The second set I recently purchased from the Tutti Rouge Carpe Diem A/W 2014 range was Eliza - a stunning bra and matching 'mini-brief' that is the same design as previously available Fifi.

The bra is a slightly 'twist on a classic' combination of royal blue with the slightest hint of indigo, and a light raspberry pink. As it's not your more standard pink/purple mix it looks like quite a fresh colour pairing which I think gives a modern update to this typically girly/romantic design. The outside of the bra is a subtly dot patterned mesh in the blue/indigo shade, and the raspberry tone is from the mesh on the inside of each cup. The gold heart shaped adjusters are present on the fully adjustable straps, as is a fairly large blue ribbon rosette, overlaid with a thin pink ribbon rosette and a large pink circular gem on the centre gore. Sounds flashy and tacky, looks less so in person (and I'm not a fan of spangles or overly fussy designs).

The unpadded lined cups are made of two thin layers of mesh with a vertical seam up each cup, and a 'side support' sling made of more pink mesh. The thick lace at the top of each cup is part of the blue overlay layer and has some stretch to it. The cups are slightly see-through with just a hint of nipple!

There is a rather gorgeous frill of indigo lace across the front of the body underneath the cups which makes me go 'oooh rarr!' in a very excitable way and was one of the things that appealed to me about the bra - it's stunning in person too.

Eliza is very similar to Liliana in terms of the shape it gives - the wires are comparably wide and it gives a familiar minimised shape, albeit with perhaps slightly more projection/uplift due to the side sling (and given there is no padding in this bra I would think without the side sling it may give a very deflated profile).

This works well for me and my wide rooted, shallow breasts. It is however the polar opposite to the Nichole bra I previously reviewed. It's great that Tutti Rouge are catering to women with very different breast shapes, but I do wonder if there will ever be a way that manufacturers are able to identify what breast type a particular model may suit? Perhaps by referring to previous models....or at the very extreme providing measurements so that consumers have more of an idea of whether a bra may work for them. It still surpises me just how two bras of the same 30E size can be shaped so differently. The band is comfortable and just right for me.

The top of the bra has some stretch to it but given that this one fits me like a glove (and I have very little breast tissue on top) I would imagine this would not be compatible with anyone who needs much space on top.

There was a little gore stabbing the first time I wore this bra, but on subsequent wearings this seems to have resolved itself. The matching knickers are gorgeous, but I had to size up to a large due to little stretch in them. Design wise they're flawless, and not as low-rise as I feared they may be.

This bra is not owned any more
