Bra fitting help » I work at VS and still can't tell what size I am in their bras...halp?!
Victoria's Secret » Very Sexy Push-up Bra (281-356) » 32D 32:4
Issue resolved
I need to stop wearing their push ups, because those apparently tend to distort the breast shape and conceal fit issues more readily. Really, I just need to quit my job and get the f*** out of there, for the sake of my sanity, my studying, and of course my boobs.
Original problem
Sorry to ask another fitting question so quickly but I'd really like to figure this out, as I've worked there for a month now and I think it's pretty absurd that I still have no idea what my size is. This is a 32D (very sexy) push up bra. Listed on my profile I have this same bra in a 32C, and I've even tried it in a 34B. Each of these sizes seems "close-ish" but none have really wowed me. I know, I know, the first and foremost advice would be to not shop at VS period. But seeing as how I work there, what do you guys think? 32D, 32C, or 34B?

helpfulMaking an educated guess - 30DD, maybe a 28E.
30DD is a very common bra size that sadly VS refuses to make.
Reason why: The 32D doesn't look too bad, but you are closing it on the tightest hook. Bras should always be closed on the loosest hook when they are new, plus the band should sit tight.
When you measure somebody for their bra size, you measure the bandsize under the bust (not in the armpits as VS teaches you!) and you do not add inches to that bandsize. So if you take a tape and measure 28 inches underbust, you should go for 28 band as a starting point. (Yes, I do realise that VS doesn't stock that.) Depending upon the woman, she might prefer a 30 or 32 band if it gives enough support, but not adding inches usually is the best starting point.
Your profile gives 28 inches as underbust, so either a 30DD or 28E would be right.
EDIT: that the bra doesn't fit and is too wide for you is clear when you look at the length of the stretched band of the bra. I guess you can pull this bra on and off like a t-shirt, which just should not happen!

helpfulI see you've marked these bras as "fitting" under your bras. Please, just, no. Something that stretches 7 inches larger than your underbust measurement is in no way fitting.

helpfulId like to see you in an unpadded bra if they have such there - it is hard to tell what's wrong with such heavy moald. For instance, the coverage from the side looks good, we could never tell that its empty there anyway, this is much better than the first one you put up - so a 32D in VS if you have to wear it.
Btw - what does their stupid measuring method put you in?
If you want to explore other brand, Id say you should take no bigger than a 28 band. And start with e cups like t_maia suggested.Updated on November 17, 2012 Flag this

helpfulExtreme Lift is lift #4, what this bra is, pretty much adding a cup size and a half. I have some experience with VS's various lifts, mainly for kicks and giggles, but I know lift #3 gives you roughly 1 cup size larger, #5 is 2 cups. That being said....how are you measuring your breast perimeter? How far back are you going with the measuring tape, and are you including breast or just your sides? If it is breast tissue, are you scooping this into the cup or not?
I don't really see much breast tissue on the sides spilling out, but that doesn't mean it's not there. In this size the cups are gapping at the top. In a level 4 this shouldn't be happening unless the cup is too big. In the 32C the cups DO fit better. It appears to others they may not be wide enough for you, but I think that has to do with your shape. You have more forward facing boobs that are narrow, so, no you would not need a wider cup. If your breast tissue (even if there is some migrated to your back) starts in front of your underarm you most likely have narrow breasts and do not require a wide cup or tons of side coverage as this will just be uncomfortable and unecessary, as well as the cup appearing too large at the apex even if it's your correct size.
Padding tends to take up a lot of room in the cup, and can sometimes make it seem like the cup is too small. If you took all that padding out it would most likely be too loose. They're also designed better for bottom heavy, shallow or deflated breasts that need the lift. The fact that you have your (only?) shape on here listed as "pointy" (I read that as perky) suggests to me you might be fuller on top which is why the 32C looks more filled out. OR...you are in fact shallow and have more bottom heavy breasts which would mean the 32D (30DD, 28E) could be a better fit but only if it's super padded - an unlined bra would probably fit too big if this is the case and you would have fit issues in an unlined, seamed bra very similar to what the user CatsEye on here experiences. How do VS bras fit you in unlined or lightly line? Or other brands for that matter? You can't get a good fit estimate with a padded bra because it hides SO many flaws.
I agree with the suggestion for a 28 sized band. If VS made this size, judging by how this and the 32C fit I would guess you need about a 28DD. Certain brands run smaller than others. If you tried Panache I would say go for an E, but then again that's a brand better suited to wide/shallow breasts. Freya is good for a more narrow shape.
If you could:
-Upload a bra(s) on here that are NOT padded.
-Remeasure.
-Make sure you're scooped properly.Updated on November 17, 2012 Flag this

Thank you so much, this is exactly what I was looking for! Unfortunately, all their gratis employee bras have been push ups so far, which is why I have so many. Looks like it's finally time to spring for an unlined one -- though even with the discount I'm so disgusted with the place (both for fitting reasons and the fact that working there is a nightmare) that I am definitely going to be looking at other brands -- found a Freya 28E (forget the model) on eBay, so I guess I'll see how that works and go from there. Thanks again!!

helpfulIf you must wear bras from VS to work (which quite frankly is a stupid policy if you don't fit in their range) then i think the 32D, or maybe 32DD is your best bet. This bra does look better than the 32C in your other post.
You could perhaps get a Rixie Clip: http://www.etsy.com/shop/RixieClip
This tightens the bra band so that it makes it more wearable. CurvyWordy has reviewed it here:http://www.curvywordy.com/2012/09/rixie-clip-bra-band-tightener.html
I'm sure she could answer any questions you might have about it.
However, unless VS does underwear checks (and i wouldn't put it past them!) then please wear a good bra that fits well from a different manufacturer. IF VS made your size, or my size, then i would say shop with them, however, if they don't fit your boobs, don't wear them unless you must!

Is this why my reviews keep getting downvoted? I'm trying my best here, but it's frustrating when I'm not exactly sure what fitting is supposed to entail -- I always thought the band seemed snug, and I answered the questions honestly and to the best of my ability.
