Another month, another cup size bigger. I measured my boobs on a whim and found that they have grown half an inch, and so I am a 32K now.

Haha i was about to give sympathy until I saw your name - for me, when I hit 32K I was miserable because it was juts part of getting fatter! I'm finally losing weight and cant wait to get back to a J. But you go girl!
How do I make my low projection F cups look their size? I usually downplay my assets for work. But I would love to see what it would look like if I accentuate their size. What style bra/design would help? Minimizer bras fit best. Also, no padding.
Filed under Boob and body issues
As for bra styles that accentuate breast size, in general I'd suggest a plunge for 'traditional' cleavage.
Depending on your breast shape, a balcony bra may also give some 'cakes on a plate' effect, thus enhancing their presence.
Oh and by 'no padding', do you mean actual *padding*, like those bras with a sloping cushioned area on the inside, or any bras that are molded (foam lined, but unpadded) as well?
I've also heard of people using something like this, either worn over a well fitting bra or as a stand-alone option:
https://venturi-store.myshopify.com/products/women-sexy-lingerie-lace-solid-color-cross-side-buckle-wireless-push-up-sports-underwear-breathable-sleep-bra-new?utm_source=show-recent-order&utm_medium=notification
Should I be concerned about my rapid breast growth? I take it as a positive thing, however I went from having no boobs to being a 32JJ in 13 months. Even if they're shallow this is still a huge size. I can tell that they're not done growing yet as well. Trans breast growth can take 2-5 years to finish ... developing so I have a lot of time left, although the growth could slow down. I've noticed that a lot of weight I put on goes straight to my boobs, and they can grow a cup size a month. For perspective, 6 months ago I was wearing a 32F.

A doctor is probably gonna be the only one that can answer that question for you. I believe I saw a post from you before talking about breast implants. In which case it would be extra important to have a doctor to check it because leaky implants can be a health hazard.
A cup a month on itself doesn’t have to be an issue. I have heard of a lot of women gaining 1-2 cup sizes per month as a reaction to extra estrogen wether natural like from a pregnancy or from pills containing them. I don’t see why there would be difference in reaction between cis and trans women.
@lunamoon Yes, I plan on getting implants once they're done developing so I can improve my shape etc. I'll be going with saline, so it leaks there shouldn't be any issues since my body will absorb it.
I was thinking that I have been growing around a cup size a month consistently since last May. I know that everyone develops differently, but because of my shallow shape I often underestimate the fact that in reality I'm up there in terms of my cup size, and I have so much trouble finding a bra. 3 more cup sizes and I won't even be able to find a bra in Bravissimo.

A binder may help my child feel better. Recommendations?
Filed under Boob and body issues
now you admit to us that you're old enough to have a teenager, /s.
Well, that kind of depends on how big their boobs are. After a certain size, in my experience, you're just gonna have kind of a rough time period. For smaller boobs certain sport bras might even work. I've tried gc2b--the fabric itself is okay, huge arm holes, set sizing that didn't exactly make sense for my body--and Shapeshifters--great because they're custom sized, take a bit to get to you, their standard fabric is pretty breathable but they do put in a binding panel if your boobs are a certain amount bigger than your waist, which isn't very breathable. See me (30H/28HHish) in my Shapeshifters binder here: https://www.bratabase.com/adventures/entry/19562/
Society tends to shame, stigmatize and sexualize women with big boobs, so there are times as a professional bra fitter when I play the part of a counsellor, and tell these women who sometimes hate their breasts that actually, their breasts are amazing and they don't need to be ashamed with them.
Part of the blame lies in poor fitting bras, ... so society creates the assumption that big boobs automatically comes with pain, when ironically even small breasted women are likely wearing the wrong bra. A well-fitting bra can do SO MUCH to the appearance and comfort of having a pair of large breasts.
Even before having breasts of my own I wished that society stopped perpetuating the idea that having big breasts is abnormal, and now being very busty myself at a 32J I can be in a position to try and help women feel better and more confident about their bodies. Having large breasts may not be the norm, but being busty does not mean that you can't be beautiful, or your body is something that you should be ashamed of.

