Amourette 300W Color 1072/BO (Powder Plum)

I bought this one in a silly attempt to get one of my old tried and true bras that used to fit, in a size closer to my current one. Since Triumph only makes to a K cup (EU K, not UK K) and the smallest band is a 70/32, I decided to go ahead and spend my PayPal funds on this one in a 32K (32:11) to add to the database if nothing else, as my being a 28:16 the chances of it fitting wasn’t very high.

This one is labeled as padded on the bottom, ... but it is not in any way. The inside of the cup is lined/reinforced on the bottom but it is just a thin piece of material and not padding at all. (Think Ewa BM/SF bras.) There is only one seam on the bra, in a diagonal direction across the cups. The lace is stretchy, but unlike my former bras (70H) that had full stretch to the cups, this one only stretches on the top half of the cup due to the reinforcing material on the bottom half. I am not sure if it was because they redesigned the model (the old 3 I had from more than 10 years ago) or if it is due to the larger cup size. The color I ordered is called “Powder plum” and is a light plum purple, but definitely not lavender in color. It is quite pretty.

The band measures 25” flat and stretched to 31.5”, so it was quite firm for a 32 band. There are 3 hooks and 3 rows of eye loops.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 12”

2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 14.5”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

The wires are wide at 7.25”, the cups tall at 10.4”, and the gore wide spaced at 1”.

I still tried it on, even though it was definitely not measuring to my needs (band too big, cups too small, gore too wide.) The fit wasn’t as terrible as I imagined it to be. The band felt comfortable loose, and while the gore sat 3.5 fingers off my sternum and on by breast tissue, it didn’t “feel” terrible and didn’t cause any quadding, haha. I think I am actually going to keep it as a comfort /lounge bra, as I desperately need some option to give me a break from my Ewa bras every so often.

Edit 7/27/18: Yeah........this did not work at all due to the cups being too small/so far off the gore & the band being too big. Oh well, it was worth a try!

Final note: It is a gorgeous bra, and the wires are super soft like a flex plastic, so it would work well for those who want a wire without it feeling so rigid.
