  • Another gorgeous botanical print!! :-D

  • And, those underwear....so beautiful on you!!

  • Love4Pollinators It is, alotugh I am not that big on florals, to be honest, so this is very out of braracter for me (see what I did there, eh?)

    Thanks for the compliment!

I have a question: is underwear plural only in English? In Polish 'underwear' is singular or plural (as in one underwear, two underwear), as it designates just a piece of something to wear under clothing (bra, panties, bodysuit) or a category of clothing. I always have a problem here, since linguistic difference between English and Polish is a bit much.

Interestingly, we don't have a word for lingerie - both 'underwear' and 'lingerie' are just translated as 'bielizna', and when we want to stress that it is not just plain cotton stuff (what would be normally called 'underwear', but not 'lingerie', I assume) we have to use some kind of adjective, such as 'frilly' or 'sexy' or whatever. In English it is kind of obvious what kind of unmentionables we are talking about if we use either 'lingerie' or 'underwear', in Polish there has to be a descriptor added :)

Like Polish, "underwear" can be both singular and plural. For example, "My drawer is full of underwear." and "The underwear I'm wearing are scratchy." And, "underwear" can be labeled "undies" (slang) which looks plural, but acts like "underwear" (both singular and plural). Language is so amazing and confusing, at times. I prefer telepathy ;-) ;-)

Like you, florals are not usually my favorite. But, vibrant and somewhat minimalistic florals, I sincerely appreciate.
