Fits

When I bought my Alice bra earlier this spring in 30D, I griped a bit that the fit wasn't quite perfect because the band is a little loose, and the cups were a bit too wide under the arms (size 28DD wasn't available). I held off on ordering the Alice Slip, which I had wanted for a long time, for this reason. However, after revisiting the Alice fit, I've decided that it suits me better than I thought, and I decided to take the plunge and order the slip in the same size when my eBay seller reduced the price.

Thankfully, the slip is a perfect fit. I am glad I chose the 30D instead 28DD slip as the body of the slip is very snug but goes on perfectly in this size. I am usually a US size 00, but I was worried that the 28DD wold be too tight across the hips, and I was right. There are no fasteners on this slip, so you must step into it. This size just barely slips over my hips and I have to go slowly to avoid breaking any seams, but once it's on, the appearance is awesome. It truly fits every part of my body perfectly without any bulging or excess fabric. The front and back of the slip panels are made from stretch tricot, which is a fabric commonly used on bra bands, so you know it is firm and has great compression quality. The side panels are made from mesh. If in doubt about sizing, I would definitely recommend sizing up, especially if you are curvy on the bottom. The only thing is that the body fabric can snag rather easily, so be careful!

The construction of the upper is like a bra attached to the slip body, but while there is a bra band with hooks on the back, there's no cradle at the front. Thus, it was very difficult to measure band length on this garment, and I used the flat circumference of the slip right under the band to estimate it.

The cups on the Alice Slip fit very similarly to the Alice Bra in the same size, though I measured mine and found the cups on the slip are just a little bit smaller. They both fit me the same, and I would not have noticed this difference. I think my breasts have changed a bit in the last few months, because bras that I felt were the wrong shape for me a few months ago fit me now, though my measurements are the same. The Alice cups are comfortable and a good volume for me, and the only thing I don't love is that the side of the cups are a bit too tall and wide for me under the arms, causing some minor chafing. However, this bra gives me a fabulous rounded shape that I used to get from my Victoria's Secret bras back in the day, so I have actually ordered a second Alice Bra for everyday wear.

The slip I own is in Graphite, while the bra is in Mineral Blue. The details on both bras is actually quite different. The Mineral Blue has a simple tonal embroidery of large daisies or asters on mesh, and a large, floppy cream-colored bow at the gore. The Graphite is much more ornate, and what I thought was going to be red roses turns out to be tonal mauve pink roses with metallic thread embroidery. There are also small ivory blossoms, tonal abstract blossoms for texture, and a scalloped eyelet design at the upper edge. Interestingly, the embroidered mesh overlay on the Graphite Alice is much looser on the cup than on the Mineral Blue, but it lays flat when worn. The embroidery is also repeated at the bottom of the slip at both sides of the hip panel, and there are optional suspender strap attachments. It has been a long time since I wore stockings but I would love to give them a try in this! The rest of the has simple satin straps, and the center bow is black mesh ribbon.

I am thrilled with how well the Alice Slip fits me, even though it was a bit of a struggle to get it on! It is far too precious for regular wear, but I am looking forward to pulling it out for a special occasion. I am not the type of person who needs or wears shapewear, but I really enjoyed the appearance of this slip and how it fit me.

Band and body fit well, definitely snug but could not go down another size. Cups fit well, they measure just slightly smaller than my Alice bra in 30D
