second, the sides are short - this might not bother me if I had not changed directly out of a Comexim bra to try this one on. Third, the band feels most secure on the tightest hooks, but then the wires hurt quite a lot.
Mimi is my most painful bra, which was a surprise as I get along well with most Marcie cuts.
In my size (28FF), Mimi is too shallow at the wires, causing them to be pushed below my IMF and the not-very-adjustable straps to be uncomfortably pulled on my shoulders.
It was too bad as I thought some of the colors are really cute.
Wonderful everyday bra; bought it in three sizes when I was figuring out what size I am, turns out I'm more of a 30D/32C.
The top of the cups is nice and open, and I love the lift and shape they give me. Good side support. Plus Maddies just feel good on me - like a nice boob hug.
I was not expecting to get a good fit out of any unlined mesh bra, but the more I wear this, the more I like it. I don't understand cup construction very well yet, but I think the trick is all in the seaming here. This bra coaxes out a surprising amount of projection and roundedness from my shallower, wider-set breasts. Definitely encourages a pokey nipple look, too, which I personally think I can rock, but it's good to know about in advance. I think I'm on the smaller side of who could fit this bra. There is some room in the cups, but not enough to cause a problem.
Just a note, I think this bra and many others will fit you better if you would scoop and swoop your breast into the cup. I can clearly see breast tissue under your armpit in these pictures. Just take your hand around your back and pull all your tissue up and into the cup. You will fill it out much better, if not overfill the cup.
I bought this based off recommendations...needless to say, it was way too shallow.
Color was a lovely light nude, but pity it did not fit. Band was an inch longer than the normal Cleo band (ex: the Cleo Mimi) and the straps were falling off the distal end of my clavicle. While the cup was sufficiently wide (yay classic Cleo wires!) the volume was far too shallow! Cup volume was at least 1/2 cup too small. I imagine this bra would be great for fans of the Cleo Juna bra looking for a t-shirt bra with a little more projection. ty buying a band size down (if you can....sigh).
For reference, I am a 28D with average projection, wide roots, 2/5 vertical fullness and center fullness.
I've had this bra for a number of years, and am refraining from measuring it since it has likely stretched out/contorted in various ways. All I can say is: I did not start out on the first row of hooks upon purchasing this bra (in new condition, from Herroom). It is a very sturdy model that has survived accidental non-delicate washes, and has been through the dryer many times. Nothing has broken, poked out, worn away, or even faded (only recently have the hooks on the tightest row, aka the only row I've ever used, lost their black coating and revealed some kind of metal core). HOWEVER: I ...cannot recommend this bra to a friend with similar boobs. This is not the fault of the bra: I've just been wearing the wrong one, which is sad for me to admit because this has been my most comfortable and often-worn bra for years. Unfortunately, the quad-boobing has become harder and harder to ignore, and I've since learnt that bands rising up to squish the bottom of your breasts is not inevitable. I will have to look for a smaller band size, and a larger or differently shaped cup.
TLDR: awesome bra, wrong size and or shape. Read more 96 more words
