Bra fitting help » How much increase in cup size?
Claudette » Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000) » 32FF 32:8
Issue resolved
I don't think this bra is exactly the right fit for my breasts because it seems to run a bit shallow. But it's so pretty and comfortable that I ordered a 32G to see if the increased cup size works any better
Original problem
I know that the cups on this are small. I was wondering if one size up is going to fix the problem or if I need to go more than that? If I need to go up more than one cup I'm worried that it will be way too big on my smaller breast. That side is really close to fitting in the 32FF (just the tiniest bit of quad boob), but now that I'm looking at the picture, it looks like maybe I'm not quite filling the bottom of the cup on either side.
I gained some weight over the past year and I realized that none of my bras fit anymore, so I'm trying to figure out my new size. My breasts are pretty soft and a bit empty, and I have even fullness, but they sometimes tend to pool at the bottom of bras because of the lack of density.
I'd really appreciate any help with this bra specifically and any advice of fitting for my new size in general. Thanks!

helpfulI have this same color way in a few sizes down, but I have the same problem - it feels too small yet I'm not in the bottom of it. In fact, yours fits you a lot like mine does. I'm quadding out near the center because I also have soft tissue and a lot of center fullness. One thing I found really helpful was to take in the gore because that tilted the cups a little, helping the wires get a little closer to my IMF and giving me less quadding. If you're like me, you need more immediate projection and your boobs are retaliating by pushing the bra down which is why you see wrinkles at the bottom.
What would I suggest? Well, I would take in the gore and see how the fit changes, first. If that prevents your tissue from getting squished, maybe that's the solution! But it's all up to preference. I hope that's helpful at all - I'm just racking my brain LOL!Updated on May 20, 2015 Flag this

helpfulYeah, I think the Dessous has very little space near the gore and it's not very projected either =/ I had the same problems as you but with smaller boobies (I also have asymmetry). It's so pretty though that I could make an exception for the looks, but I know that's not acceptable for everybody. I think if you size up in the cup you'd maybe get too much empty space where the straps meet the cup? And also maybe in your smaller breast. I say, if you're comfortable and it can't be seen through clothes, keep it?
Could also try the modifications of the other suggestion. They seem promising! (maybe I'll do it myself!)

It's definitely visible through clothes, unfortunately. I'm usually not too bothered about empty space by the straps. That's always happened a little bit with unpacked bras for me. The thing about space near the gore/amount of projection didn't used to be something I had to worry too much about, but my boob are different now. So I'll start paying more attention to that in unpadded bras. It doesn't seem to be as much of a problem in padded ones. I have a 34E Parfait Charlotte that seems like it wouldn't fit at all based on measurements, but the only problem I have is just a teeny tiny bit of quadding. I fill the bottom of the cup just fine. Maybe because my boobs are so soft that they're really moldable to the bras? And padded ones cover any weird "molding" shape whereas it's really visible in unpadded?
I agree that it's so pretty (and comfortable) that I might make an exception for looks. I just wonder if a G cup would be less "off" looking? I don't know...

helpfulTo complicate things different years/colors of these bras fit differently too. I have an American Tan/black that is basically a great fit. But in the Seafoam green it constantly migrated down and became uncomfortable. Same size and same apparent fit when trying them on, just not after an hour. I think a size up would be enough. And you might not get the orange glass effect ... the bra is really a fun color I also was going to say I think these claudette bras run a little small in the cup compared to cleo and freya for example

I've heard that about the different colors. I really wish companies would be more upfront about design changes or sizing variance. I'd be much more likely to buy from them if I trusted the fit.
They do seem to run small in the cup in general. I'm gonna try a G and see if that helps.

Thanks! I kind of experimented with moving the wire/gore around and it did help a bit with the bottom and the quadding...but then I get more escaping tissue by my armpit :( I'm think sizing up might be the right thing for my bigger boob. I just hope that doesn't mess up the fit too much on the smaller on.