I had gotten a 28E Princess balcony bra from CK as my first "my correct size" bra. (I'll come back to this)
I didn't measure myself correctly. I used to measure my bust by taking the tape higher at the back, I read somewhere that you should measure across the shoulder blades. This increased my bust measurements, obviously. I did the ... same for my underbust.
I ended up with 35 standing, 36 leaning, 28 snug UB. I thought my size was 28E/F. I compared myself to the other pictures of the same size here, didn't look like mine, except a few.
I felt good about having that size. All my life, I got comments on my smaller boobs a lot, I thought having a bigger size might just magically make them bigger in a bigger bra. Like they'd magically fill them in. I went with the "smaller* size suggestion, 28E and got the Princess balcony bra from Curvy Kate. I didn't know it runs a size larger, I didn't bother checking the measurements or anything, I was just so excited to get a bra in my "correct size".
It didn't fit, absolute shape mismatch. Gaping all over the top, wires too wide. I scooped and swooped all I could, didn't fill it in. I did eventually make the bra work for me (another story for another time).
I measured myself as correctly as I could again, turns out I'm a 26E/F or 28DD/E, depending on how snug I want it. 33.6 standing 34.6 leaning, 26/27 UB.
I put this under body and body issues because I thought trying to get bigger measurements and a bigger bra would make my boobs bigger somehow. Lesson learnt. I've embraced my breasts more and more since I've found the calculator, subreddit and this. I now wear 28D unlined for CK (I have conical breasts with short roots so, needed to size down a bit) and that's okay. My boobs won't get bigger or smaller depending on what size bra I wear.
Thank you for reading my rant.

Ugh, when does it stop? I feel like I’ve maxed out of 90% of my bras, and for some reason I’m not able to find any new Kris Line bras in a bigger size lately from my normal places. Resorting to trying other UK brand bras (including Bravissimo, which I’ve never tried before), so I’ll have a ton of reviews ... on the way in the next week or so.
My 34K Kris Line bras are at least 1 if not 2 sizes too small at this point, which would put me at a 34KK-L. I’m guessing that’s about a 34JJ-K in UK sizes, maybe? I’m just really annoyed that they don’t seem to be getting any smaller, granted I’ve probably gained weight lately AND I recently stopped taking hormonal BC, so I have no idea if that would cause them to grow or shrink (I wish it made them shrink, but it’s not looking that way.)
Anyway, just a rant. Can anyone related?

well, I guess I kind of lost some weight, then gained some weight back. Because it's summer, I'm hoping to lose some more weight...It's cyclical. Not what you asked, but I think every woman should own about 20 bras BECAUSE OF weight fluctuations.
And I don't think that's so extreme. 3-4 at a higher weight. Like, to always have a buffer of some bras at higher and lower weights.
BraOdyssey I guess that’s true, they are prone to fluctuating. I’m guessing because I’m so hyper-aware now being involved in Bratabase and ABTF that I notice it a lot more than I used to!

I'm planning on getting XXL breast implants next year, but I don't know whether to go for silicone or saline. Silicone will feel more natural up to 1050cc, but with saline I can possibly go up to 1200cc - and I want to be as big as possible.

My personal preference was silicone. They tend to overfill saline, in my opinion. What kind of look are you going for? Are you going for a more natural look or super bolt ons? I did high-profile silicone under the muscle. I have 475cc, but my doctor said he could have fit a 550cc, but nothing bigger due to my small rib cage. I just wanted enough to be in proportion so I could fit in one size dress top and bottom. :)
Due to my shape I think no matter what it will look bolted on, so I'm likely to go with saline, plus I have the chance to go as big as possible. I like the full look with a round upper pole, so I don't think I'll regret going that route.

After months of continued growth and recently realising that I can wear a band size smaller, I am a (shallow) 32J. Before transitioning I thought that just being a D cup after 2 years would be incredibly lucky, but I feel blessed that I have had such overdevelopment in little over 1 year of growth. In early April I was wearing a 34GG, so I've grown 2 cup sizes in around 2 months. I'm looking forward to the next 12 months.

Apparently instead of having breast tenderness or swelling with my other lovely PMS symptoms, my TOS just becomes cranky. With my cycle 1-3 days away, suddenly every bra that is normally comfy and nice feels like it’s digging a trench into me along the top of the cup between the outside tip of the wire and where the cup meets the strap, but only on the larger side. And, just to make life more confusing, the evil evil Chantelle C Chic Sexy Plunge is suddenly bearable. Honestly, WTF?! This is ridiculous.

Agreed, dagmarwulfe . PMS sucks!
does full on bottom mean pendulous? confused with some terminology. thanks in advance xx

Nope! Pendulous means your breasts hang significantly below your underbust line--full on bottom means that, within the actual breast itself, disconnected from its relation to your body, there's more fullness on the bottom than the top. Here's a link with some diagrams and explanations: https://bustyresources.fandom.com/wiki/Breast_shape
Here are some attempts to describe the shapes that the system has: https://www.bratabase.com/help/shapes/#Canonical-breast-shapes
My personal opinion is that most boobs are a combination of many shapes in different degrees, which makes it hard to have a hard classification for each pair. They will be some % of one and some % of other. It's all wobbly.
I find that it may help to make sets of shapes from the gallery https://www.bratabase.com/breast-shapes/ that describe them better. For example this set https://www.bratabase.com/breast-shapes/set/1x8/

So, I was reading this blog post on “Hugs For Your Jugs” this evening, and it dawned on me why I have so many shape issues with narrower gores/wires. My boobs are totally a splayed shape! I suspected it for a short while now, but after reading this it confirmed my suspicions. The problem is, I have no idea what ... bras/brands are good for splayed shapes, and unfortunately I’m not finding a lot of info on r/ABTF or google.
I also have no idea if this means I need wide wires or narrow wires. All I know is that the inner wire/gore should be wider. Tall and wide gores don’t ever tack for me, but narrower tall gores can. But no matter what I always seem to have gaping between the inner wire/gore and my inner breast shape/IMF. This also makes sense why every time I try to size up for more projection it gets worse with the wrinkles on the inner part of the cup.
I just wanted to share, but if anyone has any suggestions for bras to try I’m all ears!

Feels. All the feels!
One of my very favorite bra fit blogs. Honestly, I don't know what other fit concerns you may have encountered, but in most cases if a bra is comfy and supportive and looks acceptable to you personally when you wear it and you have no other indication of fit issues apart from a little bit of wrinkling near the wire, that is ABSOLUTELY not a sign of insufficient projection on its own nor is it sufficient reason to size up (or indeed down). Sure, if you can see lots and lots of wrinkling fabric somewhere, and other clues tell you that the cup or band is not quite right for you that's a clear sign there's a problem, but poor projection is only one of many different possibilities (like the cup simply being the wrong size altogether, or excess tension on the band because it's too small, or overtightened straps for example) .
I have no idea hat good bra fitting means cups need to look precision-molded to the exact shape of the wearer's supported breast... But if you think about it, exact, down-to-the-millimeter correspondence between cup/ wire and boob are pretty unlikely... bodies are not computer designed and boobs rarely are shaped like perfect hemispheres with perfect U-shaped roots. So if you were to look closely, just about everyone has small gaps here and there even in a very well-fitted bra.

So sad that the Panache Porcelain Lace in 34G doesn’t fit. I was so excited to get it, but it is so far from fitting me that I can’t even tell what the actual main problem is. First it’s far too tall in the cups, and definitely too wide in the wires. These problems are so bad I can’t tell ... if it’s also too projected or not. The band is also kinda loose for a 34/75. I can put it on the middle hook no problem. I’m sad because it’s so pretty and seems so well made and feels comfy. But it also raises the spectre of my too big cups phobia. Sigh.

Whenever I get a bra that's too big in the cups I feel like it's because my boobs are too small and I get very self conscious. It kind of ruins my day. I was a very "late bloomer" and I know it comes from that, but it still doesn't make it easier to process.

I’m the same way! And then I get so surprised when a bra happens to be too small.
Me too! I'm a 28GG, so my boobs are about average sized, not necessarily "small". but each time I get a bra that's slightly too big I feel like part of the IBTC (not that there's anything wrong with that!).

I gained weight. From being able to wear a Frey 28, I now need to use a bra extender on a la senza 34. Not sure if it's only because of the cups or I'm really now a 36?
Haven't measured myself because I'm scared.
This just makes me really really sad. I know how this might be irrelevant for some. But for someone like me who is already struggling to find the correct bra, this is just so sad..

I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with this. I can unfortunately relate. 😔 I’m also in the same boat of gaining weight and struggling because now none of my bras fit right, and I’m having so much discomfort from the band digging into my skin above my stomach. I’m also scared to buy new bras and 1) not be able to find the right size or 2) buying new bras in the new size and then losing weight and have to start all over again.
Just in case it helps; Freya bands are (or at least used to be) very stretchy!
Don't know about LaSenza (never worn them), but the 28 Freya band may be closer to the LaSenza 34 than it seems.. ?
Also, I can totally imagine this sucks ): but try not to be too hard on yourself. Times are challenging enough as it is.
If you do manage to work up the courage, just measure yourself, and/or ask for advice on here for something comfortable to wear? Maybe some stretch lace bras or supportive sports tops to allow for fluctuation?
FWIW, your comfort is more important than sizes/labels/measurements <3

What do you mean by saver? I'm not very active on reddit and only lurked into that subbreddit once... honestly I made me feel bad. But I don't know if what made me feel bad is the reason you made a private subreddit.

So I finally found the perfect bra for me a couple of weeks ago and was lucky enough to snag a second one as well, thus finally having some bras to wear. And I was so happy and relieved. In a weird twist, after being sick for the past week (not anything special, just some random bug), I suddenly lost ... enough weight that I had to go to the last hook already on my brand new bras--that just a week ago fit perfectly--just to keep the band from sliding around. I've got to just laugh at the timing, honestly. I wasn't expecting them to fit perfectly forever, but I did expect more than a week.

That sucks!! For me a weight change of as little as 5-10 lbs can have a significant impact on my bra fit. I’ve started keeping 2-3 sizes around for that reason.
If you think the weight loss is permanent and the cup still fits great, you can have the band taken in at a tailor. It doesn’t cost much. Or, if you know how to sew, take the band in yourself.

My husband refuses to believe I am a DDD (34) lol
It's really not that big honey. But if you don't think they're all that, I can fondle them without you. Mua haha.

@suburbiadaze I think people in general don't realize that 1 cup...1 CUP is an inch in depth. So ask him if you have more than 6 inches of titts... because that's all a letter amounts to. DDD = six more inches of depth from a ___ band. I agree on part 2 fully lol I'll praise and caress my own girls 😂 if u aren't 💅🏽 and fix your own plate for dinner too smh 🤣
I came here from the reddit r/abrathatfits, and with their calculator I was about a 30FF. I tried on some bras and they were way too small. I then got some 30Gs and they fit almost perfectly, but returned them because the shapes were a little off and I didn’t want to commit. (I wish I had documented them all, ... oh well.)
Now I use bratabases calculator and they say I’m a 32HH or even a J!! I know it’s probably because of asymmetry and not that big of a difference, but 32HH seems way larger than 30G to me. Should I trust this algorithm more and try some of this larger size even if the Gs were okay?

The calculator here takes a bit of time to adjust to your "true/actual" size. It works better once you've entered a few fitting bras. Until then it's just an estimate. Keep trying bras in different shapes and sizes and eventually you'll find one that works! Once you start finding bras that fit, then the data here starts really making sense and you can use it to find more bras that fit to your own perimeters and style, etc. If 30G was close to fitting, there's no reason to jump up to 32HH, but you can always try it just to see how it fits for science sake.
I agree with Wilderness1 . If a 30G was feeling pretty good I wouldn’t jump up that much farther. If you remember one or two models and the issues the ladies here are extremely helpful!

I’d gained quite a bit over 2020, about 15-20 pounds. But so far for 2021 I’ve lost most of it, and working on getting back to my pre-second child body. I do 4 mile walks a few times a week and I lift weights five days a week. I do a full body dumbbell workout in the comfort of my home utilizing free videos on YouTube. Since it’s getting hot where I live now, I’m about to purchase a compact exercise bike. I also count calories/nutrition using MyFitnessPal.
Beyond that first “two weeks to flatten the curve,” my habits didn’t really change much. I was definitely less active and gained weight last year, but only because I had a five-year-old and a two-year-old and was pregnant with my third.
